  1. The 104 is all polished. Only exceptions, the lever and the caseback. Polishing a brushed case is easy even with just CapeCod cloths. I seem unable to find any 104 w/ brushed case on Trusty's website.
  2. TTIWIP. Is the subdial anthracite as well? Or is it black? In any case, you are right. Either 106 or 170. Both they Titanium.
  3. Oops, apologies. "Al" stands for Aluminium here. And -- double apologies -- I see I wrote "few" Al while I wanted to write either "much" Al or "few" Ti (Titanium). Aluminium (Al), Titanium (Ti), and Nytrogen (N) are the elements used in our watch PVD. The more Al over Ti, the darker the PVD tone -- and the softer the PVD coat, IMHO (but not very softer). When there is much Al you will hear of AlTiN, otherwise TiAlN. Al being less expensive than Ti, inexpensive PVD reps are usually made with AlTiN. Hence, they are also pretty dark. My poor English is of no help here. Apologies once again if I have not been clear.
  4. A nice watch, indeed! Congrats! On the pics I would not say it's painted. To me, it looks real PVD -- just not beadblasted in advance, and most likely with few Al.
  5. @outlandos: sorry for being late here. If you are happy with your "125" that's all that counts, but be advised that that date window is totally incorrect, it screams fake and it can been seen from 2mt away. @Bulldawg: I doubt that a 40mm 125 can be found. All PAM reps with power reserve indicator @5Hr have a movement that is quite large in diameter and with a date window placed very sideways, that would look odd on a 40mm model and it probably would not leave room enough to place the cyclops. As peepshow already pointed out, no doubt a 048 or 050 is the best option to anyone who wants a 40mm model. Unfortunately they look sold out everywhere now.
  6. And how did you manage to get your title censored?!?
  7. Wearing "heavy" watches does not increase your probability to suffer of periferal nerve disease. Carpal tunnel syndrome on your opposite arm does. A little.
  8. The 050 has single side AR -- as all the PAMs after B series, and with exception for plexi models.
  9. Excellent suggestion, jr! Thanks! No doubt I will use it if I ever happen to engage myself again in a member-to-member deal. Oh my! Wow, thanks, I am flattered! But please forgive me if I just can't believe it. Most likely you did not chek all my (3000+) posts. Actually, all my English comes: - 30% from my old school bench; - 30% from playing MtG online many years ago; - 10% from listening English/American music; - and 30% right from here. So I have to just thank you all for giving me a chance to improve my poor English here day after day, and baring with me at the same time...
  10. I too love the black sub and I just ordered one from Reg. I already had one, but its black finish is shiny, while I love it matte instead. I find it quite pointless to have it black in order to remove sun reflections, than have it shiny, IMHO. @socom: great find, thanks for the link! Nice to see that a model I love is not complete fantasy.
  11. Really thanks, T. and jraines! And all who chimed in. @Fidestro: you are right, the scenario you figured is even what happened on me as the buyer on one occasion. But knowing that a post was edited is of no help here: there's no track of the pre-edited post, and knowledge that a post was edited is no evidence of its former contents, or poster's mala fide. So I thank the mods for restoring the former behavior.
  12. A question for the Admins & Mods, s'il vous plais. It's a few days that, anytime I edit a post of mine, a "This post has been edited by sssurfer:..." line appears at the bottom of the post. This was not happening before and I loved it, as I am no native English/American speaker so I often have to edit and re-edit my posts countless times. I believed this was due to my Supporter status and it was a benefit of that status. Was I wrong? Would you re-establish that former behavior? Thanks, sss
  13. I would bet so, as DSN crystals are 35.50mm diameter and the crystal of my ST2530 PAM is 35.45mm. 0.05 mm difference should be small enough to get compensated by the crystal's teflon gasket. In the worst case, you can get a standard, non-cyclopsed DSN crystal and put the 090 cyclops on it -- hoping that the new case rehaut is not so different to give different magnification from that same cyclops. If it is, you can always replace the cyclops with a weaker or stronger one, as needed. Please consider that I just verified the fit into the case (stem aligment, dial, etc), I did not try swapping the crystals yet. So everything I said here is just my guess. No experience for real about it yet. But I think it's worth a try.
  14. Many months ago I have been contacted by pamfried in order to get a couple of my cyclops. His emails were always nice and friendly, then after a few emails he suddenly disappeared for weeks or months. This happened several times, at the point that our transaction is still not completed. I suppose he has his very personaly way to make business -- but fortunately I just can wait and see what happens. Hope you find a way through your issue.
  15. Best wishes on your try. In any case, enjoy it.
  16. The device releasing the stem is a screw on the "unitas" movements. On the 7750 it is a push-in pin. Strange behavior there, betas. Try and do the same with the hands in a different position. You need to set the hands at 12:00 only if you plan to remove them -- that is not your case as you only want to remove the crystal.
  17. Good news to those who wanted to get rid of the quick date change pusher on the PAM 090 - 124 - 222 (Kruzer, Ajoesmith, etc: enjoy!) Finally found a case that accepts the ST2530 movement with perfect aligment of the stem with the crown tube, so that it can be used to replace the original case. It's the DSN case of his new auto models: 104, 229, & Co. Also the dial that I tested was a perfect fit into that case. The spacer ring was a good fit as well. Unfortunately the DSN crystal needs to get replaced, as the ST2530 has its date window placed more sideways (closer to the crystal border) than any 7750 based PAM reps like the 104. Changing only the cyclops' placement on the DSN crystal is impossible as it is a recessed cyclops.
  18. It worked great. No troubles at all. (Rather, stripping the former AR coat off proved tougher than expected. But I got the upper hand of it in the end). Thanks once again, B.! Oh look, this was my 3000th post.
  19. Thanks, B.! I needed it in order to send you that crystal. Going to do the job now...
  20. Yes. Personally, I love non-polished 104. On this exact moment I am wearing a variant 104 with brushed case & CG, and polished bezel. Until a few weeks ago it had polished bezel and CG. I suppose that the beadblasted look is even better than brushed. I would go for it.
  21. Thanks, Rya. I just needed to know everything is ok with her. If she's not going to return I'll miss her... but I can stand it as long as I know she's not in trouble.
