  1. thank you JJ.. coming from the Vintage Master.. that is very nice I leave it to Ziggy ... I just requested that if the feet needed to be clipped to please proceed.. I trust in his knowledge..if it will cause issues Ziggy will tell me thumbs up or not.. that is good enough for me.. this dial was only 139 usd.. that is what prompted me to move ahead; after viewing the history of the gilt dial, 139 seemed very reasonable and 5.00 usd for a Clarks crystal.. that is the extent of the $$ on parts..the hands that I did not use came with the dial.
  2. Look at the pics on his web site.. look familiar?? they should.. they are pirated images form one of our trusted dealers here.. He has been known to sell less desirable movements. but don't be too hard on yourself.. we all learn the hard way at some point and time.. it could of been worse.. that may not be any consolation .. and hind sight is always 20/20.. I just stick with the dealers here now.. no matter how good the deal "looks".. bargins are not always what they're cracked up to be.. True too.. live and learn.. AC/Lani
  3. this is her Ubi.. got the Col./Ubi stamp on her luggage.. .. for those wondering, the karmic path to Hawaii runs through Denver I hope I mentioned to you,...the scratch that appeared to be on the dial was in fact on inside of the plastic container @LHOOQ.. I may have just found use for the riveted bracelet after all. Kama is good.. AC/Lani
  4. Congrats PS your going to love the Ingy.. one of the best Early generation AR's all you need to do is depress the button in the middle of the link and at the same time push in one of the end pins.. use 2 toothpicks.. that'll do it.. make sure when you put it back the button is all the way up after you reinsert it.. AC/Lani
  5. Congrats Classy looking timepiece.. got the shades to match.. Wear it in good health AC/Lani

  8. Thank you W even if I left the MBK dial in place the T22 acrylic makes a huge difference.. I may put on the oyster bracelet again just to give it some size.. but I would like to get a dark honey tan gator .. I think that would be a handsome match..
  9. Just to chime in again.. if you are sending your crystal to be AR'd with chief.. ya better use the dremel and metal polish or jewelers rouge.. or face the consequences o the AR coating being defective .. up to you

  11. Thank you once again to the Zigmeister for another finely crafted piece..I was again at a loss for words at the finished piece. I started with the MBK 1016 and along the way was attracted to the gilt dial, which I sourced from Yuki's, and after a bit of research decided that this dial was adequate for the project.. the MBK dial is very good but I wanted something a little different.. I did source a NDT dial with "Explorer" instead of the "Superlative Chronometer" line, which was the early dial for the 1016; but in the end rested on the gilt dial. The Crystal is a Clarks T-22 which had to be modded, the diameter would not work with the bezel, so the Zig man shaved off some of the outside of the crystal without a tell..first rate workman ship of course. the hands were made to match the dial colour, the lugs were drilled to specs. So here are pics.. and again .. thanks for viewing Before it made the trip to ZM Now the 1016 Gilt The Case The Dial (glossy) The dial under reflective light A little more of a Vintage look Full view Wristi's Thank you for viewing.. 12. Talking to a friend from the forum on the phone yesterday.. and mentioning my Ubifranken 9411,.. if I were to total up the money I spent on it .. fogetaboutit and now I'm upgrading it with a genuine Tudor 2784 movement.. that I got for a very good price btw.. it would exceed what most would consider sound judgment..with a NOS genuine dial, hands, NOS bezel and insert, gen crystal, and now genuine movement plus the gen 91350 bracelet with 580 end links.. but for me it is a labour of love.. and if I were to even attempt to buy, let alone find a gen NOS 9411 dial.. it would be slim to none.,. and Slim has left town.. Ubi passed on the most precious parts at what he payed for them, this was after 1 year of hunting down and failing at sourcing the correct parts.. it was in the end not about the money anymore.. I wear that particular watch along with my 202A much more than I do my genuine Rolex',..... it has given me more Joy and gratification than all my genuine watches... after all we do these projects because we love the hunt and the building rather than just the buying. beauty is really in the eye's of the one who wears the piece.. in other words if I were to put a price tag on my Ubifranken 9411 and my 202A....it would be a price that is beyond reach for anyone that considers those watches.. "just a rep" AC/Lani

  14. Someones trying to throw a wrench into the community... not the first time and it won't be the last.. I don't think any dealer on this fora would blatantly do such a thing. Benefit of the doubt is with me on this one gents.. AC/Lani

  21. First, Welcome to the forum :thumbsupsmileyanim.. Cigs this is not a "new" insert, it is probably from another parts vendor whose insert was not used. due to the fact that it needs some modification to fit properly. so IMO the Ultimate DSSD is the best out at this time.. this insert can be bought separately to fix the issue of the misaligned 10 on the Ultimate insert.. again to repeat.. the insert is not for any "future" DSSD project, as I do not think the maker would want to shave the height on the this insert to make it work... there will probably be another version.. dealers can source all kinds of different parts and "franken" their own version .. call it V6 or whatever.. this is a solution to the one obvious flaw on the DSSD. AC/Lani
  22. I looks much better in person btw.. but yes, I am quite happy with it for not only the 10 but the quality of the insert.. I'm not done with the sanding .. like I say a few microns more.. the ceramic (if it is in fact ceramic)is super hard..i kinda wish I kept my vibrating sander.. it would be perfect..but then again my thumb would be raw worth the price for the fix...imo
  23. Very Nice
