  1. Good call!!! Congrats. Can't wait to see the wrist shots!
  2. I love that watch so much that I placed an order for one shortly after I saw your review! Looks good on the wrist shot BROM!!!
  3. Great selection of pics Freddy! And great composition. Thanks for sharing that!
  4. Thanks alligoat. Now I need to figure out where to use the ETA movement that came with the watch originally. Interestingly enough, it seems like it is a different size diameter. Is that common?
  5. Wow...no comments at all guys? I am quite surprised!
  6. Hi folks, So several weeks ago I purchased a WM9 V1 sub with several mods done to it. It has a gen crystal, gen crown, gen insert. The CG's have been reworked and the rehaut has been modified somehow (not sure exactly what is different, but it does look nice). I got it in the mail over the weekend but because of a nasty little cold, I didn't play with it until today. I opened up the excellent packaging and caught my first glimpse of the watch. The case is quite nice. Bezel turns beautifully and the mod work looks quite pro. Only one downside - the dial looks a little off and the date window is not even close to being centered. It has a euromariner LV dial with Gen LV hands. I was a little disappointed at first, but I really love the case. I had a noobmariner dial on an ETA movement from another sub project I am working on. So I though, why not? I took apart the case and pulled the movement out. This is what I found: The dial has obviously been shaved or cut down in order to fit into the case. And if you look at this shot, you can see that the date window is too far to the right. So, I pulled the movement out and installed my noobmariner dial, ETA movement and new retaining ring. I had to modify the little screw down tabs a little bit as they were just a tiny bit too long. This is the result: Thanks for looking and please chime in on thoughts or opinions!
  7. Took me a while to figure out the light box and white balance trick. It was really bothering me for a while! My camera has several options on it, but I favored the custom setting where the camera analyzes the white balance and adjusts it for you. As soon as I got the lightbox, it didn't work any more. I found the Tungsten setting works best. Keep playing with it and you will get it!
  8. I must admit, I am a huge fan of the Pro Hunter and Project X Designs Black rollies, but I think the Milgauss looks better in polished SS. Just my 0.02
  9. Very, very nice collection! It's a well rounded example and some good variety! And the photos are superb! Thank you for sharing!
  10. Why on earth do people do that? That makes no sense to me what so ever. The WIS will surely call you out on it. Unless they actually thought they bought a gen DSSD and got scammed because they didn't know any better.
  11. WOW! That dial is spectacular! And I really like the strap you have it on as well. Where did you find that strap?
  12. RED sub again. It's so comfortable in this summer heat!

What's the camera body you are using? I like the lens! Looks good so far. Looking forward to a few more shots!
  14. Here's my Speedmaster on a new V1 NASA strap. It's so comfortable, especially in this summer heat!
  15. I went into an AD today and tried on this watch. Man is it gorgeous! Felt so great on my wrist! Just wish I could pony up the $$$$ for a gen! I guess I will have to settle for this one. It does look close!
  16. That's awesome Gio - and for free, no less!
  17. There is one on the bay which can be found here. Seems a little off to me though. Seconds hand looks completely wrong for this era and the watch looks too new for 1966.
  18. How about testament or tribute. Isn't that what we are really doing when we build a franken watch? We are paying homage or tribute to the original design within our own budgets.
  19. Sneaky! Pretty cool. Wonder what the quality is like?
  20. True, but so far the MSI hack is the only one that is really stable.
  21. Actually there are quite a number of people building Hackintosh's which is basically a 10" MSI Wind Netbook with an Intel Atom processor and they hack an install of the macintosh OS. A friend of mine did it and it is just awesome. For $400 you have yourself a nice little portable with built in wifi and bluetooth. It comes with an onboard web cam and the speakers aren't that bad sounding either! Its a great little beater laptop!
