Had a very similar problem myself once. they told me to fix it locally and they would give me a discount on next order, or I send it back and cover postage both ways. Hmmm let me see, I get a defective product out of the box and I have to wear the costs eh? So I said Im making a new option, option 3, I send it back and you give me a full refund. That's what I advise. 5% discount is a laugh, for one that's quite a presumption you want to do business with them again, and two they are making another sale off you cause you have to spend to save...

Oh and expectations wise I want something that looks good and tells me the time. I say good, not perfect, because like Eton stated above, that is unrealistic. Im a noob to this so naturally my expectations are lower than the veterans, but I'm also limited in budget, so you have to adjust your expectations to what your willing to spend. My father in law has a saying, "perfectionists are constantly disappointed". Nothing in life is perfect, even gens have problems.

yep, this is why I will never buy a Rolex rep. I don't want to look like a high roller because fact is I'm not, people just have to see my step out of my car to realize that. I just love watches, and I wear an ebay store never heard of name, infact I don't even own a rep at the moment (which Im hoping to change soon). And I have had many compliments on my watches, and they are no name brands. Most people don't care whats written on the face so much, but more about how the watch looks.

With the quartz chrono reps, doesn't the large seconds hand sweep once its activated? Or is it a "you never know what your gonna get" situation in terms of the quartz movement inside?

Rolex is not an option for my wife: 1. She doesn't like them and 2. how many 26 years olds own a rolex? it just wouldnt look right on her.

When it comes to reds I love a Shiraz. my coctail pallet is refined and I stay away from the sweet ones now, but that puts me in with the heavy boys like the martini. Really do enjoy an "Old fashion" too. A must for any lover of bourbon or scotch.

To add a bit of variaty have thought about looking into polar watches? They have models with heart rate monitoring built in which is perfect for working out

It uses an Asian 21J. Its a good movement, I bought one of Narikaa and it has been going strong for a good 9 months or so keeping great time. If you want extra reliability and quality go the swiss eta. But there is nothing wrong with an asian 21J.

you know what I really would love, A Breitling Blacksteel quartz, and before you say yes they make them let me finish. A blacksteel quartz with the same dial and coating as the higher end auto ones. The quartz ones just look like they have been sprayed black and the numbers on the dial stuck on instead of stamped through the back. If such a thing exists and people can direct me, Ill hump your leg.
