  1. Good thread idea, nice to see a catalog of everyone's experience in one place, not spread about the forum. I'm relatively new to the rep scene, but ive had great experiences so far with my 4 watches! Watch name: TAGHeuer Carrera Racing Movement: Asian 7750 28,000 BPH Used since: Purchased in May 2008, worn practically daily for basically the remainder of the year, never skipped a beat. Serviced: Not yet, but it's in the plans. Been keeping the 'miles' off it recently to be one the safe side. Defects: Takes a little while to 'start up', but it was like that from day 1. Otherwise none, it's been a flawless timekeeper and my favorite watch. Might lose 30s in a day, but has not been regulated. Other: Given how well its performing, i'm almost tempted not to service it. But i want to keep it for a long time, so i'm planning on getting it serviced soon. Until then, I only really wear it occasionally just in case. This watch usually follows me to the racetrack, has gone karting with me (high vibration) on occasion, and I use the chronos regularly. Even handwound on occasion. No ill side effects so far. Watch name: Rolex Submariner (n00bmariner) Movement: "Asian ETA" 2813 Used since: August 2008 (i think). Worn at least 1-2x a week. Serviced: No plans to, either. Defects: Easily my most unreliable watch. Sometimes i'll look down to my wrist and its lost anywhere from 5-60 minutes, but that's fairly uncommon. Sometimes if i set it down on a surface the watch will stop if its not laying perfectly face up it will stop completely until i lay it flat, and it will start again. Oh, worst power reserve ever too. Even if i wear it all day it will stop the next day in the watch box....have to wear it several days in a row to keep it going for more than 24 hours in the box. When it's running it keeps pretty good time, actually. I'd say +/- 30s/day. Other: I beat the crap out of this thing, relatively. I take it where i don't take my other watches (camping, hiking, swimming, I even wear it when i work on my car...thats right). I guess i'm running my own durability test to see how long it can hold up! The pearl has since vacated, and there are a couple scratches on the bezel & bracelet, but cosmetically its holding up fine. Watch name: Pam 113 Movement: Asian Unitas 6497 Used since: November 2008. Worn a couple times a week, usually kept wound more than its on my wrist. Serviced: Not yet. Defects: None. Freaking bomb proof. Other: Definitely the most pampered watch I own, don't wear it that often and when i do, its casual. Keeps awesome time and has a 60 hour power reserve. Yikes. Watch name: 42mm Omega Planet Ocean (the POrikaa) Movement: Asian 21J Used since: May 2009. Turned into my most frequent daily wearer. Serviced: Not yet. Defects: None. Other: This thing kept perfect time (to +/- 5 sec) out of the box, and hasnt changed since. Nice power reserve & I can take it off my wrist and leave it in the box for a day or two and not worry about winding it back up. Phenomenal watch for the money. And who says that the asians arent reliable?
  2. Well this is quite interesting, some very positive feedback so far. This the kind of dealer that our hobby needs more of, people who love it and just aren't in it for a profit margin. Same watches as the other dealers at rock bottom prices? That's a no brainer. Been wanting to get a TAG F1 Chrono for a while now, this guy might just do it for me.
  3. Nicely done, a gorgeous movement like that should not be hidden!
  4. So has King or anyone else's source made mention of a more accurate Monza rep? The two are often talked about in the same breath, so it's only natural!
  5. Glad i'm not the only one who does this...i feel crazy sometimes....
  6. What about the new compact subdial A7750? The one that they're using in some of the new Omega reps?
  7. My favorite version of the Monaco, hands down. I was this close to buying that for my first rep as well...just couldnt bring myself to buy a Quartz version. Nice watch...enjoy it!
  8. Yesss! I think i speak for many members when i say....IT'S ABOUT DAMNED TIME! Now lets see a good rep of the Monza, as well! (personally, i like the Monza better than the Monaco)
  9. Usually i would agree with you. Farve made a stupid move and certainly tarnished his legendary status a little, but Lance Armstrong had a mighty fine comeback...and is coming back in 2010 from what i understand! Schumacher is a different story, however. The guy is simply the most complete driver in history, there has never been a more dedicated racing driver. IMO, he retired about 3 years too early, and could have still fought for the WDC into his forties. He's still probably fitter than most of the field, and there's no question to his dedication, even with 7 titles in his back pocket. I think the reason that 'schu retired in '06 was because he wanted to go out on the top of his game, so i'm sure this is a highly calculated move in returning to the cockpit (not to mention hes a good friend of Massa's). He is absolutely a threat to win in Valencia.
  10. Nice! Thanks for that!
  11. Nice, been getting ready to buy one from them myself. They have a very wide selection, and looks like a good strap for the price.
  12. For torrents, the best site around is https://www.racing-underground.com/ F1 torrents are usually up practically before the champagne dries, and from all the various feeds around the world (BBC, SPEED, Spain, etc). I've lived with the pain that is no SPEED Channel, its not fun. Is it too early to predict 'Schu for the '09 WDC?
  13. For some reason, Monacos always seem to wear gigantic (more so than they should). It is interesting, thats for sure.... How's the build quality?
  14. Valencia is going to be awesome! I can't wait, i'm so giddy at the prospect of seeing Schumi v Kimi v Alonso v Hamilton v Button v Vettel v Webber. Especially Kimi vs MS in equal equipment! I think this will just add to the Schumacher legend, especially if he wins. And i dont think that's out of the question, either. The F60 has made some significant development strides, and can now punch with the Brawns and Redbulls (and McLarens, apparently). And with The Schu in that seat....? When is Valencia, again?! A month?! Nooo!
  15. Ooooh, do share some wristies when you get it. Interested to see what this looks like in the flesh!
  16. Wow! What a great pic! Thanks for the new desktop, mate!
  17. I'm jealous....WSR is good racing, and at Silverstone of all places! Those M
  18. Absolutely one of the best GP wins in my recent memory. Webbo has always been a favorite of mine. Supremely talented, but for some reason never in the right equipment...at least someone believed in him! Finally he's in the right seat at the right time. As much as I like Vettel, i really hope Webber gives Jens a legitimate run for the title. He deserved this win too, really a superb drive...one of the best in the last couple seasons. He wasn't gifted the win like so many 'firsts', that makes it all the sweeter.
  19. That pic is effing legendary
  20. You're just being too paranoid. I've had my Carrera for over a year, wearing it more often than all my other watches (on my left hand too), and i've never had a problem. Just don't take it on a dive and you should be fine.
  21. I don't dare take my Carrera swimming, much less submerge it for any length of time (lack of a screw-down crown and pushers are too much a risk for water entrance, imo. besides, i have other reps that are designed for water play). I've run it under a tap and gotten it wet when washing my hands plenty of times, nothing to worry about. Splashing water on your watch won't do a thing to it, keeping it submerged under water is a different story... Good idea to grease the gaskets for some extra security, however. (besides, the Carrera is for driving, not swimming! )
