  1. pam, still waiting for the photos and the pricing, on the PM I sent you. will I ever hear back from you?
  2. Rob, Did you get David's hands in yet for a review? I am still waiting to possibly order the 127 dial and hands set from David, with no caps on the hands, and hope that the recessed pin will be gone. can we do a specific review just on those 2 parts mounting on a CN 6497? lol one can always dream, right?
  3. Just curious guys, been trying to contact him but no avail, wondering if everyone is experiencing the same. thanks.
  4. Pam, I have sent you numerous PMs and letting you know what my email address is, so that you can send some pics that way, but I have yet to hear from you. I have also asked you about the new price of the crowns at this time, and you have not reply back either. Can you reply back to me, or just let me know in the forum how much they cost? if you can send some pics to my email addy, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
  5. I've sent a question to ask the user in English. I'm Chinese but don't have an Chinese keyboard, or Chinese Windows XP......lol, I've asked him if he ships to US, and is this a genuine SWISS ETA 7750, or the Asian copy of the 7750. Hope he answers me back, in English no less. The price roughly translates to about $760.00. If it is indeed Swiss ETA, then that is not a bad deal at all.
  6. Hi Rob, Like I said before, I will wait until you get a hold of David's hands, and then get ready for mine to be sent in. Would love to see how your review goes after you received the hands. David, hope you don't mind that I wait for Zig's further review on this. Have a good week everyone....
  7. Hi Finepics, I just reread your post again. What I wanted to know is, since I am sending mine to Zigs for service and these installs. By buying Davidsen's 127 gold hands (without cap), is there any modification that Zigs would have to do with any of the hands, or would it just go on to the cannon pinion with no mod at all from him. Is that the same for the seconds hand as well. If you can clarify once more, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again. Woody
  8. Man, where did they find this writer? his knowledge of genuine watches is very poor."any watch that sweeps, is more than likely a genuine". not his exact words, but that's what he was saying.......how naive. I guess that is why he is writing for askmen.com, and not some watch magazine. can't say I can expect too much out of that guy.....
  9. Hi Finepics, I am thinking about getting David's 127 dial and hands that he carry, so I can have matching lume. so you are saying that by just using his regular gold 127 hands, we can install this, and no more recessed pin problem? how does this differ than let's say a 111, is the cannon pinion longer on the 127 versus the 111? Do you have any pictures of the 127s that you've done by any chance. I was just about to place the order with him, but your previous post is very intriguing. if you have more information on this, I would love to know about it. thanks.
  10. I think Andre ship via registered mail, that is why it takes longer. Andrew does not do EMS unless you pay extra for it, so it will be 7 to 10 days probably.
  11. woody

    Our thanks

    Thanks Rob!
  12. Hey Kruzer, are these the same ones that was on your 2893 in the pic you posted on RWG1? They kind of look different, or is it just me? I wanted to make sure that these were still the ones that Palp had originally planned to make, and I will take a couple for my eta 6497s. Thanks
  13. To this date, my favorite is still the Blancpain 1735. It mat not be the most expensive (still VERY expensive than any of us can afford). How many times, can you say that you have that many complications in one watch? The VC is nice, but I thought having a dual face watch, is just not that practical. that would be my holy grail, if there ever was one that I can afford that is. ps. most of them all have a busy dial. but I do feel that the Blancpain is very classy looking, and for a Parmagiani that costs $500,000, which had a history of 10 years as a watch house, is hard for anyone to plunk down 500Gs, just my opinion.
  14. So Ubi, That makes my so called 6263 not truthful as a real movement then, is that right? Since the vintages were all manual wind, and mine is the asian 7750. that is a lot of great information. I guess in a way could be blessing in disguise, since sometimes I am lazy to wind these watches. thanks again for the information.
  15. Hi Alligoat, Thanks for the reply. The movement I have is the Asian 7750, I believe the first gen, so I am rather using cautiously and may need some service, but so far, so good, hands reset correctly with no problem. what do you mean by assymetrical pushers? I don't quite get that, can you elaborate further? and wow, I did not know you can get this rep with all these different movement. Is it ok to assume the original 6263 as automatic movement? or were they mixed? and when did Rolex decide to make a chrono movement on their own and ditched the valjoux based movement? sorry for all of my questions, I am very new to vintage rolexes, and am somewhat intriqued by its history, and how they are made. I certainly love them 10 times more than the current daytonas. but that's just my opinion. thanks again everyone for their feedback, keep them coming if you have more insights!!
  16. NO worries with Josh, and this is coming from a guy that has yet to have dealt with Josh. You will be ok, he is a stand up guy..... Buckeye, are you from Ohio by any chance?
  17. sounds pricey to me, who are the dealers?
  18. Hi Ubi, During this time frame, did Rolex attempt to make these daytona in a different size, you know, like on Omega, they had a full mens, and mid size, so I was wondering if Rolex made a full (40mm) size 6263 during this time. Reason why I asked that was because I was browsing Paul's site, and he stated that his 6263s were 40mm in size. Does that mean his is not as accurate, or did Rolex make 2 sizes during that time? By the way, I love the way it looks, wearing it at work right now. only thing I would wish for is a bigger size watch, but it keeps the variety factor up with my Pams
  19. Thanks Bob, When I first started wearing it, I kept thinking to myself, boy, this bracelet sure is narrow. Plus it tapered towards the buckle, so sometimes I feel like as if I may be wearing a ladies watch. I feel the bracelet is quite flimsy, but then again, it is a rep afterall. Does the genuine bracelet on these 6263s also exhibit the cheap flimsy feel, or is it a totally different ball game that we are talking about. I figured if I need to ask anyone, you would certainly be the best, knowing that you are the resident Rollie expert. Thanks in advance again Bob. ps. I do plan to wear it as it is. One thing I love about this watch in particular is the sharp contrast with the white subdial hands on the black dial. They really stand out well.
  20. Hi fellas, I recently got a vintage daytona from one of our dealers. Being that I am not too familiar with older models, I was wondering if someone can let me in, as to what year this rep is trying to emulate, how good, or how bad a job it did trying to rep it, and also, as I measure this watch, its width is at 38mm, and not your typical 40mm. Did Rolex actually make this model in this size? Any feedback again, or input is greatly appreciated it. Thanks in advance.
  21. Welcome back Rob, can't type more, since I am at work and all. But just wanted to say good to see you here!
  22. It is 42mm I believe.
  23. I gotta say, it's pretty hilarious that Kenberg's entries are all over the place linking to the new RWG, classic. PS. on a sidenote, if what I read thus far is true, that is beyond sad, it is despicable. But then again, money changes everything right?
  24. New Fiddy that I just got today......with a Bob black gator PS. Sorry for the bad photo
  25. That is some sad stuff, day one, already it seemed that the baggage should not come along to the new board, it's already happening there, again. and i know this is a touchy subject, so we'll just keep it at that. let's hope for a good ending, and that indeed it's a joke.
