  1. Final set of pics; temp NATO fitted for testing purposes
  2. BT- Great to see you around as well! It's been a while, my friend
  3. For a 16520... Building is your best option: Not cheap, but the results are worth it.
  4. Looks like a gear to the keyless works, maybe?
  5. I find that some of the greatest 'cultures' of product were created from the sixties: -Silver Age Marvel superheroes -Beautiful cars -Fantastic Sport watches from a number of different manufacturers Not a bad era to be 'stuck' within. I've noticed that a lot of my own personal collection preferences were born of this decade and the one following Oh, and beautiful watches, BTW
  6. JJ- Great looking 1005! I hope you decide to keep it as-is
  7. Been a while since I participated in one of these. So far, I'm somewhat unsure of what I'll be kicking the week off with, but I may just dust this one off to give it some air: Tues, I think I'll go with this one to continue the vintage theme: And Weds: Have a great week!
  8. Well... This is where I call home (32 years; all my life): And this is my 'homeland' of heritage:
  9. I feel like the kid that's always the last to know... What the heck happened to the good ol' ziggyzumba handle?!
  10. Ken- Heh hehe... Thanks, sir. You know, it's funny... My parts box is starting to dwindle down. I have been out of the game for so long, and hence I've passed up some great dials, hands, cases... In hindsight, I'm kind of kicking myself, but at the same time, I'm kinda over it. That said, however, this project has made me realize how much I miss doing this stuff Stephane- Very, VERY pleased to see that your project has come to fruition! It looks great! kruz- Yes... still alive But you knew that Work has been kicking my ass lately; but, if you give me a call sometime this week, I *should* be in the office (I'd call you, but I know your schedule is even crazier than mine). Rek- Yeah... Been off the forum for a bit, but missed it quite a lot! Glad to see some familiar faces still here! MD- You are correct sir- The 125 shares the same dimensions as the 127. Same height, same profiles, I.D and O.D. (both with the large bevel and square top) slightly shifted cyclops position; so, between the 125, 127 and 19, those are all interchangable. Brook- You'll have a PM here fairly soon, I think Gio, robk, jeff, shundi- Thanks much for your VERY kind words! I do appreciate it all! And yes- I do agree that the Snowflakes and Rose Subs are quite underrated. They're a great watch for the money, and with TONS of character! As a side note... Dieselpower... Your handle is somewhat synonymous with one of my other hobbies (kinda). I've been busy building up my collection of... Diesel denim. I feel pretty nerdy saying that, but it's what I've been spending my money on lately. It's amazing how difficult it is to find some of these sought after pairs... And, as with anything collectible, some are pretty rare and hard to find. Anyways.. I digress BTW, Lani- If you're reading this, your watch has been running non-stop since Friday afternoon, and keeping great time at that. It's running strong and looking good! Cheers! R
  11. Oooh! VERY nice! The dial, the hands... That bezel! Beautiful!! Definitely a well done piece! As for me... Haven't done anything watch related for myself in a very long time. I keep thinking that I'd like to start a project, but nothing really comes to mind at the moment. Maybe a 7031 or 7032 MC Tudor? Or... A nice Fifty Fathoms? I dunno...
  12. Likewise, kind sir How have you been? Any new projects?? Hope all is well...
  13. Could be a damaged click wheel. Difficult to say. Do you have a solid case back or display back? You could always watch the gears to see what they're doing as you wind the crown...
  14. Hey gang, First and foremost, it's nice to stop by and say hi- Lots of friends here that I have not spoken with in a long time! I hope everyone is doing well... TT- Great to hear from you, and I've been meaning to email you; any chance you'll be swinging into town this year? Fxr- Hmmmm... Last pic, bottom right- I wish I could say what it would cost, but that assembly doesn't belong to me; rather it belongs to the owner of the project of topic Now that he has a damn near pristine example, I can't imagine that he'd have a need for these goodies any longer (though you'd have to discuss that with him ). DL- Thanks for the kind words! I know you've been after one of these dials- I've got my eyes and ears open for one for you! They do turn up from time to time... It's just a matter of time. When I find one, you'll be first to know! Coolfire- Great to hear from you, my friend! And thanks for the compliments! I must admit... It's been a long time since I've logged in; even longer since I've tackled a project! This particular project was my first after a long hiatus; there were some cobwebs to blow out, but everything came back to me as if I never skipped a beat. As for those Daytonas... Not tired of them yet, but I haven't worn them in a very long time. Oddly enough, my Tudor has spent the most time on my wrist as of the last few months. However, I was planning on dusting the Cosmos off for the weekend Lani- Yes sir, you are in fact considered a very close friend. You've shown me incredible generousity, and unconditional friendship. So... It is I that is honored This project was a lot of fun, and it's also been an important one for me to see through to the end. I know you've been waiting for this one for almost a year now, so to see it come together is like closing an amazing chapter in a book to me; it's great to see how it ends, but looking back, it's the journey that made this one fun. I keep looking at this watch, and cannot keep my mouth shut about it. My wife has listened to me go on and on about it all afternoon So, yeah... Needless to say, I enjoyed this one immensely! This one will always have a special place in my mind... All the best, R
  15. Absolutely gorgeous! I definitely have a soft spot for the Pre-V's!
  16. WHATWHATWHAT?!?!? Okay... I am officially salivating! NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!
  17. FGD- I'm late to the party, but wanted to say WOW!! That is one gorgeous tux!
  18. While I can appreciate the need to update an old classic, I'm not feeling the new dials, hands or the new bracelet to case transition for the center end link. The dial designs are a little too busy to my taste; I wish they would have kept with the cleaner, more classic ribbed design of the 3700 and 5711. The hands look a little clumsy to me and overall, the design looks as though it will become dated before long. It just looks gimmicky to me, esepcially in white (though the darker dial is a litle more acceptable in my opinion ). I have a feeling that this will drive up demand of the previous 5711 and older Nautis
  19. Today: Tomorrow: And one (or both) of these for Easter Sunday:
