  1. WOW he needs to open diver's extension to wear on his wrist .. that is one big man.
  2. Yes the Planet Ocean replica crown and tube are notorious for stripping out and cross-threading. Luckily, the genuine crown and tube are an easy retrofit as well as readily available. Do a search to find advice on this as well as suppliers and dollar amounts. It's not expensive, don't worry. advice: don't use RWG search. go to Google and type "site:www.rwgforum.com UPO crown tube" That tells Google to only show you searches on THIS forum site.
  3. If you buy a A21j watch, you can never put a real swiss ETA or ETA clone into it. The hands and the dial are not interchangeable If you buy a Swiss ETA or clone, it can be repaired by any watch repair guy. If you buy a A21j, you should really just replace the movement when it breaks.
  4. A clean, oiled mechanical watch movement can be very accurate. If you choose to have your replica serviced by a real watchmaker, it will probably run +/- 6 seconds a day. I have a rep here that is a solid +2.5 secs a day.
  5. Any quality timepiece, maintained at a reasonable level, is a potential heirloom.
  6. Watching the news and waiting. Glad to see this particular issue closed.
  7. If a watch is broken. the dealer will ask you to return it and he then replaces it with a new one OR fixes it and ships it back. If the watch in an inexpensive one, a dealer will sometimes just tell you to throw it in the trash and ship you one without receiving yours in return. To replace a broken and un-repairable ETA movement you're looking at $140 to buy a new one .. I dont know where to get ETA clones. A21j movements are $30 or less to buy new. Your local watch maker may or may not fix a replica. Initially he will be totally fooled by the high quality of modern replicas but once he opens it to fix it, it is as plain as day that there's the wrong movement inside. Be truthful up front and ask if he can just look at it for you. Tell him it's a real ETA inside, (if thats the truth) and that it would take genuine parts. There are trusted Forum watch makers who exist all over the World and can fix your pieces.
  8. I have swung a sledgehammer for hours wearing my DSSD. How pansy ass do you think reps are?!
  9. Did some yard work and hosted a BBQ in my vintagized 1680.
  10. I have a 4 year old 01 quartz and a 2 year old 02 Seagull ETA clone with coating and neither has EVER scratched or discolored in daily wear on the job in a light industrial environment (they hit on metal a lot)
  11. Sending the watch back to China is not the right choice unless something is seriously physically wrong with the watch, or you have the wrong watch entirely. Get it serviced, and you'll be a happy camper again.
  12. My first rep .. 4 years old? I forget.
  13. Just to mention that the smaller 42mm is also farther away from the camera so it looks artificially small. In reality there is a 3mm difference
  14. Please do not post 5000 pixel wide, EIGHT MEGABYTE pics to the Forum, no matter how much you love your wristie. This is the exact same photo, of just the watch in the pic. It's 41k in size.
  15. Well, the plain fact of replica collecting is that even "quality" movements in these watches are often contaminated by dust and hair, or need oiling. The movement in your "new" watch could be years old. (stored in a warehouse somewhere before being used) The most inexpensive and time-efficient way of dealing with a new rep that has some sort of minor issue is to have it fully serviced by a watchmaker on the Forum. At that point, you are good to go for 5 years (watch oil slowly evaporates) If you contact your dealer and he wants you to send it back at your expense (he will) then you are looking at 2 months turn-around and the cost to ship it registered mail to China, with possible seizure. Altho most Gen watch owners never service their $5000 wonders, they are totally wrong in doing so .. 3 to 5 years is standard, and it's no different for replicas. post a pic of the movement. we can tell plain as day if it's a a21j or a clone or a gen eta.
  16. Are you saying that the Asian 7750 can be quickset at any hour without fear of damage, unlike the genuine Swiss piece? Very nice.
  17. Altho I applaud your deft use of whois, I seriously doubt a prominent international copyright pirate is using his real name and address in this instance. A simple Google search turns up stacks of information which shows Stanley Pace to be a common, scum sucking cyber squatter (domain name thief) When George let the domain name expire, Stanley Pace stole it, with the intent on selling it back for $$ ransom.
  18. Saw it last night ... very very funny.
  19. That P90 mag looks a little lonely
  20. A21j has an indirectly driven seconds hand, ETA and clones are direct drive. You can see a stutter in the movement of most A21j seconds' hand due to this. To expand on my comment, the A21j wind feel is so rough that you can hear a BUZZ in the gears when you wind it. ETA and Clone don't do that unless something is very wrong, I suppose.
  21. The watch movement we most often refer to as the a21j is a copy of a Citizen (Miyota) japanese movement. It has a rough hand feel when you wind it. The chinese ETA clones are almost exact copies of a swiss movement, and have a smooth buttery winding feel.
  22. Open it up. 95% chance a fake won't have a gen movement. Also I am no Rollie wis but that bracelet looks like wet ass.
