  1. Looks great! Very proportioned to your wrist! Can't wait for mine to arrive... Though I have a feeling that it may not look quite as natural on my 6.75" wrist
  2. I actually dig that Tissot... I'd buy it for the sheer novelty of it all...
  3. Great looking piece, Mr. Lawton! Out of curiosity... How big is your wrist? Looks right at home, yet I know that the ROO wears big thanks to it's large size (measuring lug to lug)...
  4. Great pics, R! Love them.... I can practically smell the kona beans from here...
  5. Ahhhh... Haha... I've been slacking. I did see one for sale a few weeks back... But I didn't pick it up as I had no idea this model was even on the horizon (plus, my focus has been elsewhere, methinks). None the less, given the position of the date window along with the thick pinions for the H/M (too large to pass through the dial center), I'm doubtful a gen dial would work....
  6. Hope to see mine sometime soon as well...
  7. For a good cheapie, get the one sold by Florida Watch and Jewelry. Only $10 or $12 or so and it's the 'flat' profile...
  8. Heh... Well, it was a bit tense for a moment, but luckily both watches were okay. A small scratch or two on the side of the case, but a few rubs with the cape cod fixed everything. I couldn't get too terribly upset; she doesn't know any better, and besides- One of them belongs to her anyways!
  9. Yes... That's correct, Anton. DD on an 889. Oldtimers to the rep hobby are familiar with this... When a new version comes out of a watch (complete with improvements over it's predecessor), expect some new flaws and faults to accompany (especially with things that may have been right prior). Just the way the game goes...
  10. Ouch. What happened, exactly? Based on your comments, it sounds as though you weren't even wearing the watch? To come home to a chipped crystal like that seems... Strange? Heh... I once came home to find my baby girl running around the house, a Daytona in each hand banging them together. The things kids do...
  11. Yes- Stem thread should be Tap10- Same thread and diameter between a DJ and Sub. The length of the stem, however, may be an issue. Since a DJ has a 36mm case and a Sub/SD has a 40mm-ish case, you may need a longer stem. As for date disc... I may have a silver one somewhere...
  12. Sweet! Not as if I didn't already have enough projects on my plate...
  13. That's one smokin' hot Subby, Stephane!
  14. I'd like a Snoopy Award Speedy as well. Might have to try and find a gen...
  15. BT- Building watches is not terribly difficult to do. I'm fairly certain that if I can do it, most people can as well. It does require patience, some basic understandings and the right tools, but this is all pretty easy stuff to pick up. When I post projects, I do it more to share with the forum, and hopefully inspire someone else to give it a try. I hope that people see the potential and possibilities that are out there for doing something like this. It's also nice to be able to say 'I built this', and take pride in the job done. Now... The real hard part is what Ziggy does... THAT is skill!
  16. Not sure I would know where to find any either...
  17. Well, I just packed up my tourbillon to send across the Pacific... So, I've opted for one of my usuals... And a his and her's shot:
  18. Uhhhh... Heh heh... What were we talking about again?
  19. There are, of course, ways to obtain and achieve a nice Daytona...
  20. I've got a skeleton in the closet... But only one. A bit of an interesting piece- A very nice, old skeletonized 2892 ETA (Swiss) encased in an old TW Best Constellation case. Typically, I'm not a big gold kind of guy, but with this movement, the two tone combination works (the steel lends a good balance to the gold bits).
  21. Ooooh! Signed in lume.... I like where this is going!!
  22. Ahhhh.... But, I'd like a signature signed with a sharpie. Right on the rotor: 'To Ubi.... Your pal, Ziggyzumba'... I really just want to see if you can fit all that text on the limited surface space
