  1. Wow that really sucks! And what do you do in that situation. I would almost be inclined to arrange to meet at an AD and pay them to open the watch. Sucks but at least he took the time to post that so at least others can be more aware of what they are getting into when dealing in trades for watches. Thanks for posting this Marty
  2. I might as well strap on a Panerai wall clock on my wrist. That's about how silly that beast would look on my wrist!!! Nice watch though Hambone!!!
  3. The Cousin? Which one? The 7031 with the bakelite bezel?
  4. I have to admit, that UN is pretty freakin sweet R!!! I know I told you before I was on the fence about them, but it looks damn sharp!
  5. Looks pretty impressive Stephane! I'd be hesitant to change out that dial!
  6. Flawed or not, that is a gorgeous watch!!! Thanks for sharing that info Lani!
  7. Wishing you both the best on this special day!!!! Ahhhh.....whatever......go get ripped!!!
  8. @Hike - Nice new avatar my friend!!! Moonie for me today:
  9. Thanks TJ! Good call! I am going to an AD on Tuesday
  10. Wow Lani! Thanks for posting that! I absolutely love that watch. It is by far one of my all time favorites and a grail watch for me! Can you tell us a little bit about the watch?
  11. Lani, if you haven't already, could you do a pictorial of the Monte Carlo? That is such an incredible looking watch! My PAM for today:
  12. Excellent points from both you guys! Thanks for the input! A DJ is a new direction for me, and I have been a little hesitant about them as I am used to 40mm+ sized watches. However, there is just something very stunning and elegant about the DJ that I just can't avoid. A franken would be sweet, but I think that a budget version to start would be the way to go. Then again, I am the sort of person who likes to go all out the first time. I think I may just go to an AD and try one on for size and see how I feel about it. That would be a good staring point for me I think!
  13. Outstanding! And thanks brightight for the tips on the micro-mesh!
  14. Nice job Jojo. I would go one step further. Many years ago I was hired to restore a vintage recording console. The client wanted to alter some of the functionality of the console which had mode switches that were large, square, plastic buttons with deep engraving in them. I sanded them down, and then used Novus Plastic polish on them and had them re-engraved. The client was blown away. They looked just like the original button caps only with new engraving on them. I have since used the Novus Plastic polish on several different projects and each time it never ceased to amaze me at how well it works. It is just brilliant!!! You can find some at amazon here for $19.50
  15. Congrats! It's beautiful!!! Don't drink too much, but
  16. Wow, that is quite amazing Andy. You had never worked on a watch before three years ago? Well i'd say you have come a long, long way!!! Can't wait to see what's next!
  17. It's quite a stunning watch Vly. I would keep it if it were me. I have a gold watch that belonged to my Grandfather. I really dislike gold anything (unless it's white gold) so I never, ever wear it. It was handed down to me after he passed away. While I never wear it, it is the only thing that I have of his and I was there when my grandmother gave it to him for Christmas. Granted it's family, but I would do the same for a friend as well.
  18. This place never ceases to amaze me with all this impressive talent!!!! Well done Andy!!!!
  19. Wow Andy!!!! Bravo indeed! I never thought my little posting would turn into something like this!!!! I love it!!!
  20. A real stunner!!! Very, very nice!!! Good call on the white dial. Having a blue dial SMP was part of the reason I sold off my Chrono.
  21. Both very nice options TJ!! Thanks for that! I also found this one which I quite like as well
