  1. Wow, so that's what a proper pre-V case is supposed to look like Did the pre-v cases have hexagonal crown tubes as well?
  2. I don't any rep domed crystal was sapphire. I know that the dealers have claimed them to be, but everyone who has tested them properly, has reported "Not Sapphire, mineral or plexi". Can you verify if yours is actually sapphire?
  3. But is it worth it, or is the Asian copy good enough?
  4. I just picked up an 029B and 063 that have Asian ones in them, so I'd be interested in what the experts have to say as well. And is it really worth the bother?
  5. YES! Spring loaded T crowns, what more could you ask for .... well let's get those first, then we can start bugging T for other things Thanks for all your time and effort in providing these for us T Perhaps we can somehow set your business up as a Community Service Provider - do they get any tax breaks in Germany
  6. Definitely not part of any 'fantasy' I may have
  7. The last batch of DSN 111H dials had a problem with the shape of the "3" cutout. As well, his CG would need upgrading, which would be hard since his case is not standard.
  8. My guess would be the LSwissL one, the text seems to be crisper, plus the markers and numbers have that slight indentation that most rep dials leave out. Also the index marks on the sub-dial are thicker. Then again with the inconsistencies on all the gen dials, for all I know they may both be gen, or both reps EDIT: Actually, if the LSwissL dial is a rep I'd like to know where you got it, as it looks to be well made
  9. Yes the PAM fad is dead, so please go back to wearing your Rollies, Bangers, and APpies. Leave the PAM wearing to those of us with poor taste and an inability to wear anything less than 44mm in size. I was starting to worry that the Panerai brand was on its way to becoming too popular, it's good to see that it is heading back in the direction of being a design that only a select few of us enjoy and appreciate. EDIT: Oh and the reason I have recently put up for sale a few of my PAMs, is simply because I had two or three builds of the same model so I figured it was time to finally decide on a favorite and make some room for the new offerings ... if they ever do materialize
  10. Congratulations on finally completing it. What are the final specs?
  11. Try asking what you'd like to get, then add "or best offer".
  12. So they finally fixed that D shaped CG, that's one of the main reasons I sold mine, it just kept bugging me. By the way, a 7753 is completely wrong for this model. The gen has a Flyback complication movement.
  13. No, I was referring to the 089 on Josh's site that the OP is planning on buying. But you have to watch out when buying a 228 Firenze. I bought one from DSN and ended up with a shiny purple dial, instead of the correct blue one. I eventually managed to source the correct dial, but be sure to stay away from those shiny purple ones, they look terrible.
  14. The PAM 089 was a Titanium cased Anthracite dial, which only Davidsen sells now. I believe your blue dialed "fantasy" model also comes in a stainless steel case, so you may want to double check that. In the meantime, here is a pic of what your dial looks like. It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't made the sub-dial so shiny:
  15. The font looks kind of skinny, but that cyclops looks huge - almost as big as the sub-dial
  16. EDIT: woops
  17. That's weird, he mixes SS with Titanium on his 172 and 165. I get the feeling that it must be because he doesn't go near any watches these days. He just relays the orders and collects the money. It would be so simple for him to use SS for the bezel and CG instead of titanium. I used his latest SS bezel, originally for a 165 which has a titanium body, on mine, pictured here.
  18. Thanks guys. Just trying to source another SS low-profile bezel to complete my 086 build (why does DSN insist on making his all Ti?). With this one, the 086, and the 089, I think my Anthracite addiction will be taken care of for now
  19. I think the DSN with your own custom mods will be your only option. I don't think any of the factories are even considering putting out a new one of these. DSN also seems to be the only dealer who does anything in Titanium nowadays, except for that Radiomir one. Sorry, what didn't you like about the markers?
  20. OSRep, I just noticed that the DSN case back on your 091 seems to be engraved, not etched, is this the case? Just to clear somethings up here, and update the thread for accuracy . The 091 was only a D and E series offering, so a post G series very thick and rounded CG would be completely wrong. Also the CG was made of brushed SS with a Titanium lever only, not completely Titanium (along with the bezel). So an accurately shaped CG would look like the one on the PAM 086D, if you can't find an 091 pic. PAM 086D PAM 091D
  21. Feeling kind of Grey today. Here is my PAM 091 with brushed SS bezel, D/E series brushed SS CG with titanium lever, nice thick date wheel font, great SS spring-loaded crown (Palp I think), old Cartel titanium case, DSN dial, latest DSN sapphire, on a Grey pig suede strap with brushed steel thumbnail buckle. I've almost finished piecing together a brushed SS/Titanium bracelet for it. I'll also be cleaning up the CG pin. Then for the final touch I'll be getting it relumed (got a few PAMs lined up ). On to the pics... In the next couple of shots you can make out the titanium CG lever I installed onto the brushed SS CG, like the gen. In the next few pics I was just playing around with the lighting
  22. That CG is actually not accurate for the 091, as this model was only a D or E series, but the beefy CG still looks great Besides you already said you are doing it to your own preferred specs, which makes this one truly unique Envious of that gen dial though
  23. If it is straight from Jos and hasn't been re-lumed, I would say the value is around $700-$900 depending upon condition of the movement. Even though the movement may not be new, the 188 with 7753 is the more accurate of the 7753 reps, and in demand. If it has been re-lumed, that would raise the value to around $1k. If the seller doesn't want to open up the back, ask them to take a video of them changing the date via the date pusher at 10, and also have a close-up shot of the date window (it should not be very recessed).
  24. Not Swiss, definitely Asian. Also wrong style movement for an 036. And wrong case material (case back says stainless steel, should be titanium). EDIT: You can see the CotesDeGeneves engravings under the "Panerai" plates
  25. Picture is way too small too tell, and a bit blurry.
