I believe the problem is largely the result of adjusting the date between the hours of 7pm and 1am; during this time, the fixed gear for the datewheel engages with the hour wheel; manual adjustment of the date while the two are engaged causes damage to the movement.

No mods? That's a tough one. Off the top of my head- -14270 Explorer I -Most of the 36mm DateJusts -WM9 16622 YM That's about it. My top choices in my personal collection- 1) 16520 Daytona franken 2) 9411 Submariner franken (still technically a Rolex)

That dial really sets this one into a class all it's own. Quite a remarkable piece...
