  1. Always happy to post pics of my fave vintage
  2. Looks kind of like the iPod Nano watch. Apple needs to make a Devon watch app for the nano
  3. Great conversion!! And that jumbo!!! I love it!!!
  4. It's not top secret or anything, but Avitt was banned a while ago. There is a thread discussing it here
  5. The keyless works is essentially like a clutch mechanism that works with the crown stem to set the different modes on the watch. You pull out the crown to the first position, and the crown stem moves the keyless works into position to set the date. Then you pull it out one more click and the keyless works moves to allow you to set the time. When removing the crown from the movement, a lot of times, when trying to replace it, you can mis-align it and mess up the keyless works (especially on the A7750 movement which your watch has). It is quite common and it is a very finicky thing to work on.
  6. I would suggest buying a new one and then using this one to "practice" on. There's no time like the present to start learning to do basic movement repairs Agree with kbh....probably a keyless works issue
  7. Looking awesome K!!! I know you were excited for this one to finally come home! Glad to see it's arrived safe and sound!
  8. Hey I recognize that desk!! Glad I could help out! And enjoyed the beer that is sitting in the background of that second shot BTW - anyone thinking of doing the DW swap for the 2geek should definitely do it! Such an incredible improvement!!!
  9. Never heard of it before, but it seems kind of cool! Let us know how it is for you in the next few days.
  10. +1 to what KB said. I like to at least see an overview of everything I love the "View New Posts" function. Can't live without it!!
  11. Beauty! So is this one with the upgraded WM9 superlumed dial, or is that the stock TW dial?
  12. Sunken date wheel and running seconds dial too small. Interesting looking rep though. DLC'd case with RG hands? It's a nice combo, even if it's not real
  13. Some fantastic pics!! I really love the look of the Yachtmaster but I just don't think that I can pull it off personally. A little too flashy and blingy for me. But that dial is so gorgeous!!! Congrats on the great pick up J!
  14. I stand corrected Thanks for the links btocamelo. Only issue now: is it worth buying that Gevril Chrono for $750.00 just for the movement? And will the sub-dial spacing work? Anyone have a spec sheet on a 2824 with a DD Chrono module mounted on it?
  15. But that is soooo boring!!! The fun is in the challenge (even if it is frustrating!)
  16. I was looking into the possibility of using an ETA with attached DD module. I don't think the 2824 will work though, as from what I have been able to research, the 2020 chrono module is only set up for 6 - 9 - 12 configuration. For a tri-compax style chrono with running seconds at 3, the only option I have been able to source is the 2892-A2 with a DD 2021 on it. And as Bike Mike pointed out, servicing it will prove a little difficult. If only I could find a gen Breitling B36 movement that would solve my issue, but they are very, very difficult to source.
  17. Good call on the bracelet I think! Leather is nice, but I agree with W that the OEM bracelet is way more comfortable.
  18. Well I just confirmed it. Subdial spacing of a 2894 will not work with this dial. 7.5mm would put the shaft right on the inside edge of the subdial hole. Needs to be just a little bit wider unfortunately. Hmmm.... Now what to use?
  19. Sick watch!!! Very unique! I like it. Great pick up!
  20. Wow nomad! Details???? Oops....never mind...your details are right above this post
  21. No you are not nuts. I'm just blind! I'll have to re-check the dial dimensions to see if that will work. I measured the spacing as 7.85mm (I think)

    Air-King

Very, very nice upgrade!!!! Makes a big difference with such a seemingly small change!
  23. Nice to see u shooting again K! Some nice lighting there!
