  1. No mention of the Porsche or the Dewitt. Both are super reps, but not that popular I suppose. HBB's have best build and finish, but the new Chopard chrono grey dial just joined them at the top. By far the 3 best reps I have for quality 'feel' are my HBB's, the Chopard, and the Graham. Hopefully the upcoming Concord C1, AP ROO (secs at 12), and Graham Swordfish all have this same level of quality. If so I can die a happy man
  2. Deployants are used all the time on gen PAM's, especically on the luminor automatics. They give the watch a more modern look, while the buckles and thick straps give a more historic look. Both "work" depending on your preferences. For me, PAM's are historic, while a watch like the Big Bang is modern.
  3. What's really exciting is the chrono subdial at 3 is actually a coaxial - it tracks both minutes and hours on the same subdial. Very, very cool.
  4. Hehe, sorry bout that I'm just stoked that 'unusual' watches like this are being replicated so well. I'm bored of Panerai/IWC/Omega/Breitling. Give me Hublot, Dewitt, Grahams, Concords! Now all we need is the UN Freak repped and some Urwerk
  5. The silver and gold one WILL be mine
  6. OK, I ordered one too, based on this thread These pics are all awesome. Should be here this week, along w/my replacement Porsche flat 6 red dial and Graham Chronofighter white dial. Should all be here in the next few days.
  7. Lan, have you ever seen the regular MM in person (non chrono)? How's it compare to the grey dial chrono in overall quality? Today it's the 2006 CD for me:
  8. Another one that will be undergoing the 1:1 rep treatment, at least that is what my source has told me.
  9. Great, just great. I ordered the grey MM GTXL because of your pics. First the Porsche, then the Graham, now this. You cost me a lot of money man For now, can't seem to get this one to stay in the watch box:
  10. I LOVE mine, this is such an awesome watch. That fusion of materials, gold, rubber, titanium, very very modern and cool. My only wish is that I could figure out how to open it so I could pop the crystal, strip the not-particularly-effective rep AR and send it to chief for some real AR treatment. Then that beautiful dial would pop even more. This watch begs the question, when this level of replication is possible, how can the gens possibly justify their asking price? $400 vs. $20,000? The gen is simply not anywhere near that much better (if at all, really). I guess in the gen world, you pay for the price. Or as a manufacturer once said (regarding setting retail prices on high end pieces), "Put a zero on the end, to make it sexy".
  11. DSN PAM 111H w/double AR and vaclumed standard rep dial, with europelli shell cordovan leather strap:
  12. I actually really like the look of the tire tread strap, I'm hoping it is up to the level of quality of a HBB or Graham Chronofighter rubber. Do you feel its at or below that level?
  13. How's the quality of the rubber strap?
  14. going w/the 3717 w/double AR on a HKTAN custom pilot strap:
  15. Probably best out of box rep ever, or at least on par w/the HBB (I have 4). Great rep, I love mine.
  16. How about something a bit more fun and stylish, titanium, rubber, and gold, a great rep:
  17. kinda looks like a bathroom scale upside down.
  18. One that I'm thinking about selling in order to fund a Chopard MM XL Chrono silver dial:
  19. I managed to whittle my collection down to the pieces linked in my signature below, I don't see any reason to own more than that.
