  1. I have 3 reps from the Santee Alley. All of them I purchased before joining the forum. They are some of the worst reps I have seen, but they were cheap. Also, the Omega DeVille is the one that I get the most comments on. To be honest, if you find something that you like, and the price is right, then go for it. However, keep in mind, it probably won't run very well. All three of mine are not very accurate time pieces!
  2. Phong's price doesn't seem that bad to me. Is it possible to build a good looking Monte Carlo for less than that? Toomuchgear seems quite please with his Monte Carlo from J&W. @Toomuch, if you are reading this....care to comment?
  3. $398 for that one???? That's insane! Mine has a lot of faults (bad logo, bad date wheel, DW not centered, movement completely wrong, totally wrong hands, etc...), but that one is terrible! Oh yeah, and mine was $50
  4. I don't know about any Canadian suppliers, and I know you know about Ofrei already, but I got two bars of premium rodico from them for $10.40. Is it the shipping costs to Canada that make it an issue, or customs?
  5. So this is the very first rep I ever bought. Got it from Santee Alley downtown Los Angeles. I was so excited when i first got it. I raced home, went online and started looking for pictures of the gen to compare it. Boy was I disappointed! Of course, this was before I found RWG and knew absolutely nothing about the rep world. Anyways, this is the famed Hour Vision watch. It is a highly complicated movement and and absolute work of art. Of course, the complexity of the movement and the sapphire crystal displaying it makes this watch near to impossible to replicate. The dial of the watch is also quite a work of art. And now, here is my rep of the Hour Vision. And the terrible attempt at the see through back case Hope you enjoyed!
  6. My first ever rep.....terrible quality but the one that gets the most comments when I wear it. Funny how that works, huh? Omega DeVille Hour Vision
  7. Update on my Franken. Dial and Hands are at the masters place for a re-lume. Can't wait!!! I guess I will have to though, as ziggy's on holiday for a little bit. Oh well, all part of the fun!
  8. I know. It looks gen to me to. But I find it odd that there is no mention of the type of movement. Both in the actual auction or in the Watch Repair report. That seems like a fairly big thing to leave out, doesn't it?
  9. So, two days ago, this Tudor Monte Carlo sells on eBay for $11,099.00 from a seller who sells musical instruments and doesn't even have 100% positive feedback. The photos do show a report from a watchmaker of some sort with an appraisal as well, but it still seems a little odd to me. One line: "Had it stuffed in a safe deposit box since 1977". Really? Check it out here
  10. Not 100% certain which Rolex/Tudor combo you are referring to, but I can assure you your price on the "Gen" Dial and Hands is way too low!
  11. Get well soon Lani! Our prayers are with you! Hopefully you will be up and about soon enough and hitting the gym
  12. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I knew you were the owner previously but I didn't realize you were the one that modded it! I will try that out. And if not, I will take you up on your more than generous offer! Thanks!
  13. This is the original insert that I originally removed. (Well actually, it popped off while I was trying to remove the bezel.) If the person I purchased this from is correct, it is supposed to be a gen insert. Not sure if it was modded to install in the first place, but there isn't any paint on the underneath side of the insert. It seems as thought the insert was originally just press fit in.

  15. Ok, so some hammering and "expert" vise work, I managed to flatten the bezel again. So, like a dumb ass I put it back on the casing to make sure that it worked. It works beautifully! Only problem.....now it's back on the case without the insert! Oops! So my options are: 1. Attempt to pop the bezel off again (and most likely bend it) 2. Leave the bezel on and try to attach the insert with the bezel in place. (I have tried pushing it in place, but I don't want to force it too much - any suggestions?) 3. Buy a good bezel removal tool and wait the week it will take to get here. 4. Wait for a much better option to present itself by all the wonderful forum members who will scramble to my posting to make suggestions for me!! I like option 4 the best. Any takers?
  16. Great pics! What sort of camera were you using?
  17. You don't have any viruses. It looks like spyware. (A more evil, yet let threatening style of virus) You can get it from all sorts of places, but the most annoying one is things like MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, etc.... Go and get this program. It is a brilliant software program that will remove trojans and spyware. Another good one is this program called Spy-Bot Search & Destroy
  18. Why not go for PT's final edition? Rolex Sea-Dweller Deep Sea Supreme 116660
  19. For those of you who have one, lets all show our wristi's on Monday July 20th to commemorate the 40 year anniversary of NASA Apollo 11's successful moon mission!
  20. I'm with By-Tor today with the always great looking Ebel 1911 Discovery
  21. Hey guys....in line with By-Tor's recent White Dial post, I just found this while browsing the New section over at Perfect Clones. Apparently with accurate subdial spacing based on the El Primero movement. Go here to check it out Here's a pic for ya!
