  1. Nice inventory... While on the subject of OEM parts for PAMs. Does anyone have a PAM part number lookup for straps and buckles? --oh and see my signature WTB...
  2. Judging by the house in the background, I find it difficult to believe they are buying Gen's. Just sayin... Could anyone tell if the Breitling they were wearing was actually real?
  3. On the flip side Kurt, the hands and stems you sent to me made it safe and sound. I have two post offices equal distance from me. I tend to mix it up a bit. I also use the USPS Click-N-Ship most of the time and the self-service drop area. Maybe even adding $10 of insurance for a few cents will throw off the mail thief at the PO. Good luck! P.S. My local mail man who used to wonder about my frequent asian shipments is now totally cool. It must have been the "Target Gift Card" I gave him for Christmas. Bribes help.
  4. More pics comparing magnification and crowns: Black - Rep, White - Gen
  5. Date Mag reference below. These watches do not have the super mag that you see on the likes of Subs or especially vintage subs like the 1680. My Noob/BK Black face mag is actually OVER magnified. The mag is relative to the rehaut depth. Since these are pretty shallow they don't magnify as much. (I learned that last bit from Ubi at lunch the other day)
  6. I stumbled upon the following. VINTAGE 300T SHARKHUNTER - VINTAGE SEIKO 6309 - 7049 http://www.doxa300t.com/6309shark/6309shark.htm Enjoy
  7. While I have not seen the "Gun-Metal" markers you describe, be careful what you wish for. My Gen is not BLACK/BLACK. They are a matte charcoal (a shade or so darker then what I would call Gun-Metal -or- a shade lighter than black). We could get our wish but the markers will probably be Glossy Black that will be an equal tell.
  8. When I saw the title of this post, and your avatar, I was immediately thinking about another kind of "Happy Ending"
  9. Have a need for serious Chrono use today...
  10. Curious, how did he know the 111h you were wearing was a rep? Does he actually know the brand, or did you tell him previously?
  11. I feel like the Seiko defender here. I know we are used to dealing with Rep prices, but as a wishful WIS I like to remain objective. This is not overpriced in the least when comparing the technology, accuracy, durability, etc. (One Second Per day, 72hr Reserve, hand assembled, smoothst sweep of any mechanical watch) I held and played with the Seiko Ananta GMT. http://www.seiko-ananta.com/ At around $6000, this watch literally destroys my Gen Rolex Explorer II or GMT IIc at a similar price point. My Explorer II feels like a cheap chinese rep compared to the Seiko. In a toe-to-toe battle on mechanical merit, I fail to see anything close in this price range. (You can own a Spring Drive just under $4000 new). I think the hang up here is with the "Brand Name". If these were coming with a Rolex crown on them, they would be sold out and you would be paying $20,000 for it. So in a way it is a value in the world of high end timepieces.
  12. Wish I found that sooner. I paid $65 for what appears to be the SAME strap.
  13. Just in case-- This watch should NOT be confused with a battery operated quartz or a kinetic/eco quartz. This is a mainspring driven automatic mechanical watch. Instead of a traditional escapement/balance, the mainspring is regulated by the quartz/IC which applies a "brake" to how quickly the mainspring unwinds. That is it. There is no battery, it is just like a traditional automatic. As for the diver, and the cost, keep in mind the Spring drive is available in dress watches, GMTs, divers, etc. Something for everyone.
  14. Great watch. I have played with some spring drives (the Anata). Honestly, these are probably the best mechanical movements made to date. The "Sweep" of the seconds is TOTALLY smooth since the watches don't tic-toc. The balance (if you want to call it that) spins one way non-stop. This puts to shame 28.8 and even 36k bph movements. It is also the most accurate. 72 hr (3day) Power Reserve. Here is the video on the technology. Spring Drive starts at 1:22 in and at 4:00 the in depth tech, in case you want to skip to the good stuff:
  15. Current, but will be swapping dial thanks to HikeUSA soon...
  16. Welcome. After it arrives, post some pics.
