  1. No. Oh, I forgot: Corgi is an exception.
  2. I suppose this question will stay unanswered, won't it?

    Damn! All with Ken?!?
  4. Awesome! But how did you manage to protect the "radionir panerai" writings from your airbrush work, Flav?!?
  5. SS = stainless steel -- not to be confused with SSS = sssurfer (myself) DW = datewheel CG = crown guard (especially used for that sort of a bulging tumor on PAM Luminor models) BS = oh, well...
  6. Oh my! Both wonderful! I especially love the Fiddy, I would never figure out that a carbon strap would fit so nicely with it.
  7. PVD: ask Finepics or palpatine. Both EU located.
  8. Nice find, thanks for sharing! Just, I personally feel the owner a little too enthusiastic (even if comprehensibly) when he claims: "... an officially certified part of Panerai watch experimentation history, showing several interesting links between the Vintage, Pre V and Vendome watches we see today and ideas never commercially put into production. It was conceived and produced in the first years of the Vendome Panerai take over, giving it an overlap of both the oldest and most cutting edge Panerai ideas and styles." "the first years of the Vendome Panerai take over" actually place it after the mid '90s and qualify it 'just' as a prototype on mixed and confused thoughts and things near to come. What any PAM lover would rather need are insights on the most obscure age of the Panerai history, i.e. the 60-80s years. That said, I would probably give a finger to have it.
  9. The first 44mm models were the 5218-201/A "Logo" Luminor (1993) and the 5218-202/A Marina Militare (1993). No second hand, though. The first 44mm model w/ second hand was the 5218-203/A Luminor Marina (1994). 'Paneristi' is already plural, no need to say "paneristis". The singular is "panerista". One panerista, two paneristi.
  10. Hi John, thanks for entering into the subject. But I see you are heading towards screen printing... sorry, I have no experiences or info about it.
  11. @flav & rogerwine: thanks for making it clear! @greetz: use a fine oiler (black handle). Do some search, there are several posts about the subject here.
  12. Is that a thing of the Davidsen's sandwich dials? Is it because the two layers are firmly tied together, or because the lume is firmly sticking on the inner layer? I removed the lume from a 203 sandwich dial and I found it easy to separate the two layers (but they were loosely tied) and remove the lume.
  13. Excellent choice. What that other thread missed to say was that even the rep false-PVD makes the watch a little harder vs. scratches with respect to stainless steel. Even if not so hard like real PVD. In any case, you may have real PVD coat also applied on false PVD any time you might want it in the future... And, btw, palpatine and Finepics are not dealers but they are great RWG members who provide real PVD service on watches purchased elsewhere.
  14. It just came to my mind that either a) it is not black oxide, or b ) it is not done on stainless steel. Black oxide is an oxidation process, and stainless steel simply does not oxidate. Back to the drawing board...
  15. OP just put everything inside: AR, cyclops, money...
  16. I think you did not screw up anywhere. Just, after having worn 24/22 straps about 1 year along, I came to prefer 24/24. But 24/22 will allow you to use 22mm buckles with the 'Panerai' mark (no 24mm buckle is available with the Panerai mark, just blank OEM buckles). So, good choice, congrats!
  17. Sure, I'll love anyone who can provide me with an SF240 -- or even just a decent replacement to mod to resemble the real thing.
  18. Some rep straps are not absolutely crap. The strap that I got from Narikaa along with his 203 is good, I won't replace it. Clive is correct, though. HKTan ones are from an entirely different planet. (and price)
  19. I have to admit I did not think very much about it, as it is anyway out of my horizon. And out of curiosity, what is making your spideysenses tingling precisely?
  20. Well, I just ordered two pieces instead of one. If they both arrive and are as expected, and if by chance you happen to have two movements, we might think about an arrangement of some kind... :D :D :D
  21. Do you mean just placing C1 over the Davidsen original green lume, without removing the original green before placing C1?
  22. I suppose it's a vintage lovers' thing, Tim. Here actually are forum members who even modify their brand-new watches to look exactly like that one. Have a look at the third pic of Flavor flav's work here.
  23. @deltatahoe: Fiddy's sapphire crystal fits in the 203. I did it. I got that crystal from a member and I do not know where he did take it from, though. @tourbillon 1801: Joshua advertises all his 203 as with black dial. The only one who advertises a brown dial 203 is Andrew. I asked him, and he replied he has not that model anymore and it is out of production. I might have found another possible source for the last pieces available w/ brown dial. But considering what happened to me with an Angelus movement that I found on the bay, I'm not going to reveal my source (if ever) until I'll have the watch in my hands.
