  1. Maybe I should apply for a job as a designer at Hublot
  2. Thanks all! Wrist is 6.5 inches.
  3. SS/SS HBB w/carbon fiber dial:
  4. OK, I've now got 3 custom HBB's. The first is the custom RG HBB with polished ceramic dial I got from angus. I've posted about this one before, and am really happy with it: Next up is the HBB SS/SS and HBB SS/Ceramic. I switched the dials so that the carbon dial is in the SS/SS case, and the flat dial w/silver subdials is in the SS/Ceramic case. I think these 'work' much better like this. The carbon dial really ties better with the monochromatic ss case and tire tread strap: On the other hand, I like the more busy and complicated flat dial with the more busy and complicated SS/Ceramic case: I have a smooth rubber strap on order to put on the SS/Ceramic HBB, I think it will match the smooth polished bezel and smooth flat dial much better than the tire tread strap does.
  5. Shostakovich - String Quartet #8, Borodin Quartet performing (2nd cycle).
  6. Think I'll go old school w/my Navi Fighters with K2222 AR and Bob Sharkskin leather:
  7. Ishann, I answered your strap question already, do you not read it or do you just not believe what I say? Regarding the gold, it is the same with anything gold plated. It will scratch and wear eventually. If you love the watch you can get it re-plated at some distant point in the future. So far I've not had any problems with gold on a case or bezel, only seen problems with gold on bracelet parts.
  8. Clasp is a little loose and sharp on this one, plus the rubber is pretty stiff and plasticky feeling compared to the IWC CD and HBB smooth straps. Rotor is fairly loud too. But really all that doesn't matter to me because it's just so cool and the fit and finish on the dial and case are so outstanding. Movement is also probably the nicest finished I've seen on the A7750's.
  9. Caseback is exactly the same as my 7750 powered one, except the 7750 is missing the fine regulator, but it is also much more nicely finished.
  10. That would look awesome on a black carbon fiber strap
  11. I thought about the all black, but it just doesn't quite match my style. I like a little more flash, metrosexual that I am
  12. Dude, that looks so hot in a tactical/mean sorta way
  13. Haven't made up my mind yet. I'll either sell my SS/RG HBB and get the gold matte, or sell the SS/SS HBB and get the platinum matte. Both just look too great.
  14. Even though I already have 4 HBB's I'm seriously considering buying this one!
  15. New 7750 is more reliable, but the posts are a different size than the old 7750, so you will have problems getting the hands to fit if you switch.
  16. Thanks all! The smooth rubber strap is pretty awesome, even better quality than the tire tread rubber that I have on my other 3 HBB's. I think the tire tread strap looks great with the carbon fiber dial (which I have with my RG/SS HBB and my SS/Ceramic HBB). On the other hand, the smooth rubber looks best with the non-carbon dials. In fact I'm just about to order another smooth strap to put on my SS/SS HBB to match the smooth SS dial on that one. Very good AR on this watch, but not as good as Chieftang's latest offering DVN, I replied via PM to you regarding pricing.
  17. Just got my custom made HBB!! I asked Angus to put a polished ceramic bezel on the "all gold" HBB, along with a smooth rubber strap (to match the smooth dial), and here's the rather impressive result (IMO)!

  19. Yeah, cause what we REALLY need is another plain jane black dial watch in a stainless steel case. Preferably a diver watch! Like I don't have enough of those already. Bring on the Grahams, Dewitts, UN's, etc....
  20. But the point remains - if your attire (especially shoes and glasses) match your watch, you are much less likely to get asked the question. That was the point of the original post. I know that no one likes to hear that others judge you by what you wear, but they do. And they make assumptions based on those judgments.
  21. Here's my hard and fast rules for wearing reps, and for pulling it off convincingly. Avoiding the "Is that real" question 1. People "size you up" when meeting you. The quality of your shoes, wedding band, and glasses (if worn) all should be on par with the quality of your watch. If not, then it's more likely to be suspect. 2. Wear decent clothes, and get sizes that actually fit you - the baggy sloppy look just makes your nice watch look way out of place Most of the other traditional "rules" of dress don't really apply anymore in today's world, but these 2 tips should hold you in good stead and make the wearing of a $5k or $10k watch a lot more congruent with your overall appearance. Dealing with the "Is that real" question 1. Decide way in advance, whether you are going to be truthful to this question or not. There is no halfway answer that is convincing and any hemming and hawing will be a dead giveaway. 2. If you decide to be truthful, say something like "Of COURSE this isn't real, there's NO WAY I'd pay $10k for a friggin watch". 3. If you decide to not be truthful, say simply "Of course it's real" and look at them like you are mildly annoyed. No further comment or explanation will be necessary. Whichever approach you decide is right for you, remember to be firm and decisive and fully committed to it. Any waffling and you're done for. Wear it with confidence.
  22. Going old school with my double AR'd Navi, but on my new brown BOB sharkskin strap:
