for me it has been the opposite.. after my first couple of Panerai reps I gratefully lost the "burning desire" to buy a genuine.. not that i never will.. but the reps are getting so good and the genuines soo expensive.. well that's all I need to say on the matter.. Still genuine is genuine .. but i am loving the reps .. especially when I start adding the gen crowns (kruzer) mags(chieftang) and lume (ziggy)

thank you everyone for your input.. i have ordered the 3717 28k movement.. and have already put in the order for my brown alligator strap .. kevlar .. and honey brown strap for the spitefire that I have yet to order... I need some white dials .. I would someday like to give PT a go but being in the UK .. i am hesitant because of customs to the USA .. and being in Hawaii (a port city with a big naval Base) presents other challenges with the big C (now under Home land security) the ST. E has a little too much flash for me and the 3717 markings has a magnetic attraction to the eye's.. looks rather teutonic in nature Thanks again, lanikai

Benedryl works great on allergies .. childrens benedryl too.. be ready to go to sleep though... you can also try vinegar .. pour it over the area.. or alkaline.. (salt) to open the pores and remove the toxin.... if that doesn't work at least you have the ingredients for a great salad.. never short on drama on the RWG

Well, since the rest of the members are not here yet.. you can go to the donation area or upgrade area and become a VIP member... meaning RWG supporter because the site's monthly bill is alway's in need of donations.. Next look over the reviews by By-tor and Pugwash... they are AAA and I have made puchases due to these very reviews... before you make up your mind on your first purchase ask post questions or go through the topics in all the different watches.. And thank you very much for the gesture of gratitude.. many people just ask .. take .. and go.. You will find a wealth of information here at RWG....as I alway's have If you are in Europe .. ask the members who's the best to go to.. there are a lot of "collectors" (dealers) here on the RWG .. you will get better watches and better value deals.. I'm getting a little cofused with your dialouge.... are you saying the collector that you purchased the rep from is holding it until you send payment for shipping, who is the dealer you are reffering to??? who removed the links from your rep.?? your local watchsmith ... (right?) what I think is... it's 4th down and 1 yard to go ... 4th quarter .. you are down 3 points... 3 minutes to play... your on your own 20 yard line.... PUNT ... live to play another series..

when your in the surf lineup and a stingray's wings come up along side you it appears to be a shark... go for the ray.. although to me it looks like alot of warts on a watch. elephants ... BAD KHARMA ... They haven't changed much over the centuries ... just my personal feeling toward this creature ... look on Banda straps and you will find them there ... i just cannot understand how anyone would condone this... my "personal feelings..."

the best baseball gloves .... baseball and football shoes used to be made with Kangaroo leather.. the baseball gloves where the best light and strong.. marrone reddish colour.. I had one for 15 years all through college... since I grew up with using it my mind set is ok with it.... I will NEVER EVER wear or feel OK with Elephant hide... on straps or any other article Elephants are majestic creatures ... family oriented and ENDANGERED.. In some cultures treated as family for their work ethic I don't even believe they should be in "carnivals" futhermore if you try to bring in elephant straps be prepared to "do time" if caught. LIVE STRONG AND DON'T EVER WEAR THIS ON YOUR WRIST

Kris... do you think the watchsmith that removed the links could possibly have scratched your Tag ?? if so that would be the issue not the collector you got the watch from ??? and just a suggestion.. you may want to remove your "class" picture from your avatar... unless you want to advertise to the world you can be ID'd ... just a thought

wELL .. it seems your issue is with the collector and only you know what went down.. so the call would be totally yours .. good luck on your resolution to your issue.. aloha, lanikai

Unmistakeable originals of chronometry are the undisputed specialty of the IWC Schaffhausen watch factory in Schaffhausen, in north-east Switzerland: the famous "Da Vinci", with its perpetual calendar, is one such. These naturally included the first "Grande Complication" for the wrist, but also the super-antimagnetic "Ingenieur" and the diver's watches, which are capable of withstanding water pressure even down to a depth of 2000 metres - and the only diver's watches with a mechanical depth gauge. From IWC come the professional "Pilot's watches". Equally unsurpassed are the exquisite pocket watches, which have been built at IWC since the year of its foundation in 1868. It was no accident that an American engineer from Boston, Florentine Ariosto Jones, established the "International Watch Co." in Schaffhausen of all places in the year 1868. The factory on the Rhine - situated far from the watchmaking centres of West Switzerland - is indebted to this American for its name and its existence. There he found a newly constructed hydroelectric power station for his machines. Ideal conditions for his passion to build perfect mechanical movements for an international market. He also found watchmakers whose profession already had a long tradition in Schaffhausen. The State Archives in Schaffhausen include an entry dated 29 January 1583 relating to the Guild of Pyrotechnicians, Gunsmiths, Watchmakers and Hoistmakers to the City Council. This proves that the watchmaker's trade must already have existed in Schaffhausen at the time. In fact, the beginnings of the Schaffhausen watchmakers' art can be traced even further, as far back as the year 1409, when a monk from the neighbouring monastery in Rheinau built the striking clock of St. Johann's church. Originals of chronometry appeared soon after the company was established, for example in 1885 the Pallweber system pocket watch with its digital display, today a sought-after collector's item. At the end of the 19th century, IWC was one of the first watch manufacturers to recognize the potential of the new and increasingly fashionable wristwatch, for which it developed entirely new movements. It also continued to build original pocket watch movements into wristwatches when the market in the thirties demanded large, extremely accurate wristwatches. This is how the Portuguese line came into being - a trendsetting wristwatch in a "king-sized" format until today. Please click here to get detailled historical information about IWC. IWC was involved when watches had to learn to fly with the pioneers of aviation and today offers a comprehensive range of professional pilot's watches, which are fitted with special protection against magnetic fields. And in the fifties the company not only led the competition in the race to introduce the first automatic movements, but also developed, in the so-called Pellaton winding mechanism, an unsurpassed winding system that it still uses exclusively today in its large automatic factory movements. The special position of IWC is rooted not only in history, but also in geography. It remains the only watch factory in East Switzerland to this day. It is precisely for this reason that the factory regards the need to ensure a qualified succession in the manufacture of mechanical watches as both a commitment and a passion. Apprentice training leading to the Federal Final Diploma as Horloger complet has been the performance standard at IWC since 1950. This led us to set up our own training centre in 1968 with capacity for 15 Apprentices and two advanced training places. New training legislation came into effect in 2001, which offers budding watchmakers more flexible opportunities. In the severe turbulence in the Swiss watch industry at the end of the seventies under its inspired manager, G

OK .. i vaugely remember you posting that there was no mark on the watch when you recieved it,.. therefore the "mark' was put on the watch sometime "after" you recieved it..(correct?) with that said, then it makes sense for you to pay for the return shipping ... after all (don't need to know who) the dealer is not charging you for the fix ... and is actually doing you a service at n/c ... if it were my watch .. I would be grateful to whoever could "make it all good" and not charge me for it.. so I would consider the shipping charge "worth it" for the fix. Whenever I send anything back to the collector I send it priority - registered .. there is really no need for tracking (extra charge) it takes about 4 to 5 more day's longer than EMS ..registered numbers show the history of the "track" once it arrives at it's destination.. not before.. (although sometimes it has).. sending it with tracking seems irrelevant.. because if it is lost.. you would have to provide proof of purchase ie: credit card statement etc. description of the item... what do you say ... it's a Replica..(illegal) ..or it's costume jewelry .. cost 300 usd .. when you claimed 10 usd for the customs declaration... ??? think it through .... whatever you think .. alway's think of the word fraud ... because anything that goes in the mail is a Federal Offense in the USA (laws) ... hence the phrase "mail fraud" which is a felony ... I don't mean to sound dramatic.. but cause and effect comes to mind.... not worth it. LIVE STRONG AND WEAR IT WELL there have been times where my collector has sent the watch or a replacement back to me through EMS and he paid for it ...
-
I am no expert,.. but i would be careful with your credit card company as the watch is a "counterfiet" and you have recieved it once as the EMS maifest will show.. if you have to show what the item is be very careful in how you descibe it.. the last thing you want is to be "red falgged" by customs, as I am not familiar with your customs laws ... in the USA you can be "red flagged" for certain items that have been confinscated once.. better safe than sorry
