  1. I really like that citizen arnie cool style, gotta give us a lume shot of that
  2. Id buy one too, dont have an issue with quartz watches
  3. Lange for me. But then I generally favour Lange over Patek.
  4. wow, same thing happened to me about 2 months ago, going through old boxes and found a gucci ladies watch. The one I found was very similar to the black one in jdkno's picture except mine is blue, in great condition. Had to replace the battery, I found it in a box with a vintage omega, was contemplating selling the Gucci but didn't know if it was worth anything. Anyone have any ideas?
  5. Love your collection, very nice, varied and diverse perfect collection
  6. And to Bolivia of all places, they are dedicated
  7. have had teh exact same thing happen on the same bracelet. hammering doesn't work cause it just slides out again. What I did was use a 2 part epoxy glue (extra strong version) and put small dabs in the hole and then put it back together, lighlty clamping will also help then let it dry for 24 hours. Worked a treat for me
  8. Is that a relume job? I recall reading that on this rep only thehands had lume and orange numerals where unlumed (have one on order myself btw, wait is killing me)
  9. Congrats on the Gen purchase By-tor I have so many black faced watches and really want a white steelfish, even though its not as accurate (gorgeous watch you got there Mickey by the way) and I love a white face with brown leather combo.
  10. I know quartz isn't as romantic as an automatic, but sometimes the problems I have had with auto's is a pain in the ass. They lose time, and are more maintenance which is fine if you want to put in the effort. I love the watch designs themselves, not so obsessed with the engines, if they look and operate how they should I'm a happy camper. BTW I have a Graham quartz on order, will post a review when it lands.
  11. excellent, thanks for the advice guys. For my dad, low maintenance is best, so quartz is looking good.
  12. just fixed this on my MRs watch, about 4 of them had come off, was getting difficult to read the time actually... I live in Victoria by the way if I can help.
  13. Hi Guys, My dads birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and I know he loves the moonwatch. BUT this guy is extremely abusive on his watches, and he doesn't care for movements or any of that, as long as it looks right and operates he will be happy. So the quartz version is looking very appealing to me at the moment. Does anyone have any experience with this version of the watch? If there are any pros and cons you guys can give me Id really appreciate it. Cheers
  14. talk about a pimp watch, surely thats not real, please tell me longines never made such a horrific creation
  15. I had trouble trying to get hold of a white one
  16. Id buy one straight away
  17. you don't need to take off the crystal to replace the dial. After you open the case back, it will pop out with the movement (which it is attached to) you then remove the hands and screws the bolt the dial into the movement. But without the correct tools would be very difficult. I just replied to your post in the other thread about this, gist of it is, if you dont feel comfortable doing it ask for a replacement. Its not your mistake.
  18. tough situation to be in, I can relate cause Im going through a similar problem with another dealer but I had a movement problem. Was really dissapointed because soon as I opened the box I knew there was a problem, the watch wasn't running..they suggested going to local a watch smith :/ I thought long and hard, and sent it back, I know I'm going to have to wait about 6 weeks to get it back (chinese new year), but I don't have enough confidence with movements, and going to a local watch smith would cost the same amount as the watch to fix. So sending back for replacement or fix was the most sensible option. Its not you who is at fault, its their mistake so they have to help rectify the situation. If you want it replaced tell them that's what you want, that you can't replace the dial and send the wrong one back. Cost of workmanship is not as cheap in our countries as it is in china.
  19. Great feel good story and a beautiful watch Ubi you are a very generous and great guy, I always see you offering help to just about every post. A very valued member in this great community to be sure. This place is so different to every other forum I frequent which is usually full of flaming and abuse. Never thought such a friendly place like this could exist on the web.
  20. I don't expect it, unless it flat out doesn't work you wont hear back from me. Some people really do have very high expectations...these are reps guys.
