  1. Actually, the stuff I have access to is straight up radium. If it were just tritium, it wouldn't be so much of a problem...
  2. Wow... That arrived rather quick! Good match with the dial and hands, eh?
  3. Looks like one of the twins is still sporting it's plastic wrap!
  4. It's hard to believe that anyone could be so heartless as to commit such crimes...
  5. Hmmmm. Very interesting. I just measured the crown on my davidsen 009, and it would appear that it is very near to being 2.0mm thick. Perhaps it doesn't have the appearance of being very thick because of the bevel? Can anyone else with a davidsen confirm?
  6. Hey, Tommy. Would any modifications be needed for the 2.2mm crowns to work? As Ziggy mentioned prior, the thicker crown might not allow the stem to be fully pulled out/extended to the time setting position; I just pulled the crown on my Davidsen 009 to the time setting position, and with the thinner crown the outer edge is already almost touching the inside of the crown guard. I'd absolutely like to fit the thicker 2.2mm one to my watch, but am concerned about this potential issue
  7. Leitz- I have been swapping out my vintage MBW 2836's with 2846's, as they beat at a slower 21600bph, which is closer to a Rolex 1570's 19800bph. This swap may be temporary as I have some AS movements that will work with the pair of genuine 1570 datewheels that I have, but for now I have these slow beaters installed in my 1665, 1680, and 7298. Getting the dates to line up in the window is an exercise of trial and error. Because I have to reinstall the datewheel overlay onto the 2846, getting it aligned correctly is a bit time consuming. Factor in the installation of the floating Singer dial, and you've got another item that must line up correctly as well. Ludo- Go slow and take your time! For me, mistakes typically happend when I try to rush something, so just relax, and take deep breaths In all seriousness- I've found that a razor blade helps slice the glue and allows the dial to come off easier. Just go around the diameter, and you should be good. Just be sure to clean the old glue off! For dust on the dial, I recommend a dust blower. A couple of puffs will take care of any dust particles on the dial or on the underside of the crystal.
  8. I use a razor blade to go around the spacer... I just did this on my 1680 when I swapped the movement out for a slow beat ETA...
  9. A buddy sent me this link. Hilarious! eBay auction 9519639865
  10. I'm sure I have one of those in my parts box. If I do... It's yours.
  11. No worries. I saved and uploaded the pics
  12. I concur. The only major flaws are with the dial, and that's an easy fix if you swap it out with a genuine dial.
  13. What cracks me up (besides the $10 movement inside) is the completely useless outer minute chapter along the edge of the dial! The hour, minute and seconds hand are all placed on inner subdials that contain their own markers!
  14. [censored]!! SHATZENAGGLES! btw... I'll be wearing my Davidsen PVD tomorrow!
  15. I'll take that for a penny!! P.S. The crappy asian movement exposed in the display back didn't give it away?
  16. LOVE that Patek franken!! An absolute stunner!
  17. Yup.... It's no good. Look very poorly done, as it appears that the larger sized case is trying to accomodate a dial for the 36mm watch! I just shake my head...
  18. Take 2 steps forward then take 10 steps back. Natural evolution of a typical rep....
  19. Take your pick- 18000, 19800, 21600, 28800, 36000...
