  1. I like it lightly starched. And I also prefer french cuff dress shirts. Nothing compliments a nice dress watch like great looking cuff links! Of course, I have found it very difficult to find a dry cleaner who can fold and press the french cuffs correctly. I always seem to have to re-do it myself.
  2. Hi Guys, Thought I would share a few pics of one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. My dad is from New Zealand, so he and my mom retired there several years ago. They spend 6 months in NZ and another 6 months in Canada during the summer. Please keep in mind, these photos were taken several years ago and well before my love of watches blossomed, so unfortunately there aren't any wrist shots. However, the pictures turned out really well and I thought I would share them with you all: The landscape of the two islands is remarkable. The north island contains a large portion of NZ's small population. I spent my trip in the south island which is quite larger than the north island, but has about 1/4 the population. It is a vast, very untouched, beautiful place! For the waterfall lovers out there, there are plenty! Of course, you couldn't see NZ without running into a few sheep! And see a sheep shearing Or try a little bungee jump Here's a little more scenery for you And then of course, there are the beaches! This particular beach, called Tunnel Beach, was made by a farmer who had land on the coast. He was quite high up on a cliff and his daughters wanted to be able to go down to the beach below. He spent many, many years carving out a tunnel staircase to get down to the beach. This is the result. Thanks for taking the time to check this out!
  3. Search function is working today for me too. However, when I do a search for 1680 for example, I get every single posting instead of the main topics. So if I look for 1680, I find the post from Archimede called My genuine 1680. Except, currently there are 16 replies to this posting, so I am getting 16 versions of it when i do the search. In the older version, it would only show me the main topic and then I would click on it and get all of the posts within that topic. Is this a preference setting that I am missing? It is very difficult to find some of the older posts if you have to scroll through every single posting that mentions the word 1680. Also, just a side note. In the Dark Side of RWG, the RWG logo is missing. It has the IP Board Logo instead.
  4. What type of movement does it have?
  5. The re-lumed dial and hands arrived at the Post Office today! It's getting close now! Here's a pic of the dial: Here's a lume shot. I didn't charge it for very long and it was under a florescent light:
  6. It's simple: PC = Virus/Ad-ware/Spyware = constant headaches Mac = No Virus (as Pug pointed out - yet)/Spyware/etc.... Yes, the Mac will crash. It's like any computer. But, for out of the box value, there is no comparison. The bundled software with a Mac is fantastic and very user friendly. If you are a super PC guru, then yes, you can tweak, and mod and hot rod the PC to be awesome, but you will always have to deal with virus and spyware software running in the background. You will always have to deal with back-door issues from programs like MSN Messenger, ICQ and Yahoo Messenger that are riddled with all sorts of Spyware issues. And let's not even delve into the issue of Vista. Yes W7 is looking promising, but can Microsoft really deliver? Bottom line: PC's can be had for cheaper, but, in the long run, are the added headaches worth it? Isn't this why we are talking about this in the first place? The OP is having problems with their PC because of Virus/Spyware issues.
  7. I'm also using a Mac with 10.5.7 and Safari 4.0.2. It is working perfectly for me. Fast - especially considering how terribly slow of a corporate wireless connection I am using!
  8. As a former audio engineer and studio technician here in LA I have always wondered what happened to that fantastic studio and more importantly the custom console they had there (which, as I understand it, was originally owned by the Who) Great story Dems! Thank you for sharing that! Definitely getting closer to the big day myself and your story was quite inspiring!
  9. That is a very special wristi indeed! Congrats!!!
  10. Omega Speedmaster on new NASA V1 strap today:
  11. Nice find!!! I love the Silver too! I would love to try and find one for my 9411 if I could
  12. I have both, and the MAC is super stable. +1 for the Mac
  13. There is one on the bay from the same seller I bought mine. You can find it here
  14. So for those of you who deal with questions like: Where can I buy the best submariner? Or where can I buy that really great tool to open up my watch? Or my favorite: How do I add a song to iTunes? (That's one I get nearly every two weeks from my father, god bless him!) Here is the ultimate response you can give. It's called: Let Me Google That For You. Website is http://lmgtfy.com/ Basically, once you get to the website, you enter in the search terms and hit enter. It will generate a link for you. You can also generate a tiny url link so it is less intimidating to those less computer savy. Then you email that link to your friend, boss, family member, etc.... Go try it out. Here's how it looks if you do a search for The Best Submariner Replica
  15. I bought the Bergeon 5537 case opener on the bay for $80.00 I have seen them around for that price. A little googling and patience and you will find one. I would definitely wait and save up the money for the real thing. It makes a HUGE difference!
  16. The speed improvement is so massive for me that I don't really care what it looks like! Yes, there are some changes. Some things are missing. Some things have moved. And yes, it is taking some time to get used to. However, I get around in the new version so much faster now that it doesn't really matter to me! I love the upgrade!!!
  17. I must admit, I haven't been much of a Porsche Design watch......at least until now! I love it! Great find and enjoy it! Thanks for sharing the great looking pics!
  18. I am sure that there is a growing list of issues popping up from various people, but being a technician myself, I know that it is very helpful getting as much feedback as possible from all users. That being said, I just thought I would point out that when I click on "View New Content" from within the messenger window, I get an error. I have been able to repeat this problem several times. Thanks Admin for all your hard work on this!!! I have done many server upgrades in the past and it is an incredible undertaking when dealing with something of this magnitude!!! Cheers!!!
  19. The Forum System time seems off to me. I have my settings correct (just checked). I am set to Pacific Time, but the current forum time at the bottom of the screen is still 2 hours ahead. Currently it is 12:10pm in Los Angeles, but the Current Time at the bottom right hand corner says 2:07pm. Any thoughts?
  20. Oh my god Ubi! That's great! I used to have one of those beauties when I was a kid!
  21. Seems to be that the "View New Content" only shows you what is new since you logged in. Not like it used to be where it was since you were last logged in. (Did that make any sense??)
  22. Man, after being on this for a while, there is a massive speed increase now! I love it!!! Also, I have no problems with my eyes, but I must say, I like the look of the "Dark Side of RWG" a little better. The layout is easier to navigate to me. Just my 0.02 Oooohhhh and a fast reply option is nice too!
