  1. haha, I'm with Deniz,

got caught out at work last week when I was meeting with one of my team. I looked down at my new and fav wtach, the Navi. and he said to me "ah, sorry -you've got a meeting". I said oh no, just thought of something happening at another branch. I was too embarassed to tell him I was perving at my beautiful watch. Didn't even look at the hands...

    mg

To funny.. I really wonder how many times in a 12 hour cycle I view the dial I'm wearing and not even notice the hand placement, or how many times I take out my collection to just look at them like I would artwork.. or look at the strap..or flick dust off the crystal.. or panic that the crystal is scratched when it's a blemish that can be wiped off...

Yup.. definite cerebral issues here.. :whistling:

Or maybe I just love watches.. :victory:

  2. but hey is it only me or...

when you look at you wristwatch do you always remember what time it is when you looked at it?? :D the problem for beeing too late is the watch is too beauty

realy i look at my pam at the moment but i cant remember what time it is :p

    denz

this was my thought when I posted the Q D..

I mean how many times a day does one (of us) look at their timepiece and really notice the time.. 50/50 ... 60/40 .. 70/30 ???? what are we looking at?? why are we looking?? ..Damn ..Tits .. Asses, Cars and watches.. and who say's the male species is shallow..

and anything more than a couple of watches would be viewed by most as strange.. :brow:

  3. oh dear you guys really wouldnt be amused by my time keeping then,

10 minutes late would be early for me, luckily the boss at work is a good friend and he understands and knows i get the job done if i have to stay on late etc...

i buy flash replica watches because the look good and not for timekeeping purposes, im sorry but thats an honest assesment. maybe its my age and i will mature into a true timekeeper like you lads.

Welcome to RWG bbc3.. I was interested in how many of us overlook the timekeeping aspect of watches.. thanks for the honest answer..

gotta admit at times when I put on a watch that I thought was wound.. an hour later when I look at the dial I find it stopped a day before.. .. how's that for attention to detail.. :whistling:

  4. It's irritating, to say the least. Stupid thing is most of the time, he's a really nice guy, it's just the passive-aggressive crap he pulls which gets on my nerves :D

you and me both brotha.. I would rather someone shoot from the hip instead of play passive aggressive jabs..

ahh I guess as parents get older they get more gnarly.. ^_^

  5. Thanks Pete for taking the time to post this and congrats on your Survivor :thumbsupsmileyanim:

it is a macho looking piece for a watch..

Hows the weight and do the pusher protectors conflict with the position you wear it on your wrist?? like some Grahams have the pushers on the left side of the watch for practical reasons.. does the Survivor need to be worn on the right hand for comfort??

again thanks for you view on the watch.. the insight really helps.. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. Lanikai:

If we should ever GTG one day, I'll try to remember not to use my "Hawaiiantime" clock for the appointment. :hi:

I think a mini gtg is long overdue J.. we have much to be grateful for, looking back at 2009..

Jawaiian time is fine for friends..

I blame her step-dad, who would insist on leaving for somewhere at a certain time, say 10:40, but actually goes and gets in the car at 10:35 and spends the next five minutes gunning the motor and bitching about people 'not being on time', when he's the one running early... Fucking wanker

 ... TJ.. I guess "Wanker" is what we would call "broke dick" .. that must be irradiating... I thinks I would be late coming outta the house on purpose for that one.. 8).. we can choose our friends but not our relatives.. :wounded1:

im sometimes a little bit too late often when the meeting is in the mornin :whistling::rofl:

but it depends, to very important things im very accurate of course :D and specialy in dates 8)

    denz :)

At least you got your priorities straight D !!#1 :good:

  7. Read my apologies.

Why not try starting over.. you'll find this community does not hold a grudge ..

We have an intro section for all that care to use it..

We are a community and if you take the time to read some of the threads you will see great examples of that.. no one is here to scam you.. quite the opposite.. we support one another in this hobby of ours..

it may be to your benefit to start at the beginning..

Toad has a great Noob guide pinned in this section to>[url=http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/163-introductionrulessupport/]Here[/url

If your here just for one bit of advise..

    this is it..

  8. Hey Lani,

Awesome post! Just made my decision to get a BP as my 2nd rep :thumbsupsmileyanim:

However I've got one more question: In this thread you mention that the DW has been fixed and isn't as deep anymore as it used to be. I haven't found this information on some other topics but am very interested if you know how it was done?

Gotta go shopping in Shenzhen in a few weeks to buy it :drinks:

The maker fixed the movement .. dunno how they did it.. Fransisco has a tutorial on how he did it .. great thread btw..he had milled a ring under the dw.. cool stuff..

  9. Nice work J!

Lani, where did that dial come from? As usual, I dare anyone to find a community that comes together to help each other more than this one.

    RWG.........a great place to be.

The dial came from Switzerland off the bay K. .. the seller has a store on ebay and has some good prices for his Eta7750's also.. this was the first dial I bought..

but I bought a ceramic one shortly after, so JMB commented on it, so the Colorado ~ Hawaii connection worked it out again.. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  10. Can you post pics mg??.. without sounding trite, it sounds like a very low end rep.. "but" contacting the dealer of the problems is not out of line ..IMHO..

Reps can be hit and miss.. but 100 usd is 100 usd.. i have found though that the grief that comes with bargains are not worth it in the long run.. for longevity of the movement, accuracy in the dial..

You are the customer.. and have the right to communicate with your dealer..if it does not measure up to the pics that made you pull the trigger then contact the dealer and let him/her know of your issues....

as you evolve in this hobby you will gravitate towards the more accurate pieces.. we've all been there..

I suggest you do what you feel is right.. without compromising yourself and thinking you have no "right" because of the price you paid..

Conversely.. you may ask about a return and an "upgrade".. but that is your call and most important.. your "money":victory:

  11. Just for what it's worth and nothing more.. there are a lot of peeps who come here to take.. and are still given the support they don't deserve.. that my friend is what we call unconditional support..

And to clue you in on the "parts" list.. part of our hobby is not just buying a rep .. it is the search for genuine parts to mod reps into what is referred to as "frankens".. I would post a pic of such a franken.. but since it is not what you "asked".. no sense..

you see.. this hobby for me and others is more than just buying a cheap rep and slapping it on.. it is the building; the support.. the camaraderie..the.. community, that makes it enjoyable..we share information and "try" and help with a little insight into the rep world..

if you could not afford the eta that I was speaking of.. I would have gifted a spare to you... I'm not here to make money or as you put it "tout" business..

Word..... this community is all about support .. I'm sure you'll find it if you don't trip up on your manners again..

good luck.. I'm sure you'll get the answer you desire ... or you can simply google it..

where I come from we try and help the "tourist" on the side of the road with more than just directions.. it's what we call the Aloha "Spirit"..

Good Luck with whatever your looking for..

    AC/Lani

  12. I wanted an answer to my question, it appears your response is touting for business.

I think you had better check you attitude at the door..

it does not matter to me if you put a piece of cow manure in your rep..

where do you guys come from..??

In answer to your question your watch is not worth ma time..
