  1. The overall appearance of age is beautifully done. Congratulations to you on this build.
  2. Smart move, introducing yourself as someone who "knows"
  3. I had better not see someone wearing a watch on their "third arm" in this April Fools Day thread.
  4. You switched from Perfect Clones to PureTime???
  5. Altho I respect BK for his dedication, skill and honesty, I can not speak for him regarding what he does and does NOT do to his watches. I do not think he pressure tests them. I do not know for certain. You need to ask him.
  6. The modder/watch tech named "Vaccum" on this forum will pressure test your watch to 10ATM for 40 bucks. Great insurance. Quality replicas of diver watches can be perfectly waterproof. Just dont blindly trust them to be so. every replica is a unique case. What if the guy who built your watch made 100 reps that day, and left a gasket out of 3 of those by accident. you get one of those three. Whoops. Dont pay mind to the big ballers who say you can't snorkel with a rep. Hell, those guys say you can't even dive with a gen Submariner. No enough depth rating! Whatever
  7. Parts for these ETA movements are only a few dollars each! This person is trying to rob you.
  8. Thanks for taking the time to write this up. It's a handsome watch.
  9. Great! The new king of the forum vintage *RSC, non-vintagized* SDs!
  10. Ulysse Nardin Diver, White Dimple Dial!
  11. Round trip on a watch repair to China is 2 months. If it gets back to you before then, it is a miracle.
  12. WOW the white dial looks like a chubby Senator Sixties! Sexy
  13. I re-brushed the bracelet of my dssd with scotch brite and afterwards it appeared to be darker than the case of the watch. I washed the watch in soap and water and the entire watch now matches in a brilliant white steel color.
  14. King is a dealer. why do you think she is not?
  15. Vac sent me mail this morning. I assume he is super busy. Zigmeister has a helper for emails and scheduling so he can be more communicative. Vac has a long track record of excellent work, so just relax and wait for your watch to return to you. Imagine how much mail he gets per day. Hundreds? You would probably rather he work on watches than answer a hundred emails in detail. Right?
  16. The Swiss 7750 is not offered in most replicas due to it's high cost. A properly serviced Asian 7750 movement is just as good, an in some cases better than the Swiss counterpart. The Asian movements sometimes have an improved date function which is not as susceptible to breaking as the Swiss version. Figure on an additional 200 USD for a proper service by a thoroughly qualified 7750 technician. May I say that such a complicated mechanical watch is not always the best choice for a first time buyer, due to the added cost of a servicing.
  17. Following JMB's lead from Monday, here's one of the first pics I put together .. it's DSSD Day!
