  1. thanks Andy - finally put this one together cheers, Frank
  2. Taka is MIA - or back ? not an option atm anyway - but he knew how good AR coating had to look like Fine DDs coating looks like from an optician for glasses - not what i would prefer on a watch im sucker for the blue hue Domi now offers AR - sadly didn't have the chance to see it in RL yet .... cheers, Frank
  3. any chance to do a side pic to compare the crown hight ? thx Frank
  4. my 2 €z : 1 : its not the thickness - this case part is just polished different than the rep case - a little polishing by hand makes the rep case lock exactly like the gen - not only on 1675 - on all vintage Rolex reps. 2 : not fixable - only if you pull some stunts - which is not worth is esp if you are keeping the cheapo Asian movement 3 : same for all vintage Rolex reps CG shape on top and button are different - some modders use just a Dremel with a cutting wheel = case ruined 4: this curve is changed by Rolex over the year all the time - alone the 16610 has at least two case that are completely different in this area all in all why so much trouble ? we all know with a little tweaking the Josh case will look nice - but never really fool anyone - the old Noob GMT II middle case was way better or the TC 16610 is also way better - maybe someday the make some new vintage cases .... cheers, Frank
  5. so after reading RAs other post - the (s)thickness is the same cheers, Frank
  6. hey i actually like that - too bad Dior is written on it - that's a no go cheers, Frank
  7. a friendly word of advice - wear and enjoy the watch as it is - sooner or later there will be a new / better version of this watch out. then the money you spent to make the watch 1% more accurate is thrown out of the window. the are a lot of "modders" and "watchsmiths" at these boards the offer all kind of mods and services - read a lot - make you own decision if this is really necessary i would send my watch only out if something is broken cheers, Frank
  8. Frogmariner today cheers, Frank
  9. does is really matter ? how would you measure the middle case ? the thickness of the lugs ? you would need a NOS gen case to compare. and there are too many variants over the year to cover them all. the Josh case is good enough - at least for me. i don't see the problem in the case thickness - i see the problems in the CG area. cheers, Frank
  10. very entertaining boys i just took my 1675 out of the trash and i think RA is right about the case - there are a few more case variants in the GMT line - here is the case thickness of a few watches: (ass to top without mag) - GMT Master (16750) Plexi - 1,30 cm - GMT Master II (16760) - 1,28 cm - GMT Master (16700) - 1,18 cm - GMT Master II (16710) - 1,20 cm - GMT Master (1675) Plexi - 1,30 cm - GMT Master (1675 thin case) Plexi - 1,27 cm - GMT Master (6542) Plexi - 1,27 cm - Submariner Date (16610) - 1,28 cm cheers, Frank
  11. im talking about the space betw. crown and case - the red line see the second watch to show it better ... cheers, Frank
  12. that was a little provocative even the WM9 V1 is still a nice watch - the only thing i don't understand are the prices - i thought the prices go down to a lower/normal level now that these watches are wildly available again ....
  13. sorry - outdated (the crown position is shitty - too close to the case = the watch look off 2me)
  14. am i missing something ?! why are so many Subs for sale atm ? and why are the prices to freaking high ?! even for the shitty WM9 V3s ?! don't i get for $500 a nicer brand new watch from TC ? cheers, Frank
  15. V1 - TC wins, V3 TC wins - but V2 - if you don't want to drop a gen movement they are equal. the more gen parts you drop on the better they get. cheers, Frank
  16. just keep the watch as it is save the money and get a 2nd watch. cheers, Frank
