Also for the recored, I never stated that the basic tools for any Photo program would be deleted ! I suggest you keep all opinions and concentrate at what you will be doing Pho.. And that is "entering" the Contest as a competitor . and a competitor only ! the issues with being delayed are irrelevant.. and don't need to be discussed by me.. with that said .. "I" am laying the rules for this contest once the Friday deadline comes.. "I" will decide what format will be used per individual image. There are many "rules" in the real world that I don't like .. and with the Company I am contracted with there are many that don't make any logical sense.. like them or not .. I abide by them to the best of my ability .. and make no excuses... nor whine about them. if this Photo contest becomes a problem with .. "Likes or dislikes" and starts to become an issue .. "I" will issue a red card for that individual to sit out the round.. thus that individual will loose points in that round. Judge's are here to Judge .. PERIOD !.. not set down the rules for the contest.. Judges will be also be judging certain rounds and not be present to Judge for every round .. all judges will be given a point standard to judge by... If this becomes another issue (not that there are any signs it will) I will ask the Admin Team to step in and over see the judging. Our Admin Team gives us Wide Latitude ... don't take advantage of that fact ! We all have our guidelines for these area's of involvement.. so let's cooperate to carry them out ! No one is trying to be an all-star.. we all want to see a lot of great pics and have fun in the competition ! Like it or not this is how it will be.. I am not going to be over controlling .. but there needs to be one "voice" in certain areas of the Shoot. and "fainess" for all .. This is how it will be ! This being our first Contest of it's kind I am sure we will learn from it and carry it on to the next event We are all still learning.. I am not here to do anything but support OUR community.. And with the "Mind Set" we have going now .. If I am not here tomorrow... another member WILL step up to the plate and ... CARRY ON ... because this community does not and will not think that 1 member is responsible for it's on going Sucsess ! We are a Team.. To ALL ~ After further review and thought .. I have come to the conclusion that the "advanced~expert" division should be able to use full PS capabilities the basic levels of PS were never going to be taken away.. as far as cropping ...colour .. etc. having said that; my thinking is that if you are entering the "Pro" level" then I should not hinder anyone from using "Whatever" skills they have aqcuired... and at this level of competition.. everyone should have the ability to use PS at the highest levels. The Novice level will stay the same as the basic PS programs will be fine ie. ... clolour; whitebalance.. brightness... contrast,.. crop and resize.. If you feel you should be able to use all levels of PS.. then "Advanced" level would be your niche. Thank you for your patience as this is the first go around for me and to stay true .. I am fine tuning as I go along. I didn't plan on the Contest going this way.. but .. "The Show Must Go ON" So some things will not be written in stone .. or me .. keeping an "Open Mind " myself. Your wife's dislike of the rep hobby has nothing to do with watches.. reps.. real or not . . it has everything to do with it being "All" important to YOU.. . it could be model trains... vintage pens..no matter . . what she is saying is that it is more important to you than she is.. Wow.. K, Koolau was rated in the top 10 most difficult courses in the US. and the 18 is the hardest.. just to get across the ravine in good shape.. you could come out with 3 (five gallon buckets) of balls from the surrounding forests in no time.. that is the degree of difficulty of that course. they had to redo the course because it was so difficult.. next time you must do Luana hills... across the way's in the other valley.. We call the back 9 ... Jurassic park.. it's a Marvel to just be that deep in a rain forest that has a golf course. You'll have to spot me .. I used to be a +5 .. not anymore... A~C R

This "hobby" for me as for many others is not about "fakes" it is in large part about the History of the vintages.. Rolex, Tudor.. IWC.. and many other brands.. if you start looking to mod a replica to specs you will feel the rewarding accomplishment that comes from the watch hobby.. when I buy a genuine .. I buy it put it on.. To source genuine parts .. ie. dials .. crystals.. etc. it's the "hunt" and the finding of the parts that gives me the rush.. and to have them all come together is another rush.. some members have the skills to mod and build their own frankens.. I'm not there .. so I send them away to be built. .. but just the same the rewards of having a part in the build is pure pleasure.. it's hard to explain the satisfaction.. I wear my Rolex 1655 more than I do my genuine 6760 GMT.. it took over a year to source all the parts and I ran into many walls with the project.. but when it was finally finished.. I love that piece.. A very good friend is just finished building a Tudor Snowflake with genuine dial etc. .. it will certainly be very special.. after a year of sourcing and again .. walls,.. he really saved the project for me.. and now this franken has a beautiful history of it's own.. But to each his own.. that is what makes this hobby so unique.. it's different things for everyone.. and the same also.. aloha L

what you will find is that the cost of the rep watch and the cost of a good strap will not make any sense at first.. a lot of members actually invest in the genuine strap which is more than twice the cost of the rep. but what you may realize is that the strap "will' make the replication look great !! it's like rims and tires on a car.. the "profile" is wicked.. here is a look at the OEM spec "distressed" buffalo for my 5002 from Aaron the distressed buffalo is one of my favs..

Everybody knows what diamond Head looks like from the outside.. here's some pics from the dormant crater. This is the main entrance to the crater.. back in the day when the crater held the FAA .. the facility controlled all air traffic in the Pacific.. it was secured.. I passed this gate hundreds of times.. bringing dinner to my Dad who worked in the crater.. I always imagined as a kid that I was entering a time tunnel and coming out in a different dimension.. what a kid's imagination will hold.. I turned around to shoot this.. I grew up straight ahead one block from the beach.. that's KoKo Head on the left another dormant crater entering the interior of DH. Your looking at the tip, or the front of DH from the inside This is pretty much what the inside of the crater looks like now.. it used to hold an Army rifle range right in this area.. everything has turned brown in the last month.. heating up for Summer. another shot of the tip of the "Head".. Bunkers still line the rim of the crater .. Fort Ruger was an Army fort that was built around the crater all around the perimeter of the crater are bunkers that was used for ordinance.. and shelters if need be. The FAA Control Center is gone now, it was located here..... it just disappeared a few months ago.. it was a high stress job as men were responsible for directing air traffic dependant solely on the old radar screens.. before the sophisticated systems were implemented there was a high rate of alcoholism and high suicide rate.. planes actually collided due to "errors" with controllers. falling asleep at the screen.. "ah shit".. was not words that you wanted to hear... This is "Hale Koa" the branches that were used to build the huts by the ancients.. in high school it was a prerequisite to pass a Hawaiiana course, we had to partake in living in the ancient way for a couple of weeks.. to live off the "Aina" .. (land) We would have to build the huts like the ancients did.. making rope from coconut husks.. that was the girls responsibility..it is very strong rope .. it takes time to weave the fibers of the coconut husks to make enough twine to use on a hut.. gathering the material to build and make an "Imu" underground oven.. sleeping in the huts.. and playing in the "Makahiki" ancient games (sports) these trees grow at a very fast rate and are abundant on all the mountain sides. Lauhala.. the tree that provided the material for weaving mats.. and making "Tapa" the paper like material that had a variety of uses. This is the type of rock that is used in the Imu.. Porous.. the size would be about a quarter of what this is.. if the rock is not porous .. it will explode when covered.. believe me .. once I was standing on the Imu when it exploded.. highest vertical jump I ever managed the smaller rocks are found at the mouths of river beds that lead into the ocean..ya usually have to dive in shallow water for them. I'll fit a wristi in to keep on topic.. This is the Wood.. Keawe .. kay~a~vay.. that is used for the fire.. keawe wood charcoal is the best !! the fire is made to extreme temperature and the rocks are glowing red.. large prongs are used to take the rocks and place them in the pig.. banana stumps tee leaves and banana leaves are used to cover the pig.. then burlap.. and the rest covered with earth.. the prep for the Imu takes about a week .. it's a party before the party.. I thought I would post more of what the "Aina" .. land.. means to us.. just around the famous Diamond head can be enough resources to survive and live.. Bumping as info to dial colour .. Black is not just Black.. but neither is it dark grey .. it is black with various tints.. that's what makes it appear to be not all together'black in direct lighting.. there is a spectum program that can define what tints are in different blacks.. whites.. yellows.. blues.. etc. different industries use it.. such as .. auto painting..... house paint etc. I do believe some makers of the reps have this .. it would be impossible to get even close to the correct black without it.. it is not a high cost tool .. and looking at the rep dial in side by side with the genuine.. it would appear that they are using this tool.. just ma >02 Lani Look > http://www.rwg.cc/members/DSSD-Dial-Correct-Date-t96230.html

This has to be the most explained (clarified) topic and the least "read" I don't know where the "matte" theory came from .. it is erroneous !! http://www.rwg.cc/members/DSSD-Dial-Correc...xtu-t97160.html also look here > http://www.rwg.cc/members/DSSD-Dial-Correct-Date-t96230.html to repeat.. there are more shades of "black".. depending on the "tint" used in the black.. fyi.. there are also dozens of shades of white.. etc. ie. reds,... browns...no red or browns will make the black appear dark grey in different lighting.. as does the DSSD dial. this does not mean it is dark grey.. it is portraying the tints in the black !! regarding clear coats as in auto paint.. the 2 best paints in the world are from Germany.. laquer.. the old "lead" paint.. could look like glass.. without a clear coat present day paints ... could be a multitude of coats.. depending on the colour .. flat .. or metallic.. flat meaning one solid colour..still glossy.. metallic is a tri-coat.. pearlesence .. could be up to 4 coats of different colours. base colour metallic coat or pearl coat clear coat they could even be more the three coats.. depending on how many tints the colour want to portray.
