  1. I remember when Avitt first began offering this service, he was unsure how ti would look after the procedure - especially if it where to be bead blasted Yours came out extremely well. looks great.
  2. I'm trying to unsubscribe from a topic, but have not had any luck. The button at the top of the screen say "Watch this topic" all the time, it never changes to "Unsubscribe from topic", even after hitting refresh, logging out then back in. So everytime I click on it, it say "Error: topic already subscribed to". What is going on? How can I remove a topic from my watchlist? Can't see it anywhere in my controls .....
  3. Just heard back from Alpha watches, and they do sell the ST19 stems. How much, you may ask? $12 for ONE stem. Looks like they've cornered the market on these, but if you really need one, there is a source.
  4. Ah yes, the pin vice, completely forgot that I had one. Thanks.
  5. Sounds just like what the area between the lugs on my Eddie Lee case, looks like. I'll be taking some pictures tomorrow of another one of my 111H's, so I'll try to remember to take some shots of that area of both the EL case, the other 111H, and another manual SS case I have, so you can see the differences.
  6. I think the movement is the 7754. You may have to do some modifications to the inside of the case in order for the movement to fit. The rep dials may not fit properly, And the hands will not fit without being modded. Most of the above apply to the non-GMT reps, and the ETA 7750. But I believe it will fit right into the cartel auto cases. You will have to get the two unused chrono posts removed, and the centre chrono seconds post. Same problem with the hands though. Of course you will need the proper date wheel, preferably a custom one with thicker font.
  7. I'm just waiting for the ti ones to come out
  8. Which is why the Eddie Lee case is cherished, it has no dimple. I believe the gens have long lugs, so no dimple is required.
  9. What did you do that for! I'm waiting until I secure my place in line before I start posting about those Besides, as of the posting of this response, they are still in development, so DSN is currently the best source
  10. I'm not sure if DSN is the best way to go. Even though he makes great manual wind PAMs, if you are not going to buy a complete one from him, you may run into problems. Some of his older cases use smaller screws for the CG, making it impossible to use non-DSN crown guards without major modding. There may be other incompatibilities as well, but that is one that I have run into a couple of times. Luckily his case backs are useable on nearly all rep cases, he is the best source for case backs
  11. The reps of the 204 all have the "crown" pusher, unlike the gen (personally, I prefer it with the crown). I believe they must have mistakenly used a 163 as a reference, when copying.
  12. What is the best way to remove a "Daytona" like crown from the stem?
  13. I get the occasional deer in the yard. But I got a smaller, but meaner, surprise a few days ago. I was taking it easy on the couch, when I heard some rustling behind me. I turned around and saw a raccoon at the bottom of the staircase in the main entrance hall. Had to usher it out the front door with a steel bar stool and metal yard stick
  14. Looks good gold plated, very nice. Personally, I still prefer the two sub-dials over three, and even liked the "crown like" top pusher - but I've always had odd taste
  15. Don't sell off those ST-19 stems The Zigmeister, I've accumulated four watches with this movement, and bought a Daytona homage (UGHH! I hate Rolexes) with one it for spare parts - just in case So you know if anything ever goes wrong with these, they are off to you I'll have to see if the stem from that "Daytona" is salvageable. It does look kind of short though
  16. Just got the tracking number for my Wempe!!!! Damned excited about getting it now. Your pix are what pushed me over the edge on whether to pick it up or not, thanks lanikai ( I think). Can you post a pic of what the strap looks like from lug to buckle? I'm trying to decide if any of my existing 24/22 straps will suit it, or if I should go strap shopping again
  17. Welcome to the forum. By sending me big wads of cash, then I'll start vouching for ya No such thing. There is however a reputable Canadian watch smith and re-lumer - The Zigmeister. Once you've been browsing the forum for a while, you'll find out more about him. Regarding Canadian dealers, you may come across the occasional rep listed on Craigslist or Oijiiiii (whatever the H#ll its called), but the majority of those reps are the cheaper version ones, and nearly always they are marked up way too much, so the best thing to do is avoid them like you would Jane and Finch. Enjoy, there is a lot info to be found here, best thing is to browse around the sections that interest you, and read a lot of posts before asking your first questions. Also don't expect instant answers, sometimes you may get them in a day or two, other time it may be a matter of minutes. Cheers EDIT: I just noticed that you've been a member here longer than I have, so I'd suspect you already know all the above, except of course the sending of my "Vouching Fee".
  18. Ooh, my fave S&W
  19. Well that's nice to know, considering I'm a PAM enthusiast What would be the common defects and problems that a novice could spot?
  20. Ah, I knew I must have overlooked something.
  21. I've just noticed that Davidsen/DSN is not a dealer here. Was he ever? Am I overlooking a section?
  22. What is meant by "bench the part"?
  23. Well I still want to know who those are in, I mean who that is in his avatar.
  24. Neat, I never knew you had a list. Are additions to the list generally just posted in this section? I guess I should do a search By the way, I still haven't settled on which watches to get relumed and which should just end up on the chopping block .. . ahem, I mean .. end up in my "watches to practice my watch smithing on" pile
  25. Well I'm sure the engraver really wouldn't know much about Panerai, so perhaps telling them "it is a replacement back that Panerai exchanged for the original which I managed to dent, but they neglected to print my S/N on it. So I figured it would be faster to get a local printer to do it, than having to go through the regular Panerai channels."
