  1. +1. Also, the slide rule lines up all the way around and I don't think I have seen a rep of that one before...
  2. Welcome! Enjoy the ride and good luck with your search. If you can't find it here it's not out there.
  3. Look good for a first go. I think the dial is a bit too plain for me. Very cool to try making your own piece Did you start with one of these as the basis of your creation? I have that bracelet for my SOH and I like it a lot. Good choice! Looking forward to seeing your other creations.
  4. Thanks for the review Helps a lot in deciding on something for my wife.
  5. Nice looking piece. I really like the box too. Quality appears top notch. Thanks for sharing and wear it well!
  6. Pretty cool watch. Nice find!
  7. You can do it that way too. You just need to find a rep friendly watchsmith that will do it for you. While you have it cracked open you may want to get the movement serviced as well to give her a longer life.
  8. I think what you are proposing will theoretically work....a "c" shaped date wheel that wraps around any overlapping gears and has an overall height that reaches the backside of the dial. Like this.... However I think the manufacture and modifications to the required parts will be so difficult that it probably isn't worth doing. Firstly the upper date wheel will have to be slightly thinner then the first plate to be able to clear the second plate gear train and also stay below the backside of the dial (not sure if they are normally that thin so you may have to make one). The first plate will have to be cut back far enough to accomidate the width of the date wheel since it will reside at the same level. Then the real trick.... in order to assemble/disassemble the movement the attachment of the two date wheels would need to be done so that you can actually get them appart. I suppose you could glue them as you built up the movement but you will never get it apart again....at least not without breaking it. It would be fun to mess around with for sure. Let us know if you give it a shot.
  9. Yup. You are right. Good memory! I must have been too busy looking at the girl!
  10. Yeah...not so much meat in there really. Some cool bits like the TAG museum though. Still havent spent a whole lot of time checking it out. I did notice they had a "watch school" as one of the boutiques. Gonna have to look at that a little closer.
  11. Thats dead sexy!!! Well done Avitt and thanks for sharing the inside scoop. Yet another one I have to add to the list!

  13. Hello All! I came across this an add for this in the NY Times so I thought I would check it out. Only poked around for a few minutes but thought it was pretty cool. Just a few manufacturers up and running but it looks as though many more are in the works. Thought I would share... The Watch Avenue Cheers!
  14. Cool! I love it. Great work guys. I'm in! Can't figure out how to make the image a link though??
  15. Hello all! I came across this article and found it quite fascinating so I thought I would share. World's most complicated watch One heck of a watch made by true craftsmen and funded by a complete watch nut! Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.
