lol, was that a old pic with the girl in the pic, or was that a new one? you've had so many of those, I lost track of what is new and what is old, congrats on the watch, and you know, the other thing too. have a good week everyone...

I was told that all dials in this version (where you have a bigger seconds subdial at 9) all have misaligned datewheel, meaning it is more to the right, than center. Can anyone confirm it? Neil, if you can, I would appreciate it also. I was given that information by one of the dealers, but wanted to confirm. Thank you.

Hi guys, Was wondering if any of you have any extra set that can spare. I was too lazy to purchase it when we have the chance to place the order through the jeweler, and now they are on backorder. If any of you have an extra set and don't mind to spare, I would really appreciate it. Please PM me if anyone has any extra. Thanks guys and have a good weekend. Woody

I believe that is a "Jacob the jeweler" watch, catering to the rappers and a lot of celebrities who like the bling factor.

The Beast - I Suspect It Won't Be Long Now!
woody replied to Watchmeister's topic in General Discussion
if you look at eddie's album, you will notice that both the 30 minute counter and the 12 hour counter, both of the hands are misaligned and off to the left. that looks like a big QC issue. if the 212 swiss cost about 550, and 196 swiss cost about 600. it's not that bad for that big hunk of metal of the 187 to be running at $750, so who is going in? lol -
Nice watch! Great choice on that one. Happy to know that it finally arrived after 3 months. That wait must be very grueling. But I certainly hope it was worth it!

A little update on the Cannon pinion and hour wheel
woody replied to cwai02's topic in General Discussion
Hi Roy, so do they still have plenty in stock? also, which way would be easier, through "contact us" way or actually call them at the 800 number to order? if we are calling, is there a specific person that we need to talk to, and what do we mention to get the shipping for $5. if you can clarify further, would appreciate it. -
So Tommy, when they finish making the first batch for testing, it will all be 2.0mm? Would that be the case? Or would there be some ultra thick 2.2s being made as well? Thanks again for all of your efforts.

Thanks for the info T. This was also an issue with the old Overseas I believe that the screws are not made to last very long. Good info nonetheless.

Read a true story about JOE and tell all your friends !
woody replied to namor's topic in General Discussion
XRT, The thing that I think that puzzled a lot of the members, me included, is that as a "friend", Joe replied to you this week.....if Joe can reply to you real quick that he is behind and try to catch up with work, then I think at least Joe should have a bit more of courtesy to at least come on the forum to address other members, at least give an update, and say " I am sorry, I am sick, watches will be delivered and I am working on it still" whatever it may be. But the lack of communication is what drives some of the members wild. clarification is what this board needs. Not addressing the forum, but instead addressing it to you seemed strange. After all, if I was coming to your home to install cable, and cannot make it due to some unforeseen circumstances, I would not call your neighbor to say I can't make it, but I would rather call you.......that is what the board members need, clarifications.....and I think it is at least due.....maybe you can contact Joe to come forward since you are his friend?..... -

I have not dealt with Joe as of yet, but was actually thinking about possibly doing so. But I do hope that Joe will come out and clear any of this up. Just even one sentence being said here to let all the other members know that their watches are still all intact would be good. let's all hope this will have a good ending. sorry to hear about your experience namor. -
If we are talking closer to genuine. the problem with the black painted caseback H series, is that in the H series, there are 1200 made, and not 1000 made, and that kills it a bit. I have acquired a caseback with no paint, G series, and think that I am on my way there. along with recessed pin fix and relume by Zigs, and a good new thicker crown when Palp's project finalized, I think we may have the ultimate 005. Someday I hope.....that I can post that photo. Have a good weekend fellas.

go for it, it saves you time from winding every other day or so. if you do not care too much about staying true to movement wise, why not jump in and grab it? good luck
-
that plastic spacer is what bothers me more than the other flaws. It just seemed inexcusable......just my 2 cents.

Hi Randy, Yes I am looking for a good after market one. RGJ told me once that he was able to get some of these better dials that had superluminova on it, and I was just wondering if I can source these myself. Do you know any good aftermarket ones?
-
Hi guys, Wanted to know where I can source a good LV dial, that has the thin silver outlined circles around the markers, and that it has superluminova. I checked the bay but was not able to find any. If anyone knows of a good place to source these, please share your insights if you don't mind. Thanks in advance as always.

"Officine Panerai" Engraving on 217 Destro
woody replied to Watchmeister's topic in General Discussion
I did not know that the wording in the panerai website is like the rep, very interesting. -
can the mods check on the email address of this seller, and see if it matches any members' email address, it is nbkriver11@aol.com. is there such a way, mods? this guy needs to be banned at the least, just my 2 cents.

I found a photo of a 036 from one of the timezone post. since I do not want to steal the photo of the faithful paneristi, I will just post the link of the post below. But as you can see, it does say TSWISS T on the dial. If anyone can actually validate the L SWISS L dial on a gen 036, it would be interesting to know. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg...897#msg_1880909

Hi Kruzer and Chronus, no knock on Joshua and other dealers, but there are few versions of the 036. Josh's, also, I think among others, have a ever so slightly misaligned dial. It is just off by a tiny few degrees, but if you are nick picky, then that may not be for you. I was doing my research a while back, and really was so close on pulling the trigger with Joshua's. But eventually backed away simply because I thought about the dial long and hard, and know that the dial would bother me enough. Otherwise, the 036 that Joshua sources, it is so good, that you don't have to do much work with the crown, or the pin. I evnetually settled with a different version of the 036, and am just taking the time to get the pin fix, and hoping that Tommy's revised pam crowns will work out, that I can source a Ti crown to fit on my 036. I do like the 177 a lot, since it has a sandwich dial. The brown dial is really something different on a Pam though. It gives you a different feel. If you feel ok with the dial issue, Joshua's is the one to get, definitely......

PAM 212 1950 Flyback Sapphire A/R Crystal Project
woody replied to JWR's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Hi Jonathan, I am interested, in the context that if I work out a deal to acquire one. But if I am able to get one, then certainly yes, I'd be interested. Thank you. -
where did you get the 217 from Ti? Just imagined, if the asian movement sport some faux swan neck, it would be a darn good rep....
