By 'The Toad' in a thread about the age old arguement "who has the best......" Toad helped for a few replies, asking the poster to read the 'noob guide', but OP was persistant so 'The Toad' then threw this beaut down! Some of the reps (most of the new ones) are very accurate...but some of the flaws may drive you crazy if you have an eye for detail. Again...judging by your repeating of questions...this does not appear to be the case. You have to decide for yourself which watch you want based on the reviews...because the one you want might not in fact be available in a high end form. Read the guide. 'Nuff said. Toad out. And damnit I wanted to put in DMZ's hamburger quote!! That was a class one!

I got snapped in half backwards through a car in a motorcycle accident about 7 years ago, last couple of years my back has gotten much worse and I started having seizures, I was on HUGE amounts of medication, pretty much all of it opiate based. I was taking 60-70mg of diazipam a day, 100ml of morphine and a load of other pain meds. My main problem was a neuro desease though, my fits got worse and finally I got taken into hospital last year by ambulaance. I had a really bad seizure in the ambulance which carried on into the hospital, about 2 hrs I'd say, when I came too I had no feeling at all down the right side of my body (my right leg was mostly paralysed from the bike accident so was no real change there). I ended up having to stay in a neuro ward in the hospital for about 4 months I think, the week before I was due to get home I had a really brutal seizure, when I came too I was completely blind and have been ever since. This was about 7 or 8 months ago I think, I have had no sight at all since then, not even 'shade sight' where you can tell if its light etc, all I see is black. Since then I have worked real hard trying to change my life around my disabilities, I'm doing ok I think. I managed to get on a course with the Royal National Institute for the Blind ( RNIB ) and they have been teaching me to use a screen reader called Jaws to navigate around the screen, and you can use a computer without ever having to touch a mouse, so I have worked my ass off learning anything and everything I could and now it looks like I might be going back to work in the nexr month or so. Well I really hope to be anyway. So there you go, my wee tale. I still have a pretty good memory for watches and really know what I like, and some of the guys on here like TJ, Hike USA, his Royal Pugwashness, have all been great in being my 'eyes' and helping me out if I like the sound of a watch then they will have a look for me and let me know how it is, but mainly my dad is my 'eyes' and since he is as big an enthusiast as me it all works out great!

Bump, for Chicken Manny and Nanuq

I'm a qualified Cisco Network Engineer, I specialise in VoIP. Well I was, I'm going to college for the blind to learn to use the computer well enough so I can go back to what I was doing. I also had a Body Piercing business, been piercing for 9years, but I doubt I'll get much custom now!!lol Not much call for a blind piercer I wouldnt have thought!!

Not DOXA, but pretty cool and unusual. Well for me anyway, I'm sure you guys have heard and seen before. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3DLVI%26ps%3D54

Hey guys, my folks, well my dad, found some very cool wallets on ebay the other week. I've been going through a rough patch and they wanted to get me a wee something to cheer me up. Long story short is that they found this store on ebay and found something that has been a bit of a grail for me, a rep of Keith Richards from the Stones, skull ring. I have loved this ring for YEARS!! until now there have just been horrid copies of it, until they found it!! *angels sing in harmony* lol Anyways, also on the site is some very cool wallets and belts, they bought me a stunning sharkskin and stingrayskin wallet! I'm waiting for a sharkskin strap for my Skyland from a fellow member and if it's anything like this I'm going to be SO happy!! I know it sounds a bit much to accessorise (sp?!?) a watch strap, but hey we love the watches!! He has some very nice croc wallets and hornback wallets and belts. Unfortunately my screen reader is being a swine tonight so I can't locate the picture file I have of my wallet at the moment, but I will paste the address and you can have a wee looky if you like! Also there is a lot of jewellery on there that is stereo typical 'biker' kinda stuff, but the ring I got was amazing quality! So please don't be put off by the huge silver 'knuckleduster' type rings you see!! lol http://stores.ebay.co.uk/acazii-store Hope you enjoy. N6

Great job Ziggy!! I think you have put a LOT of AP ROO owners minds at ease with just this one post!! lol Seriously, great work!! I would be interested to hear a discussion with yourself and Francisco, who also done a sterling job in his 'poke about' the secs@12 movement. There seems to be 2 VERY differing opinions! With 2, very obviously, inteligent men I think the out come would prove invaluble to the community? But from what I can gather, from both reviews, is that these movements appear to be being shipped without any real care, ie greased and oiled movements. If people are having so many problems with them, the one Ziggy used was totally seized, it would appear that the way the movements are being used and shipped is the problem rather than the movement it's self? I'm no watch smith or expert by any means, but this would seem a fair arguement to me?! Anyone care to add? If you think I'm talking rot, then please say so and I'll shut up, but it seems, to my 'noobie' brain, that this could be where the problem lies?
-
This is part of the reason I love this place!! Ziggy helps out someone who, in reality, could take business away from him! But rather than screw him and see him in a jam, he comes right up with the goods to help out!! Not only that, he doesn't charge him!! Now this is a true brotherhood! You are a top fella Ziggy, I don't know you at all, other than the extensive reading on here, but you seem like a great guy 'salt of the earth' as my gran would have said! Hike, dude you're back!! Message me and tell me how you got back out of Jaws!!!
-
Hahaaha, you're not wrong there Relox!! There sure isn't any 10.10 pictures in there!!!
-
That Ebel is stunning! Very nice pics as ever By-Tor! The frames are a nice wee touch for sure!

Market value of a serviced white dial Explorer II?

It may be worth asking Lanikai? Or if you are reading Lani chip in? I'm fairly sure Lani pulled the trigger on one of these not long ago, or at least put out one of his famous Gentelmanly heads up on one he was looking at, so he wasn't bidding against 'one of the family' so to speak.
