  1. Quiz Answers, or what I had originally thought had been the right answers. A) Genuine movement from 036 posted on Risti Hybrid, some gen parts, some Swiss parts C) Older DSN 036 Swineze movement D) Newer DSN 036 Swineze movement E) Pic of my 036 movement that needs the cogs changed, and maybe some screws too (at least my dial has original "T SWISS T" ) F) Nicely modded Swiss movement with engraved plates and Asian balance wheel, from an 036 franken (gen CG mad it a franken) G) Another Swiss movement with engraved plates H) Swiss with engraved plates that I bought, and hope to upgrade to make it better looking. I) Supposed to be pic of a gen OPII movement from PaneraiSource.com, but they may have unwittingly posted a picture of a rep movement ???
  2. Just for the h. of it, here is what I would have guessed a few weeks ago - learnt a bit more since These are NOT the "correct" answers. A) gen B.)rep C) gen? D) rep E) rep F) gen G) gen H) rep I) gen
  3. Yes, that is what they have displayed under their OPII movement listing. I was going to send off an email to them for verification, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Assuming "B" is a hybrid, how can you really tell what parts are gen for sure? I'll probably post up more info on each pic later tonight, or in the morning. So hopefully some more members will chime in before then.
  4. Almost as enjoyable as a little of Beethoven's Ninth ... I'M CURED!
  5. I'm starting to wonder if one of the boards we use as a resource to id gen watches, has posted a rep movement, as nobody here believes it is gen
  6. Some interesting responses, nobody has them all right yet though. I'll post the answers after there are either more posts, or I feel the thread has died A real pest eh?!? Still a couple of forums you missed though.
  7. I posted this on another forum, so I figured why not test everyones movement knowledge. Most of these movements are found in the 036 - both genuine and replica. So let's see if you can tell which are genuine movements and which are not - feel free to try and pinpoint source of pics (hint - one is a pic of my 036, which needs a lot of modding ) A) B.) C) D) E) F) G) H) I)
  8. You could ask JacksonTse, he was the only dealer I could find that sold me case gaskets, so he may sell the crystal gaskets as well.
  9. No need to remove the bezel, but a crystal press would be useful to re-install it properly. To remove, you should also use the crystal press, but it will probably pop out with a bit of pressure applied on it from the inside. By the way a hand press is fairly cheap, but you will also need to by some large dies for it - as they all come with standard smaller dies. EDIT: Yeah, what Lanikai said
  10. Nope, polished titanium CG, you can really tell the difference in weight between the SS and ti CGs when they've been removed. ST4, I'll see about taking a group shot, as I've just finished piecing together a 082 and 091 (just need to put the crystal on)
  11. OxiClean (OxyClean?) is used to give Titanium a darker finish, supposedly making it look more like the metal Tantalum (a.k.a. Tantalium). The process has been done a few times by various members, just do a search for both spellings of the "Oxy" product, and you will find the threads in question.
  12. So after four hours have elapsed, the second GMT time zone is actually off by two hours? That doesn't sound good, perhaps a cog is slipping, or worse. Sorry, can't help much with that.
  13. I keep on forgetting about that file, I downloaded v6.0 but always end up on one of those two sites as the file doesn't have pics (sssurfer how about a column with links to the associated pic?).
  14. It all depends upon where you are being told to go
  15. When the minute hand is at 12 (or in close proximity), and you adjust the GMT hand, it should move from hour marker to hour marker. However, when the minute hand is closer to 6, than it would look as though it is only going in half hour increments, as it is not going from hour to hour, but from mid-hour to the next mid-hour point. Hope that makes sense
  16. That is also a good resource, with some better descriptions, but you may find that all the models aren't listed here - for example the 061.
  17. Yup, here ya go LINK TO PANERISTI MODEL BREAKDOWN Just select one of the first three links, depending upon what years you are interested in.
  18. Yup, my case has the elongated "U" shape (very thin) on the bottom lip. I was going to take some pics of it, along with a couple of cases to show the differences, but I put that 111 down somewhere and haven't been able to find it (haven't look too hard though).
  19. So it is a known problem? Or is the spray only available to preferred members?
  20. Yes they accept most factory and DSN case backs, but may have problems aligning the stem when some dials are used - no idea which ones.
  21. Gens, right? Also do you remember which series each one was?
  22. First off, they don't sell parts. Secondly, unless you are talking about manual wind titanium models, they don't carry them. And the third thing to avoid is their PVD/DLC models, if they even have them anymore - way too shiny a finish. Which leaves you with Davidsen for all PAM parts, any automatic PAM titanium models (nice manual ones too), and the only really matt PVD finished cases - some would say TOO matt You could send a case to the member Avitt for PVD coating though. Avitt, a member here, can be contacted by PM Davidsen has a section in the dealers area (it's hidden in the second section), and should only be contacted using the email addresses he provides.
  23. Would those have been recent visits - ie. later series models. Or your observations over time with extended visists, because some of the earlier models had no AR at all (036 I believe).
  24. The two dealers Josh and Andrew (PerfectClones and TrustyTime) are often referred to as the "cartel".
  25. I believe it is different for every model and dependent upon which series it was put out for. So there is no one correct answer. However, I don't think any of them had the purple tint, most either had non, a blue tint, or yellow one. But again, it varied quite a lot.
