  1. hackR- Let's see your top pieces!
  2. J.Marin. I'd like to see your toppers!
  3. He's got other dials? I only saw the DRSD...
  4. Nice PAMs, DL! But I'm wondering what you have that aren't of the Panerai variety?
  5. If the S/N really bothers you, rub it out and leave it blank. There are many gen pieces out there where the 12:00 and 6:00 engravings are long gone due to many decades of use with end links rubbing against the case. Personally, I wouldn't let such things be of concern. My personal opinion on this is 'out of sight, out of mind'. For my own pieces, I don't think anyone aside from myself will ever be seeing these markings so whether they are correct or not is of little consequence to me.
  6. The majority of my reps haven't lasted more than a few days... Before being disassembled for parts that is When I buy a rep, it's typically a specific piece or item that I'm after... Usually a case. The rest is rebuilt accordingly, and usually with most of the remaining rep parts taking new residence in the parts bin By-Tor is correct, however- A properly serviced and maintained ETA based watch should last a life time- A7750's too. Probably a good idea to check replace gaskets every now and then as well. But I've seen quite a few reps reaching or exceeding 10 years of ownership from members here on the forum...
  7. Can I make more than 1 request?
  8. Thanks, gang! I have to admit; I didn't think a Ladies' DJ would generate this much interest @P4- Mrs. Ubi's interest in the hobby is rather minimal. She does her best to keep up with what I'm doing regarding my own projects, but she mostly observes from a distance She is very supportive in this hobby however, and she'll be the first to tell me that she'd rather I build something of my own than buy the same thing at the AD if I can; the building aspect of it all does fascinate her. With regards to this particular project, she's quite interested to see what I am able to make of it. Since this is her watch, she'll have the creative input as to what dial she wants, bracelet type, bezel, etc. She's a bit of a purist however- She prefers simple, clean lines when it comes to design, so I imagine that the bezel will remain the same, she'll opt for an Oyster bracelet, the dial will be along the same theme and so on @Concepta- I'm not 100% certain what this case ref is, as I've never been too familiar with the Ladies DateJust line, and their many variations I'll have to look that up... Thanks again for your kind comments one and all. Looking forward to seeing where this one goes as well...
  9. Singer blanks can be procurred; I'd be more inclined to say that this is fresh 'replica' dial printed on such a blank and not so much a refinished dial as stated on the listing. The printing is consistent with some others that I have seen. Regardless, the dial is very nice for a refinish; especially when compared to some of the others out there. The immediate tell that this isn't an authentic dial is at 6:00; from there, the detail characteristics that define the dial as non-genuine all fall into place... -SWISS T<25 -Open 6 @ depth rating (not incorrect, but the following details don't correlate to a dial of this type e.g. Types 1, 2, 3) -Font types (color, shape, etc. are not consistent to each respective dial type) -Coronet shapes -12:00 marker size/shape But if this is being sold as a redial, the listing is at least honest Whether you trust a seller with 0 feedbacks is up to the prospective buyer...
  10. Dealers have their own sub-forums on the main page. Or, you can click here.
  11. I would like to see kruzer00's top 5!!
  12. If you're interested in learning more about PAMs, just stick around in here. Quite a lot of braintrust in this section
  13. In that case, I'll have to think about this one. There are quite a few on my list whose top 3 - 5 I'd like to see
  14. RobertK has got a TON of watches... If he posts his entire collection, I'm going to have to call my ISP and up my bandwidth agreement I like where you're going with this hackr. Should we wait until the requested party has replied prior to making any new requests from others?
  15. Glad to see the Tudor made it's round trip to/from the North without any hassles, K! Definitely a weight off the shoulders, eh?
  16. The tells. Uhhhh.... Everything? To start... The movement inside is a low grade Asian movement. You can tell by 1) the location/position of the seconds output (see how inboard towards the center of the dial it is? The watch this is trying to replicate is based on a 7750 movement, which would place the running seconds closer to the 9:00 marker, and the 3:00 and 9:00 indicies shouldn't even be present) and 2) the teeny tiny date font. The dial is poorly done. The crown is tiny. CG is the wrong shape and too big; huge gap opening for the crown. Caseback is incorrect/poorly done. Compare to this one, which is a bit more faithful to the real deal.
  17. Morning, R! Think Tuesday wear will be... A franken Daytona... Still half asleep over here...
  18. Fake. Identifiable as such from 2 miles away...
  19. Kurt- Thanks, big guy! Much appreciated KS, hackr- Danke danke! I think Mrs. Ubi has impeccible taste if I do say so myself; she did pick me after all ROFL!
