  1. How about seeing how it stands up to a power sander or keys scraping it. That should test the finish in the extreme.
  2. Dealer is being a jerk, and your 'friend' sounds like an [censored]. I'd put them in touch with each other to work it out amongst themselves and then kick both of them to the curb.
  3. Finally updated my pics of the custom HBB now that it has the smooth rubber strap on it:
  4. Hehe, it's not always easy to decide I'll probably be selling a couple of the HBB's soon (the SS/SS and the RG/SS), as I've got my eye on a Platinum Matte HBB, which I think I'll also customize with a brushed ceramic bezel. I think it will look pretty cool. Just gotta wait for chinese new year to be over.
  5. Navi w/K2222 double AR and a Bob brown sharkskin:
  6. Rangpur Tanqueray for me when doing gin/tonics, and Hendrick's for gin martini's.
  7. Best Bach performer of our generation, Angela Hewitt, doing the WTC:
  8. Panerai is like rolex - coming out with new and sometimes questionable models, while still maintaining their bread and butter watches (day-date and submariner for Roles, the marina milare and rad cased models for Panerai). I like the push toward in house movements, that's one way to move beyond "upper middle class" status to the true elite in the watch world.
  9. Haven't worn this one in a while - grey dial ultimate BCE:
  10. Recently upgraded dsn 111h - has a vaclumed standard rep dial w/the "luminor" and "panerai" text muted down, plus his killer lume. Like the font on the numbers and depth of the cutouts much better. And I had the crystal double AR'd on chieftang's last run:
  11. Today it's Debussy's Preludes Book 1 performed by Maurizio Pollini. Paul Jacobs is usually my preferred Debussy performer, but Pollini ain't too shabby.
  12. Nope, it's from an old run. I have a few watches with the new AR and it's much better. The old AR coating was quite good, but the new coating is outstanding.
  13. Started with the HBB, but changed my mind and went with this titanium classic - IWC GST with Chieftang double AR:
  14. swidavid - that EOD looks awesome on that strap, only combo I've seen that I really like! For me its the custom SS/SS HBB today:
  15. Well, the slowdown will force me to save some money, which I'm going to need since I see at least 2 new Grahams in my future (chronofighter and swordfish). I think the new chopard MM chrono will be out soon too, along with the AP ROO with seconds at 12. Can't wait
  16. I tend to go for the super reps, as the finish is usually better on them. Other than that, I sort by dial and strap color, and overall style. I try to keep 4 or 5 representatives of each of the major watch companies I like - IWC, Breitling, Panerai, Omega, Cartier, Hublot. After that I've started going for "unusual" looking watches, such as the Dewitt Academia, or the upcoming Graham's.
  17. Prefered to swap the movements so if there was any cosmetic damage to the screws, it would be on the back and not visible from the front.
  18. These avoid the sunken datewheel, which is a big deal to me. Plus I had K2222 strip the crappy rep AR and put on genuine double AR, the results are impressive:
