  1. This is the V3 the dial is improved .. the logo on the side of the case is toned down.. although I'd like to remove the silver from it altogether...the AR was improved but this has a chiefs ar crystal attached.

as far as the movement..the Swiss 7750 is pretty pricey when you can get the movement for about 300 usd .. but you would need one of our Modders .. there are 2 here that you should stick to .. the hands need to be modded to fit from the Asian 7750 to the Val. 7750

I would not call this a Super rep. .. a good one but still a replication.. but by all means if you are contemplating this the V3 is the best..

and imho.. the A 7750 is a good movement with the caveat that it must be serviced properly as the movements coming from the maker may or may not be serviced properly..

    hope that helps somewhat

  2. I admit I do sometimes send a watch with no tracking or insurance but also know this is my risk and if the person doesn't get it I'm stuck giving a refund. However, I have known times when a watch will turn up after 6 or 7 weeks (there is a story in Dr.Petes Doxa book about a watch that turned up months (maybe it was even a year) later. I would suggest a refund with an agreement that if it shows up payment should be made. Getting the watch there in working order (IMO) should be the sellers responsiblity.

Regardless of a tracking number or not... if the watch does not get to the destination then.. it falls on the seller.. ergo, most say "buyer assumes risk or responsibility".. it's a no win situation for the seller.. if in fact the seller is truthful about shipping.. ergo, tracking is nice to have..but cost more than 30 usd from the USA to EU.. and if you send out priority with tracking it's almost the same price..

One of the big reasons I don't often sell my reps, anything can happen.. the buyer if not honest can always say the watch was DOA and claim a "partial" refund.. movements can stop for no good reason.. too many issues can happen and does... and if I do send a watch from a raffle etc. I will always keep the number even if I don't opt for tracking.. the Post office can track it internally with the number.. and can prove that it was in fact shipped.. but again it falls on the trustworthiness of the seller..

Too many of these posts as of late..

Hats off to the members that spell out every nick and scratch..

and more... how do you prove the movement was actually serviced ?? because a lot of the watches claim to be serviced..demanding a higher price..

So "buyer" beware of member trades..

if I sound negative.... it's this approach that you should check out ..check the seller with other members ..

Take caution boy's and girls.. :victory:

  3. Hi Im just curious, does anybody know some more info about that new 42mm PO version? Im mean what will be the improvement of it and what will be the price?

the only PO that will accept genuine parts now is a 4th generation PO.. and they are not being made any longer.. so the only way to get one is from a member selling it..

the anticipated 42mm is being replicated from a genuine.. so the hope is.. it will accept the dial, bezel crystal, and hopefully gen bracelet etc. .. and a perfect franken project can be accomplished.. don't ask me why the makers just didn't replicate a 4th generation rep.. dunno.. that would of been the simplest solution ..

the price.. hopefully not too much.. these things depend on the maker .. it seems the newer makers coming on the scene have reasonable prices.

  4. Chinese New year starts on the 14th Feb this year doesn't it?

Correct.. the first day of the "Year of the Tiger" is ... 14 February 2010 ..... cut off for shipping is well before that though.. and then when China returns to work it always takes a little over a week to get the back log flowing again.. and with the recent slow pace of the China EMS.. it should be longer than the past years if the mail follows suit with how it's flowing now.

  5. Maybe you can try this tool.

It look like a pen eraser. But soft and abrasive than pen eraser.

Special for polish stainless steel use.

    009.jpg

interesting what's the cost and availability ??

the pen eraser is ok.. but for nice matching lines the fiberglass brush pen if you are into detail...

  6. Hah! We're not all independently wealthy like you, L-Money! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Fantastic piece. You really are correct, this deserves more attention than it gets. I like the chrono, i'm just scared away from A7750's.

I'm not wealthy .. just lack other vices..

though remembering your issues with the A7750.. don't blame ya.. but the eta 7750's have really come down in price to below 300usd if your patient..

  7. The rubber kind've puffs out on my small wrist, too. If I had to get just one, it would be bracelet by far. As far as leather, I like the deployant more than a normal buckle.. Looks like i'm just not going to be much help on this one. :black_eye:

    nothing new :thumbsupsmileyanim:

shock us sometime will ya..

  8. The year of the Tiger: Geng Yin

    Gong Xi Fa Cai!

fyi ... if you are not familiar with the Lunar New Year in China.. everything closes down.. most work 7 days a week but come the Lunar New Year .. literally everything closes down .. and it takes about a week after the population returns to work for things to start flowing towards normalcy again..

  9. Love the watch but I'm going to have to go against popular opinion. While the chrono is a lovely piece I feel that the simplicity and clean look of the SOH design is over "complicated" with the chrono version. Just me I guess. Either way an awsome watch.

As for the clasp I have had zero problems in over a year and it was my daily beater for quite some time.

Only one real solution.. get both.. :victory:

  10. Tis a lovely watch Lani.

I been looking at a SOHC or a SOH for some time now and about to pull the trigger but some people say the clasp is rubbish. Is this true? what is the clasp like on yours? Also which do you think is the better movment between the SOH and SOHC?

Not sure which one to go for now chrono looks superb!

    Kind regards. Marc.

the black dial non chrono is nice.. the quality of the A7750 on the chrono version has been going good now for over a year..

the eta in the non chrono is always a safe bet though.

I wouldn't call the clasp rubbish.. it's not the genuine .. that's for sure, but I have had no problems with it so far..
