  1. There is actually a modded one up for sale on RG right now.
  2. I'd stay clear of those two sites, especially the "Swiss Grade" one They don't make the 192 anymore, quite a few members have been trying to get one, and have always ended up buying one from another member.
  3. Only way to pick one up is to find a member willing to sell theirs. Usually the best way to do this is place a WTB in the appropriate section, or scan all the sales sections regularly. You may also want to add a WTB in your sig. As for issues, the genuine 192 was made of Tantalum, a blueish grey metal that is heavier than steel. The reps came out in two versions, one in brushed stainless steel, the other in titanium. The titanium one is considered to be the better, as far as looks are concerned, but it definitely is much lighter than the gen. The 192 reps also had problems with their hand sets, some would suffer from the blue finish being discoloured. All the 192 reps do contain the SeaGull ST19 manual wind chrono, which was made using the same machinery used to fabricate the Venus movement that Panerai uses. It is a very reliable chronograph movement that will last years before needing any servicing, just like the gen
  4. I love it So is the OEM case set an 091 case with titanium body, brushed SS bezel and CG? And how about a profile shot?
  5. I'd love to see a side-by-side with a T48, or even a JacksonTse SS manual wind crown, as that particular rep crown looks pretty bad to begin with.
  6. Lots of pics in the forum, just browse around a bit.
  7. It sounded like T was asking for the tube diameter, not the inside opening. See above, or right below
  8. Cartel Old-Style 44mm Daylight (PAM 196) - 4.44mm Unknown Older Titanium 44mm manual wind (with s/n on lug corners) - 4.44mm JacksonTse Titanium manual wind - 4.5mm Unknown old 44mm manual wind case that standard case backs won't fit - 3.16mm
  9. JacksonTse SS manual wind case tube diameter - 4.43 mm
  10. Let me take some crown tube pics from a few "odd" cases I have, along with a JacksonTse case, and send them to you. (probably tomorrow morning) Then if you think they are different than the Cartel/DSN ones, I'll send them to you. Great to see some spring loaded T crowns being made

    PAM 279

All titanium, no steel. It is a DSN 240 dark brown dial, A7750 28k with upgraded dw, low-profile bezel, very good SuperLume application, and rare rep all Ti bracelet (no longer made). It is very light.
  12. Bet you didn't know a rep of it existed Here are a few pics of my rare rep of the PAM 279 - basically a 240 with all titanium bracelet.
  13. Oh yes, absolutely right on that point. The gen has a "pearl" finish to it. I also find that the rep engraved metal stick on plates look much better than the rep engraved bridges. I've just finished, well one screw left, putting silver slotted screws into my 036B rep, as all the gen pics had them, but this one doesn't seem to.
  14. Nice pics, but that is the same movement, and finishing of the bridges, that the 036B used.
  15. Originally it was rumored that there was an A7753 movement coming, then that was changed to new 196 and 188 7753 dials (more accurate). There is also supposed to be a 224 released along with them. We can only hope
  16. The rep engraving you show (in your attached pic) is actually not bad, there are many rep H+ series movments that have terrible engravings, decals, or stamped blue OP text. The main "tell" on the H+ series 6497 reps, is the CotesDeGeneves engraving - all rep engravings have ridges that are too widely spaced, too high, and no "pearl" like finish to them. Then there is the shock assembly (gens are Incabloc), overly bevelled larger silver cogs, ....
  17. Panerais are a lot harder to make water resistant, depending upon how the CG lever has been modded/installed. They are dependent upon the lever pushing down on the top of the crown to form the seal. with the lever pushing down, or holding the crown down, any difference in pressure will result in the seal being broken, and water getting in. Don't forget, PAMs don't have screw down crowns.
  18. I have to make sure my Panerais are sealed, as a lot of the night clubs here in Toronto are like Saunas during the winter months Did you use tubular or flat gaskets? I don't remember seeing any flat ones from cousins.
  19. If I had been able to find extra gasket, I would have tried this, but you still need the CG lever to push down on the top of the crown enough to seal the crown against the crown tube. Francisco, where can I find those flat o-ring gaskets that most PAM crowns come with? The only ones I ever come across are the tiny tube-like ones, which are always too narrow.
  20. You will have to shave the stem so that the crown, without o-ring installed, is right against the crown tube of the case. Then you add the o-ring, and lube it. Next you have to make sure the CG lever actually pushes down on the top of the crown enough to form the seal. It really take a lot of shaving CG feet or CG lever end, installing everything, testing, taking it apart again, re-shaving, installing, testing .........
  21. Looks like a 21J alright.
  22. Apparently something called Gorilla Glue (instead of the GlueStick)) works just as well, but I forget which colour, and can't find the thread either.
  23. Good Eddie Lee cases and watches aren't that easy to find.
  24. You do know that a few of those aren't available anymore? Good luck finding the Eddie Lee, same goes for the 196 and 188 with a 7753 (even though rumored to be coming, no sign yet).
  25. But if you don't have the stem at just the right length, you may end up putting the movement into time setting mode when you release the lever.
