  1. Here are some pictures for your pleasure: removing hands...Old school method. ETA ETA for oiling the jewels... Waterproof tester machine I, myself Regards
  2. from my understanding, steel 316L is the most common steel used in jewellry and high grade watches.. Demanding steel 904L will increase material costs at least 3x... And the cnc shop will be very surprised about your election, because steel 904L is industrial. I think cases will get more expensive, but I too would prefer 904L. I would like to see cases with lugholes too. Of course, engravings around the lugs should be deleted... You just can avoid this issue of giving them a case by casting the piece from silicone or wax. Please keep us informed, sure you will have demand from us...I would buy for myself 2 cases...preferibly with lugholes..
  3. Hey beemer, so you want to run the group buy then? Have you talked with ttk yet?
  4. vmena and I have discussed this issue before... Aint that uh? When placing an order for a cnc job, you should specify a lot of issues, of course tolerances... The more exact, the more expensive the project is...and at 0.01m...be ready to pay a kings ransom...well, no need such tolerance.. Think about how you are planning to duplicate that case..Are you going to digitalize your case? Are you going to provide 2d technical drawings? the second option is more cheap bytheway..., but you need to have drawing skills, or have someone to do it. I think that if you come to a cnc shop with the case in your hands they may get very [censored], and they will ask you a fortune to fund the design study and the process study....
  5. I have seen a franken submariner (from member BASE I think) I dont know about gmt cases, but submariner cases (16610) may have the same issue concerning crown-stem position, rehaut deepness... But according to his pictures, he achieved a nice result. I think it may depend on the spacer ring at all. We have pushed our dealers to bring us a perfect 1:1 replica submariner, 1:1 replica gmt... But no luck at all. We all know that submariner and gmt replicas are their bestsellers...So why would they bother to make the ultimate-definitive version? That would allow us to stop buying and buying again the same watch... Bad business for dealers then... I think that the ultimate-definitive version will be brought by some specialized-hardcore member, and not by a dealer. And whoever will be, he will get congratulations from us.
  6. So your friend is involved in cnc machines, right? Steel 904 should be the right choice. I dont mind about serial numbers. But please, make the case with lugholes.... About the bezel and other parts....That would be a lot of a hell complicated.. No need to cast those pieces...Believe, only duplicate the case.. I think it would be easier to order the parts to some good aftermarket manufacturer. Keep us informed please.
  7. I was lucky to find a watchmaster to work with reps. He works in the same city than I live, so I see him very often. He can remove a rolex dial feet to adjust them to eta movement, has a lot of tools and services eta by dissambling the whole movement. Aint expensive at all.
  8. who is the dealer? thanks
  9. Count me in. After all, its a cheap rep to have fun with.
  10. I have been told that rich brazilians put replica watches in their safes with some cash money so when thefts come to rob them get nothing but crap.
  11. She is now definetly a happy girl!
  12. At first I was scared when reading the title of your thread. Definetly not your cup of tea.
  13. Listing removed. Why do you think listing was removed?
  14. Red 1680 from luckyyy. I ordered white. Got red instead. I dont like red because I cant read well submariner However I felt "luckyyy" after hearing some stories from members here. A good friend of mine lost 300 usd for the special two tone sub. He never got it. I think paying for a watch and not receiving it is the biggest dissapointment. I wore very little that red 1680. I must say it is a watch with a huge potencial, and I like the raised and thick crystal. I traded it to vintage lover repaustria. I now have a white Wm 1680 and I have 2 genuine crystals, but I still have to perform some mods. Maybe my good old friend repaustria can help me.
  15. Now I see the project you was working last days... Amazing! Guys look at that thick crystal! Does tw gmt fit genuine crystal? I like it very much. Also look at those old endlinks! I definetly like it..I forgot to mention: red and black, thats the right insert! Your tatoo is very cool too!
  16. The holy grail I suposse. Very Nice job. So, the vintage datewheels project started solely for the purpose of improving this piece right? Randy, you are truly a legend my friend, and not only for your craftmanship but because of your generosity and deep knowledge on the issue..Regards.
  17. Spacer ring is custom made. aint should be difficult, but I lack skills to perform that. I even dont have a rolex opener... The spacer ring was done by a proffesional watch repairer, someone who lives by doing these things and has a watch repairing business related. He fitted the movement and glued overlay..I must say I am lucky enough to have someone to perform these things. You know most watch repairers dont even touch a rep...
  18. WM tudor sub...The best rep out there I say.
  19. And Rolex 15000, now belongs to friend:
  20. Damn! Those subs will become collectibles and hard to get.
  21. I would say: Go The Zigmeister!
  22. I think the gen 16200 datejust fits caliber 3035 which aint slow beat. (28000 bph?) caliber 1570 is more slow beat, just like vintage. Thanks chieftang, at this moment i dont know if sell this watch or not, i may find another project to work with...
  23. Thanks, ebay seller is watchbandman. endlinks have serial 455b. I dont know if these are correct for this model. I dont mind at all
  24. Oh yes bad they are! They are obsessed with daytona watches. I think the Rolex daytona is a currency in italy by itlself. From soccer players to politicians to tv showmans..policemen, and of course el orologi del capo di tuti capi.
