  1. Well I've never seen a 161 rep offered by any of the well known dealers, so I doubt there is a correct caseback available. But since you don't seem too concerned about it not having a titanium case (like the 161 does), you could just watch the sales posts and wait for any SS solid case back to come up for sale and try it on ... f You can also try putting a small (very small - like needle point size) amount of high-temp lithium grease into the bearing area of the rotor. Also, is that crystal a sapphire one? And do you frequently visit the market where you bought that?
  2. What would you suggest for shaping the CG feet to fit onto a case, not necessarily adjust to make the lever touch the crown? I've been using a "fine" file to modify a SeadNembo CG so it will fit a DSN case, but it is taking forever ..
  3. I thought OPcrown said he wasn't planning on producing any spring-loaded ones ? Anyway T48 is the most accurate to gen, not sure about OPcrown's latest as I haven't seen any close-up ... yet
  4. Well I'll be, they actually made a 161 dial for the 21J movements. I wonder if they'll make any for the A7750. Hope so, it will save me some time putting together my 161. Nice buy, by the way If you ever come across another new style bracelet and want to sell it ....
  5. It probably only cost a few dollars to make, but genuine Panerai owners who lose theirs are charged around $250 - $400 for a replacement crown guard, depending upon the type. However, getting one is a strictly enforced process for genuine owners, and practically impossible for anyone who doesn't own a gen PAM.
  6. PrDubis, HikeUSA is right, the case isn't dead yet If the CapeCod doesn't do the trick, try using an ink eraser (the green ones) on a section of it. You can also give it a going over with a 3M ScotchBrite pad, this should remove the oxidized top layer and give it a nice brushed finish.
  7. They used to make 192 reps, but stopped a couple years back, so this is a rep in high demand. I have a thread with mine somewhere in this section
  8. So xtals shouldn't just be pressed as far as they can go into the gasket?
  9. Don't gen crystals have 7mm cyclops? Also why would you want to strip the AR, since it is gen it is correct, as Panerai would have just replaced the crystal in your gen with what you have. The best feature of a gen crystal is the cyclops, the AR shouldn't matter, unless it the strong rep Purple one - as gens never had this colour, only light Purple. Just my thoughts By the way, kbiz is looking for a gen crystal, you may want to PM him - he is definitely a crystal expert.
  10. Took them a year, huh. Perhaps they should have taken a little longer and gotten it right. The movement finish is too grey, and the OP engravings look terrible, the needle is too short and thick, it just looks repped. What did the display back look like? I never trust their water resistance claims, for a good reason. And as far as "imported quality" Titanium, when they start actually using 316L standard stainless steel I'll start to think about believing any other claim they may make about other materials. And I have to ask, again, why on earth would they chose to make a rep of this case in Titanium? Why not make one of a case used in a few models so they can make the most of it?
  11. Yup, it will soon be time to open the flood gates though, and share the wealth
  12. That's what I'm hoping, but with matte blue sub-dials, not shiny blue. If the sub-dials are shiny blue like the one you've linked to, that's a deal breaker for me. You have a bold font 7753 wheel, for a 7753 251, to sell?
  13. As far as I know, they don't have any titanium cased PAMs for sale, so that price is a year old at least.
  14. The only problem with JTse sapphire crystals is their thickness. His are much thinner than standard crystals, less than half the thickness of a gen, I believe. So depending upon your case's bezel height, the top of the crystal may end up below the top of the bezel - giving it a sunken look.
  15. The more common ETA 6497 that the factories/dealers used had a solid plate on the shock assembly, which yours doesn't. I would say it is definitely Asian, and the engravings on the bridges are the less sought after. If you take a profile shot of the CG, you may find it is in demand, if nicely shaped. The crown doesn't look too bad, but it may be because it is out of focus.
  16. Put it up in the sales area with what you'd like to get for it, followed by "or best offer".
  17. All I can say is that there better not be any sign of Purple in the 224 dial (like some of the 228 dials).
  18. So far very nice. Now .. display back shot
  19. As noted above that should be quite easy, just have to make sure the "modder" knows something about PAM and the 7753 movement, if he doesn't I wouldn't use them anyway.
  20. Was that from a destro, or is the cg just on the wrong way?
  21. CG could use replacing as well, pretty nasty gap there between the top of the lever and the upper section of the CG.
  22. You really need to see the profile of it to determine which series it is good for, but either way that CG pin needs flattening.
  23. Not much demand, I think we mistakenly believe the members here are a fair representation of the rep market. Fact is there just aren't many Panerai fans out there. It is Rolex, Breitling, and Hublot, followed by AP, IWC, and a few others.
  24. Well done indeed
