  1. I completely forgot, I purchased a newstyle bracelet months back. It didn't fit on any of the DSN or Ultimate cases, not without modding anyway. I'll have to give it a try on these new case sets once things settle down and I order one..
  2. Didn't realize he had a full time job, in addition to the watch repair business. Thanks for that info, I must have overlooked that And since I've decided to come out of semi-retirement, looks like it will be more a question of when we'll both be able to match schedules. C'est la vie.
  3. Here's my, what I believe to be "old skool", 196 taken apart to clean-up the inner case and movement from any visible debris. Originally I was going to use it for an attempted ETA 7753 install, but put that project on hold (plus didn't have a good 7753 dial). Now it is in deep storage
  4. Don't forget that there are a couple different builds of the new style bracelet, and there is no guarantee that they both will fit these new cases. Also, I think the old-style bracelet included with these new Daylights, is a 24/20mm not 24/22mm.
  5. Yes, I definitely think it looks a lot better with the new style bracelet.
  6. For me sub-dials are much too light. I was always under the impression that they were Anthracite on the genuine (apparently not, but still much darker).
  7. My 192 has a Seagull ST-19 manual wind chronograph movement, didn't know they made them with the A7750 ...
  8. I bought a couple of backup stems for the ST19 movement these use, from AlphaUSA. They are 0.9mm, just put a SL T48 on one to make sure.
  9. Ok, that's pretty impressive.
  10. Which is more than can be said for the Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and other world leaders of the past who have, and in some cases still do, commit(ed) atrocities against other and their own citizens/soldiers. And don't fool yourself, the German war machine of the Second World War would not have been as successful as it was if not for the financing and banking providing or facilitated through or by the Swiss (neutral, hah).
  11. Well I say that those who want to demonstrate that they have very high moral standards, and only want to take into account a country's actions for the past 100 years, not buy any wristwatches or products at all, unless they are completely free of Swiss, Chinese, and Japanese manufactured parts (good luck with that). Do I need to go into the reasons why for each country?
  12. If you want to email them to me (at that impressive email account I used ), I will create a 'drop box' with them zipped and put the link here.
  13. This is actually good news for me, as my ETA 7753 250 in the less accurate case, that has everything SuperLumed by Hijack, should fit into the new cases then Any chance of you uploading some uncompressed/original sized pics so we can see the quality of the finish of the parts?
  14. Ohhhh, nice. Well, parts are definitely not all interchangeable , how do the dimensions compare? Do you think we'll be able to drop our ETA 7753 movements into the new reps without any modding? No reluming of the sub-dial at "6", or just not finished yet? So is the A7753 date wheel identical to the ETA one (teeth look different)?
  15. ST-36 (high beat 6497) movements are all over the place, usually around $30 -$40 dollars delivered. I find JacksonTSE a good source for PAM like ones. As for the ST-19 (manual wind chrono), AlphaUSA sells those, along with stems for them.
  16. Serious as a heart attack
  17. You sayin' I've been blacklisted again for some unknown reason That would explain the complete lack of response over the past 6 months.
  18. I had been trying to get ahold of him for months, by email (PMs are blocked), without luck. Ended up sending stuff to Vac and Francisco instead. He must be swamped with a backlog of repairs and his regular work. In a way I'm glad he's been busy, as now I'll get to see what some of the other experts' work is like. Looking forward to my Vac'd 204, 091, and 089, plus my 308 done the Franisco way Plus I'm putting some things together for Goin to work. So rather than sending everything two Provinces over, my PAMs are taking a Worldwide tour
  19. Wow that deployant does look well made.
  20. figured I'd rib you a bit about it
  21. Perhaps if we started providing the sources to the rumours we've heard. I'll start .. The only rumour I am familiar with, accompanied by a picture, was that of an L series 111 sandwich dial. ToroBravo, over on RG, started a thread in January of 2010, which included the picture. Originally he speculated that it would be released after the Chinese New Year. Lots more speculation in that thread, and misinformation (including a post where txcollector said that the A7753 was already readily available ). Anyway, the thread petered out one month later. As far as I know that is the only source of the rumoured 111, backed up by a picture. But if anyone else can cite some sources, and provide links, I'd be interested.
  22. Yes, which is why the rep cases are more than adequate for the majority of watch wearers. Especially when they are nearly identical in finish, size, shape, and weight to their gen counterpart. So have we determined that the Asian 6497 and 7750, all parts inspected, cleaned and serviced, without a parts supply problem, would perform as well, and last as long as their ETA counterparts?
  23. One more thing, which I forgot to mention. When I refer to the 7750 movements in question, as 'base', I mean the non-chronograph ones. The A7750 which has had all its unnecessary chrono levers and cogs removed, so that it is basically an automatic movement, with date only, and seconds at '9' (not centre). Yup, you guessed it, PAM base autos, like the 091, 086, etc.
