  1. There's quite a lot that's different between gen and rep- 1) Dial has a different overall texture with gen. 2) Font is different (size) and the color of the scripting is different as well. 3) Omega logo is different. 4) Luminous indicies are different; borders are too thick on the rep. 5) Lume is different color, and of course is stronger on the gen. 6) Numeral markers at 12/6/9 are slightly different shape (but not very noticable). 7) Date window bevel is more pronounced on gen. Minute hand is longer on the gen. 9) Seconds hand tip is a different shade of orange. 10) Lume color and strength is different on the gen hands (thus matching the dial and pearl). A couple of pics to outline the differences... Rep: Gen: Thanks, Andreww. I find that I enjoy the watch quite a lot, but haven't worn mine in a while. It does remain a favorite amongst my kids, however; they like to look at the sea monster on the caseback
  2. Ingy gets my vote... ***datewheel has since been swapped out with a lello; a must do mod for this one.
  3. Gen dial and hands are a must...
  4. Never had any issue with my hobby and how others perceive it. My wife is quite supportive, and when I took a break from watches, she had asked why I stopped and suggested I get back into it. The only time she's shown frustration is when I sell my watches. She doesn't understand why I'd put so much time and effort into building something only to sell it. My kids rather enjoy watching me put things together and have shown interest in the hobby as well. My son (5yrs old) has already built his own watch from some of my spares and my daughter (2yrs old) has demonstrated her ability in handling a pair of tweezers and small parts just fine. So, who knows? It could become a family kind of past time
  5. Great, thorough collection of some very nice Pilots indeed! Good stuff!
  6. Great pics! I especially like the perspective through the lens...
  7. Customs may be an issue with regards to fees; if you're selling gens, you'll want to insure for the value of the watch. This means that you'll have to declare that value, and customs will leverage fees based on that figure. In addition, declaring the value and/or content of the parcel may open up additional risk/liability; all it takes is for one unscroupulous individual in the chain of transit that decides taking the contents is worth the risk. So, be cognizant on how you fill out the customs form. Granted, insurance will cover the loss, but filling out forms, making claims etc. is a hassle.
  8. 3 weeks... Yeah, that should be sufficient amount of time to ship out a watch and/or at least type up a response to an email, I'd think? Hopefully he sees this thread...
  9. How long ago was it since your last communication with him? I see that he was active this morning, so he's definitely around. What method did you attempt to establish communication? Email or PM?
  10. R- Can you Express me one of those? Sure would go good with that Kona I'm sipping on
  11. Give it a rest and relax... Go re-read the last few pages and have a laugh at the back and forth that's taken place. Life's too short to be all spun up about stuff like this. Especially before the weekend. If you honestly feel the need to get your knickers in a twist, at least do so with the full ability to write your expletives out. You have to admit the humor of it all when you're trying to make a serious rant and things like 'shit' 'fuck' 'cocksucker motherfucker' end up being expressed as [censored] or, you have to space the letters out to get past the forum's auto-censor
  12. Just when I thought it was all over... Hang on for a sec, guys... I need to go grab some drinks and a snack... BRB!
  13. TMG- After seeing your pic, I've decided to shelve the Daytonas and opt for something along the same lines instead... Pre-A 002 for today...
  14. Yep... It's an addiction to be sure. However, it's a fun one, and as my wife tells me- There's worse things I could be doing with the money.
  15. Another day with the old Cosmo... Though today, not sure which one... So... Maybe I'll just opt for both
  16. Look at it this way. 50 only comes around once, and we're on this planet for a relatively short amount of time. Nothing wrong with treating yourself to something fun for this special day!
  17. Very nice indeed! If robertb had this one, I'm sure he gave this one the magic touch. Looks right at home on your wrist!
  18. Looks great! Glad you are enjoying the new acquisition
  19. I cannot speak on his behalf, but there could be a number of variables or reasons for the situation at hand here. I think a lot could be cleared up if he would either reply to your PMs or even just made a post in this thread. Based on my past communications and discussions with him, I don't believe he is out to take anyone's money, so this strikes me as very strange...
  20. Purely for decoration? Might as well drink the wine and fill the bottle back up with Water, Stephane If it's just the bottle that's needed for decor, you should at least enjoy the contents j/k!
  21. I'm somewhere in stage 6... Lost interest in Rolex. Though I'm sure with things being cyclical, I'll be coming back around at some point or another...
  22. Heh... Indeed, you are correct, Stephane Getting a birth year watch for me is still fairly reasonable. Maybe soon... We'll see
