  1. What a wonderful review! I have this watch as well, and it's a great one. Any tips on how the helium valve was fixed to stop leakage? And if you find the appropriate crystal, let me know, I'd be interested in that too.
  2. You're right, though I never know which combinations are correct with these HBBs... That pic does make the knurl look flat though... will have to look at the other pics.
  3. The silix version seems to have a gold rehaut.. or is it a reflection?
  4. How is the ceramic bezel compared to the "ultimate" version?
  5. Good luck to the Blues... I'll be supporting them as well for that one game. And I hope it goes like this. man ure score early, dominate the whole game. injury time and Chelsea score from 2 flukey set pieces to win the European Cup As for watches, I should really mod what I have, PAM028, 029, 063, Chrono Avenger, Seawolf, both Ingenieurs, GST Chrono etc etc.
  6. The original poster has suspicions and is guided by his conscience. From his point of view, he is saying he will not support something that even has a chance of utilizing child labour. That's his prerogative.
  7. Perhaps it was a genuine dial ?
  8. only good version is the genuine... the reps are approximations of the real thing but not quite there. The Asian 7750 copy Rep has recessed date, non-working dateset pusher, incorrect Helium release valve, wrong date font, slightly incorrect dial, no AR etc. Markers have been known to fall off the bezel, while the Watchonpo version had screwed in markers but with a thin plating that was easily polished off the markers to reveal the material below... The 7753 has a cheap case (read kruzer's review). If you like the watch and don't want a super-accurate rep, go for it...
  9. File off a bit from the bar? or the strap? It seems the holes in the strap are just not big enough.... and right now watching the football !
  10. I had the same problem with the Ingenieur kevlar strap.. couldn't get the bars inside, even with out the watch
  11. That's a strange looking camera That's a strange looking camera
  12. Yes, I've noticed the same thing... I rarely look at getting a new PAM if I were to get a new rep... I've kept my original lot and i should just get them all modded.
  13. Perhaps it's also worth getting the Jimmy CG done as well, as that will be great for the olfer models, eg. PAM027, 028, 029, 063 etc
  14. I never received mine from Palp either.. I guess he's gone now. Perhaps you could collaborate with V if he makes his crown guards as well. I think he'll be using his genuine CG for that. Assuming he'll have any time to himself nowadays
  15. That's the only one I seen around lately too. Luckily I have 2 of my own already Ok sorry to gloat there... good luck!
  16. I've seen Rolli's pics before and thought they were great, but I'm not the expert on PVD Pams (that was finepics .. and his guy won't do them anymore). I may get an unbranded skeleton watch PVD'd though Any other experts like to chime in? Kruzer?
  17. You can only follow your conscience. If you can't sleep at night, then don't listen to others and follow what they believe. If it doesn't bother them, their conscience is also clear. I guess you have to do what you have to do for your own peace of mind, if nothing else.
  18. Perhaps we should all be donating money to where it's needed rather than these sorts of institutions, and others like these big churches on American TV where the pastor wears genuine blinged up Rolexes...
  19. I'll be doing the same with the PAM028 I got a couple years back when it was first out ... never worn it either! Also, I'm thinking of getting a bracelet PVD'd ... but will anyone do it if i separate all the links and unscrew all parts? Lug screws/spring bars will have to be done too. As well as a buckle or 2 for strap days. Only problem I have... who can do the genuine crown mod in the EU? I have the crown already... the genuine PVD one as well as SS and titanium ones.
  20. If it is true that child slave labour is used, there is every chance it is also used in genuine watches. We know many parts used in genuine watches are manufactured in China... cases, bezels, even movements! We know that many of these "factories" (sweatshops?) make genuine watches and parts by day, but gear up for reps "after dark". If that's the case, perhaps it is prudent to boycott *all* watches, just in case. Do you really want to take the chance that one of the small cogs in your "Swiss Made" ETA 6498 genuine Panerai was not made by a child against their will in China? Or perhaps the gasket in your Rolex was made in such a manner? Or perhaps the crystal was handled by a child? Perhaps casebacks were boxed up in this way? It's scary
  21. I take it that you don't see operas, museums, and botanical gardens of being of much use in the modern world?
