  2. Ludo- If I have an extra stem, I'll send it your way! As for the bracelet issue- MBW's come, I believe with the solid link bracelets. I usually swap mine with hollow
  3. Thanks, gang. I would really prefer to keep the watch as is, but I'm concerned a bit about the tritium on the hands; I don't want any of the material to crumble and fall into the movement (the hour hand's tritium has a crack in it). So, that would be the reason why I'd change the hands out; the dial and bezel would be exchanged to match. None the less, I'd keep the original parts stashed away to keep the package complete. I've no intention on ever parting with my new Omega, but it's always nice to know that the watch has it's original parts Anyhow... A quick pic of my diving trio- Soon to be changed any day now...
  4. If the PN dial you saw was $500, then it was most likely a redial. True genuine PN dials sell in the 4 to 5 figures range. Yes- That's JUST the dial; nothing else. No joke. For the condition of the 6536 dial, the price was fair. If it were in better condition (and 100% genuine, original), it would have probably sold for quite a lot more. Remember- A vintage Rolex's overall value is 85% to 90% of the watch's value.
  5. Yes, the genuine inserts are amazingly resilient! I've subjected the one on my 1665 to constant, daily use for the past 7 months- it's kissed door frames, doors, desks, etc. and it still looks as good as the day I snapped it in.
  6. Jet- You have to modify the bracelet slightly- The very last link that the springbar goes through is a touch too small on diameter, so the solution is to widen the diameter by gently spreading the link a bit. I have yet to do this on my own bracelet...
  7. Never had any problems here with inserts. Then again, I usually swap out for genuine anyways...
  8. Yeah... I've seen the yellow/black, but the color combo just doesn't jive. I'd really like to find a coramid, but I think OEM is my only option
  9. I'd love to get one of these for swimming... Though, I'm a bit reluctant to spend $170 - $200 for a velcro strap
  10. Reps are quite the eye opening reality to the watch industry. Muller and Sirmakes made some serious bank on $100.00 watches...
  11. Speaking of checking over a watch upon receipt... I got the screwdriver out, and gave a once over to my davidsen 009... The screws on the CG bridge were a bit loose. Not a huge deal, but just goes to show that it pays to always double check. BTW, have mentioned how much I love this watch?
  12. No worries, mate. I must say... A lot here has changed since '84!
  13. What can I say? I'm a bit eccentric...
  14. I've lived in Colorado all my life... I don't drink and I don't ski, yet there's no other place I'd rather want to live. It's gorgeous here....
  15. I see this thread on it's way to the 'Bin'...
  16. Ahhhh... The infamous jdm_k20. Seems we're all watching the same people...
  17. I think it's a matter of finding the parts. Richemont has a stranglehold on parts distribution...
  18. Sweet! I'm looking forward to seeing the results, Veni! Perhaps we may need to talk Will this strap be a one-off, or will there be a small production run for some of the interested RWG members, too?
  19. If we're talking modern.... PO for me, but only in black. If we're talking vintage 165.024 or a 1680- I'll take both...
