  1. Over time, my personal pref has gone from heavy wabi/aging to only a moderate amount of wabi It's always interesting to see the characteristics that aging tritium takes on over time; the inconsistencies truly makes each different dial unique in it's own right...
  2. Arch, Unfortunately, the 116520's 4130 has the same size pinions as the EP400; as such, fitting a gen 116520 dial on a 7750 based movement is a no-go since the 7750's pinions are significantly larger (i.e. the dial's opening is too small). Additionally, the gen case is far too slim to fit the modified 7750 for seconds at 6:00; the thin case rep is only doable since there's a large flange on the backside of the case to facilitate the extra height of the movement.
  3. 4th gen is the way to go. Speaking from personal experience, this is the best basis to mod from to create the most gen like 42mm franken for a PO. Plus it has the correct size He valve that's positioned slightly above 10:00 as per gen. Start: Standard 42mm 4th generation PO. Add: Genuine Omega parts in the form of a dial, hands, bezel complete, bracelet and top with an ETA 2892 datewheel. Finish:
  4. Very nice indeed! Some great patina and tone on those indicies!
  5. One of which will be sharing some box space with a pair of Daytonas...
  6. As we get older we sometimes begin to doubt our ability to make a difference in the world. It is at these times that our hopes are boosted by the remarkable achievements of other seniors. Harold Schlumberg is such a person:
  7. With the hands arranged the way they are, the watch looks like an angry smiley face.
  8. Why do you need a gen caseback sticker?
  9. Just an effect from the shallow DoF... Here's my 3-D attempt. You don't need 3-D glasses for this- Just let your eyes go cross. When you have your eyes adjusted so that the image on the left is sitting on top of the image on the right (or vice versa), it should appear to be 3 dimensional.
  10. A 42mm orange would be a nice companion to your UPO, methinks!
  11. Typically, I find myself more attracted to the manual winds, but in the manner you've captured this watch, I can't help but love it...
  12. All I know is >ahem< ...RWG is UP!
  13. Looks good! Job well done indeed! You have to buy the entire bezel assembly complete; I had to do the same for my 42mm 4th generation PO, but in my specific rep's case, the entire bezel fits without hassle:
  14. Hey Lani- Maybe some pics of the proposed piece might help generate some interest, eh?
  15. Just wanted to bump this up to see how the author of this topic is doing with this situation. Hopefully making some headway...
  16. I purchased mine in 2006, all original circa 1967. Here's the kicker- I picked it up for $600 Maybe one of my better purchases for that year...
  17. Definitely a great watch. One of my favorite vintage pieces... From the same era, but not a MilSpec...
  18. S&M steel... Or Dominatrix rubber... Usually makes for a good time
  19. That was going to be my suggestion as well- Try to open the tube up just ever so much. You really don't need that much more in the way of clearance... Looks great otherwise. The biggest detail that would give it away in my opinion is the ref stamping on the upper links and of course the end links. Wonder if you can get those as blanks, and have an outside source try and do the engraving instead? Of course there's no point in doing so unless the end link tube issue is resolved...
  20. If you had those parts (gen), you'd really only need the washer and the click. You could probably use the WM9 parts for both of those, though with luck, they should come with either the crystal ring or the bezel ring anyways.
  21. You have a gen crystal, if I recall correct? If so, you should be fine. Assembly structure would look like: case -> crystal gasket -> crystal -> crystal ring gasket -> crystal ring -> bezel washer -> bezel click -> bezel ring -> insert Just make sure you're crystal gasket is an H2.
