  1. I thought so as well... Suspicion being that they were replica people.
  2. 26/22 if I recall correct?
  3. Haha... Actually, I was picturing it as the car pooped out the 300lb Poly Had me ROFLMAO'ing! So funny, I had to show the post to my wife
  4. I like it. Very quirky, and original. I would enjoy owning this watch
  5. I think it utlimately depends on the case, the design and such factors like bezel/dial size that really lends to how a watch wears. For example- You can have a thick, 18mm profile on a 42mm case and it will wear much larger with more wrist presence than a 45mm cased watch that has a profile of 12mm. If you have a 40mm watch with a large diameter dial/crystal and a small thin lip for a bezel, it could potentially wear larger than a 42mm case with wider bezel and smaller dial/crystal showing. So, I agree as a whole with many of the opinions here; just wear what fits you best. Personally, I like 40mm pieces in general, though I do have some larger watches in my collection as well. I usually wear my smaller 40mm's more often as they just simply fit better. Regardless of what I wear on my wrist, the opinion of others has little impact or influence on my decision
  6. Very nice trio, Velasco! @Stephane... You need to post your collection as well!
  7. I dunno why... But I am somehow intrigued by the thought of owning one as well.
  8. Hoping to see my 2nd Gen FGD in my hands soon. For now... I uncased and pulled my 1st Gen FGD... Trying to figure out what to do with it. I want to encase it in a cube of perspex or something; being fairly rare and out of production, I feel as though it's one of those prototype like collector's things to hang on to
  9. Hike- I think your post here should be pointed out, and brought to the attention of most members on the forum as a reminder- When you have a shot of watches from this distance, it's going to be very difficult to tell a good rep from a gen. Same can be said for when the watch is on your wrist. From a fair distance, no one is going to be able to discern the difference; it's only when you get into super macro mode when people are going to be able to distinguish the characteristics.
  10. BA, you're too much! I need to take some time and photog some new pics. These are for the most part old and recycled. Funny thing, cause I think my Snowflake is somewhat un-photogenic
  11. I miss his reviews as well. Glad to know he is doing well, however
  12. I'm down to 2. Well... Technically, 3. And... Lately, my personal preference is to only own pieces in which genuine movements (or the same base movement) can be utilized in the build. While some Rolex can be facilitated (i.e. old, vintage pieces with the 1570, 626x with the V72, some WM9 cases with the 3135, etc), price points are low enough on most modern models where the cost to build is nearly as much as the cost to buy a gen. While the fun part of this hobby (for me) is in the build, it doesn't make financial sense. Interesting times we're in...
  13. The dial needs a 278x movement to fit correctly. The dial feet are too big to fit a 2836/2846/2824/2892. You could always snip the dial feet off, but that solution is less than ideal, especially when it can be installed correctly with dial feet intact using the right movement.
  14. I seem to recall these as being a sort of hit or miss item as I don't believe the tube diameters are clearly identified on the blister pack. I can ask a few of my sources if they have any in hand... It will likely come down to eye balling one against the other, and that's provided they have some mixed into their stock.
  15. Wow... No words. Just speechless. Kinda wish I hadn't seen that...
  16. Not all pearls/lume dots are created equal. Lots of size and material variations out there as there are a number of aftermarket suppliers producing for a wide range of models/brands. You will likely end up with something that's either too large or too small for your Sandoz insert. Your best bet is to measure the I.D., O.D. and thickness of your existing insert and find another insert that matches measurements to replace the entire insert and pearl. Or, you can put Sandoz's customer service to the test and see if they can provide a replacement.
  17. You need an MBW case and an ETA 2784...
  18. Weds- Tudor 9411 franken Thurs- Daytona 16520 franken
  19. No biggie. I always let my watches run down to 0 when I'm not wearing them. I figure that the time has to be set anyways... Might as well let the mainspring relax a little when it's not called to duty
  20. Hmmmm... Seems like watchuseek is the joint to look for one of these. When the time comes, I know where to look! Thanks, guys! R
  21. Agreed, POTR. Probably better to just let the watch run down to a 0 reserve when not wearing it.
