What Would You Do If This Came In The Mail Asa "new Watch
woody replied to panerai153's topic in General Discussion
This member told Arthur that he is shipping a brand new Red 1680, and Arthur got a bezel that is missing a pearl, and the bezel is not brand new, and then the lug holes issues, and the clock is still ticking for the member, as I am sure he is taking various exams. -

What Would You Do If This Came In The Mail Asa "new Watch

I think even in this case, and I REALLY hate to say it, when the member comes forth to offer his explanation, it is probably not going to be a sincere one anyway. If he has the time to offer Arthur 2 PM's, what is stopping him to stop by over here and offer an explanation. We may get the pitch that it is none of our business, and should be just be between him and Arthur. But in this instance, this is not the first time that something has gone wrong with this particular member. And whenever things go wrong, this member has always acted very defensive, like the world is out to get him, or that he looks like Ashton Kutcher! It is none of that, this is a community, and I think we take pride on taking care of one another, and to prevent others from being taken. And this needs an explanation, I just don't know how there can be a "good" explanation out of it. It's sad, really. -
Maybe the Norwegian custom agents are high on IQ and can identify packages really good? I don't know....

Arthur, I am very sorry that this is happening to you. It is a simple matter of having some courtesy. Based on the reply that I have seen with all these members, I have seen that 2 of those members I have done recent trades with. Sure, we are dealing with technically "illegal" goods, but I still think that promises/honors should be exchanged between the members. When I sold my watches, I always try to do my best, because I really do expect the same in return, just courtesy. And this is truly unfortunate. You have a lot of patience than I ever would. If I received the red 1680 after what I was told, I would be furious, and not even going to sound macho, but 2 states is not far away, and I would pay a visit with the member just to get things off my chest. Yes, it is no secret who it is, but I am shocked about all that has happened, and it was right there in front of us, when this member I think, had even said that he was so much looking forward to get another MBW. I am sick of this attitude, it is literally throwing salt on the wound........I am very, very sorry to hear about trades gone bad, but to gone this bad, it is inexcusable. I guess we will have to wait for some explanations again aren't we? this I got to hear, and can't wait, from this student of ours with the Gator logo in his sig........ -
at the usual going rate, pretty standard. I wish it was cheaper. but it is the going price at this time it seems

Has Anyone Had Any Correspondence With Cronomat123 ?

Bump for Arthur...... -
Hi new SM owners, As I peeked through some dealer pics, I think I may have noticed that the date alignment is off to the right, kind of suffering the same fate as the Link Chrono. I wanted to see if any of the owners can confirm this for me, as I am close to closing a deal with one of our dealers. That was a big thing that turned me away from the Link Chronos, and wanted to get your opinions on it. Thank you all in advance, and happy ticking/sweeping!!

There's a saying in Chinese that if you pair the color red and the color green, well, the result saying, well, let's just say it is not favorable. I think that should do it, and clearly illustrates it on that watch. LV rip off indeed.

When you buy a 183, you have to worry a little bit of the crown thread issue that has been discussed. It has been reported that some members have stripped the crown thread, and the movement no longer works. But I think you can now get replacement from Davidsen. I think as far as the movement, you need to buy the seller, and not the watch. If you have a good seller, then he can guarantee you will get a swiss versus asian and after sale service as well, if something comes up. Hope that helps.

Jetmid? oh no, nevermind, wrong thread.

Hi Smooth, hopefully I can help since Rob is a busy fellow. The new 7750 28800 bph has received rave reviews, as long as they do not have running seconds at 6. So any of the newer chronos that have seconds at 9, they will be fine. It is still recommended with a service. I have included Rob's original review of the 28800 Asian 7750. Please take a good look at the link since it is a fantastic read if you want to learn a littlle bit of the watchmaking from the zigmaster himself. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1414 I think overall, we have to duck any asian chronos with running seconds at 6, they are just problematic.

you are right, I am out of it. I keep up to a certain extent. That just reminds me that I have to order some tabloid mags. thanks for the explanation!

Good to know about happy ending. Happy ticking/sweeping!

I'll agree with Randy that Mayer's old stuff used to be better, I have not listened to him much these days. I was at his concert about a couple to 3 years ago, when he was the opening act for Counting Crows. Mayer got a lot of screams from the ladies, it would appear that he is a popular man. But having Jessica Simpson around his arms, I don't know if that is saying much, to be honest. She is a nice eye candy to a point, but not much beyond that. But yes, give props to the man having good taste in watches for sure.

Hi Pug, it is the most recent episode off season 3, episode 4, titled, "what I am". within the first 5 minutes, you'd see Burke trying to stitch a chicken up, and you will see the pam in question. Thanks.
-
I can't quite make out what was burke wearing in last week's episode, I think it is a fiddy. perhaps my tv screen was too dark, if someone can confirm/deny that, I would appreciate it, on wikipedia, they said burke was wearing a 196, but that shot of the watch looks to be too big for a 196, so I was curious.

Review Of A Rollie With $600 In Upgrades...
woody replied to RWG Technical's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
I have never dealt with Joe, but here is something that really puzzled me. It always appear that after a few post came forth about "where's joe?" or "something goes wrong with Joe" then Joe will come out of no where. If people are asking Joe where he is, it seemed to me that they are the ones that have sent Joe watches already. Which leads me to believe that Joe did not answer for them. If Joe can come forth and respond again, and let us know how many watches he has currently that is pending work, and come out with a time table, then I think everyone will be happy. Joe won't have to clarify himself again, and members won't have to keep asking "where is joe, and where is the watch?" until some serious time has passed after this so called time table has been posted. I think I can wait a long time too, if I know someone is really busy, but if there are any watches that Joe has in his possesion for more than 6 months, I think it would be appreciated if Joe can give some of those members an update. I hate to say it, I think it is only fair, especially if there are watches in Joe's place for more than 6 months, if there isn't, certainly Joe would get my apology first and foremost. Just by reading some of the stories, I truly feel bad for some of the members........happy timing, everyone... -
Review Of A Rollie With $600 In Upgrades...

$40 bj is pretty cheap, oh, you meant dial bj, yeah no, that is pretty pricey. Members, be warned. I am just thinking, if the "member" still have 100+ watches with him, at $100 a pop, he has over 10 grand worth of watches. What is he doing with all that watches now that he is not doing anything with it? -
I am glad that not only do I learn about watches when I frequent this board, I also get a lesson in history and a linguistics course at that. RWG rules!!!
-
Fantastic looking piece Gil, and now you are making me second guessing my recent purchase of the 1680. Maybe I should sell more of my other reps? lol
-
Thanks Pug, let's keep this project alive. it sounds so promising! Thanks again for your efforts Pug.

so David, what happened to your new and improved 16613? did you receive it yet? and is it me, or is this "eddie" member sounded fishy, as if he is affiliated with WM9? there are plenty of things that smell fishy. wm9, eddie, all smell fishy to me. and David, I know you want to, but I really think you should trust more with people that have more posts, really, that 300z guy and now Eddie seemed to both endorse this wm9 piece, and what did you end up getting? there really is a lesson learned here, I hope you have returned the watch to get your money back. good luck

wow i am jealous, those are some nice watches randy. having the chance to have chatted with both of you quite often, I would guess rock is the one on the right in the pic, and randy is in the back with the glasses......am I right, and what do I win? any one of randy's treasures in his chest? lol
