  1. his/her feedback score is not that great, and would you really trust to buy someone who also sell LV bags that turn out not to be genuine? I would be hesitant, I don't know about you guys......
  2. hey rocket, randy and tt, please be sure to take lots of pictures, and when you are done Rocket, take some pictures of the watches too .....eagerly awaiting the photos. have a great time guys
  3. hmmm, gio, $40 for relume work. I would love to see how it turns out. please be sure to post the aftershots of the relume process. this could turn out to be beneficial to US members, if they do not need to have watch service, they can possibly bring it to this place, IF they do a good job. By the way, with your handle and your gf's pic, neither of you are Americans. am I right? just curious.....great pics. Please post some 005 pics with your gf also.
  4. since the seller mainly sell watches on the bay, I would be more inclined that the watch is real. the date mag, cg and everything all looks good, so is the rehaut. so it's pretty much all good. plus the maxi dial markers look good as well. I would say it is real, but you would never know that 100% sure, unless you crack the caseback open......
  5. Can't wait, since I will be getting my 1680. good stuff Randy.
  6. man, that sucks. I am very sorry for your loss Tom. to be honest, for anyone who named himself "hewhoislikegod" bugs me. I don't know why, and since we are all just sit behind our computers, other than a very few get together, by me just reading that handle, on the surface, to me, it sounds like someone perhaps who is very full of himself, and may also have some god complex issues. that is just me, it will be interesting to see how it pans out.....
  7. Hi Rob, welcome back. I've sent you a PM and hope to speak with you soon. take care.
  8. Hi Tommy, Any of the sandblasted ones still available? Or have they all been spoken for? Wanted to know about it. Thank you
  9. my asian 6497's lettering is crooked as hell, and I have thought about lining them, but I did not think it was possible, cause I am afraid of breaking the actual letters. Does anyone had any tutorial on how to do this, and what tools would one use to correct the alignment of the letters.....any help is greatly appreciated.
  10. While BT is at it, can we ask for a better date wheel than the current one that's shown Joshua? just voicing opinions, not that this would stop me from buying it possibly because of the datewheel. can't wait
  11. Hi Rob, are you fully back now at this time? Just curious to know since I have a few watches that could use your nice touch....please let me know! Thanks. PS. sorry to hijack the thread by the way.
  12. Well guys, With all the recent hot trend towards these new IWC chronographs, I can't help but thinking, when can we expect this fine watch to be produced. I think on the surface, it looks to be relatively simple. The chronograph layout is pretty standard. The GST chronos already have the same layout, and perhaps even the day/date wheel is there too. So what is left for this watch to be produced? bracelet? casing? That should not be that hard too, since the casing is at 42mm, and not like a regular big pilot. The only thing I would worry about is the day/date wheel alignment, and the recessed subdials. Other than that, I would say I'd enjoy this watch a bit more than the GSTs. As a current GST owner, I must say, I do not like the skinny hour/minute hands in general. They are ok, but when you compare it with the pilot's more visible/beefier hands, there is no comparison. Perhaps some of our dealers can also be looking at this thread. I think this can be done, as long as manufacturer's willing to produce, thinking there could be a profit margin. Who wouldn't want a watch like this? Heck, why don't we get a pre group buy started already?!! a guy can dream, can't he?
  13. Now who do we have in Australia that can contact this person to get it straightened out. anyone? I can't believe this crap is still going on. sorry to hear about that Andrew.
  14. the $119 one seemed to have better date font (thicker), the $129 one seemed to have a thinner date font. I think the difference between the two, and the $119 seemed to have the old CG, but the pearl looks better in my opinion than the $129 one, and the rehaut seemed to be the same for the two. But if what Paul says it's true, that the $129 have been sent in for service, then it would be a great value. but hey, who would really take Paul's words here?
  15. I think if and when Paul gets his hands on these, they will be going for at $189-$199. But the question remains, who would want to deal with Paul based on some mixed reviews, and the fact that Paul does not take Paypal? PS. Pug, I would like some friends too, now that I had a look at the new feature, look at you pimping there with 21 friends, where can I get some friends, I wonder.....
  16. now you guys are reminding me why I had so much trouble with chemistry in school.....
  17. Do we have an update on the latest situation with this?
  18. We no longer see Sichuan being listed in the dealer section, I was just wondering if the mods have banned him from trading in here based on some of the reviews being posted recently. If anyone can answer that, I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks guys, and mods....
  19. my 176
  20. yeah I'll do it a lot while watching TV or movies, and pointing them out to my wife. And my wife used to think I am some weirdo for noticing people's watches, but since I have gotten a MOP dial datejust, she is slowly warming up to reps, she still thinks the ladies Rolexes are too big!! But she started to notice what is on people's wrist too, so I have rubbed off on her. When I noticed something on TV, I would make a comment about it, and my wife will tell me to rewind it on DVR to show it to her, so I think that part is kind of fun, to have something to share together.....
  21. in a short answer, no
  22. hey Admin, if I remembered correctly, didn't you buy a latest version of Overseas when it first came out? Did I remember it wrong? Just curious, did you wanted another one or something?
  23. I will try the sunning technique from sproc. And see if that will help a bit. Think I will keep it in my car in the blazing sun in the next few days. Thanks guys. Congrats on the upcoming new addition as well to you Randy. Doc, I have 4 of Drew's straps, although they are not of the same kind of leather as the Maestro, but none of them smell as strong as that one, so I don't know. The only thing I can think of is that Maestro's was not treated, but it may appeared that I am of the only few that has this Maestro strap, so I guess we can never confirm if it is a Maestro issue or not. Take care.
  24. No offense taken guys. Maybe I should reword my title as not stink, but rather, strong smell or something. I do not want to use bleach, cause I don't what color is going to do to the strap. I tried to use just general soap last night, but the smell is still there. oh well, we'll keep the topic open, perhaps some "leather specialists" will give me some more insight on this, am I right?
  25. No, Kostas, I am not kidding. I have other leather straps, and not rep ones, and none of them smell as strong as this Maestro strap. I just don't know why. You really can literally smell the strap while you are typing. If it does not do that, then it would not have bothered me as much. And I don't know what to do, since this started to become of having fun on the topic thing. The shoe repair seems viable, but at the same time, an extreme measure I think. Imagine the person that I bring it to, for treatment on 2 small strap. But for sure, none of my other leather strap smells, maybe it is of a different kind of leather? I don't know. Does anyone else have one of these Maestro Historic strap that can verify? Thanks.
