it's not about how anal you are. It's about expectations. I'm super anal when it comes to details, but I know what to expect from the rep world. I'm more concerned about wanting to improve my reps rather than complaining about it. Even manufacturing my own parts if I have to.
It doesn't look countersinked.. i.e. v shaped, just a round depression. I guess countersinking works too. But yea, I'm missing the fourth gasket, is that an issue?
Great project btw, but I would get another dial too.
I've been trying to adjust my v2 for some time now.
First it was 20 seconds slow per day.I found that the lever is in the center
So I've moved the lever two marks forward. Then it was 2 minute fast
Then I've moved it back one and a half back. It was then 2 minutes slow !!
Afterwards, I just gave up and moved it back to the original position... awaiting results
one question, pardon my noobness, what is countersinking for? I'd figure you'd just have to re-tap it no?
And... also do you need all the gaskets in the tube to make it waterproof? My tube is missing the outside gasket, the small one that sits between the case and the tube, not the 703 outer big gasket
lol.. that is not even cloose. The rehaut and crystal is wrong for a milsub.
Anyways, I think the only reason they spotted the fake was because someone switched the dial to a DRSD dial XD
Ofrei sells spring bars. Sometimes gens pop up on the bay.
There's a pinned up tutorial how to drill lug holes in the upgrade section, you should start by reading that. They suggested that you should at least use a drill press. good luck =D
As for the bracelet, I would get an aftermarket folded bracelet rather than messing with it.
well, what I don't get is why can't we make our own reps instead of buying them. Especially for vintage Rolexes. How hard is it to actually make one? I'm pretty sure making a watch case etc etc would cost less than the $1k that NDT is charging. Even DW for example, would not even consider buying NDT because he said it's too expensive and he makes his own cases I think.
hmm... and what time period would you say they stopped hand luming? Btw...That is not how pad printing work. The method you've described above is most likely silk screening.
