  1. Here's a sneak-peek. It's not perfect but life-size on the wrist the flaws are not apparent...
  2. I'm sure we can breath some life into it...
  3. I never got that far, sold it before I got past the "planning" stage...
  4. These have an a21j movement in 'em. I bought one from them a couple years ago and it had an a21j movement with running seconds at 6. I had planned on freezing the sweep hand but sold it before I got around to it. It was a really nice slim case...
  5. Sorry about your loosing a friend, Rob. My wife has went to three funerals in the past month. I guess when ya start getting older you encounter more and more reminders of just how finite our time here is... That said, for that money I would rather have a really nice hot-rod!
  6. No watches but a handful of 2824 DJ cases that make really good Explorers, a bunch of DW overlay blanks, and assorted bracelets...
  7. That's my second lume job so maybe it will get better some day... But, it glows like a torch! Maybe I shouldn't have posted a 20x magnified image as that will show flaws in anything. Here is the same shot except a bit more reasonable magnification... I'm more worried about the basic composition and glaring accuracy flaws as once it gets to "life size" it looks very passable. I see that the "S" in Submariner and the T SWISS T need a bit of work but this is the frustrating part as they look perfect in Autocad so it will take some playing around to get the printed image to lookk the best.
  8. You will need to re-tap the case, countersink the hole, slightly counterbore the hole, and run the tap through again for the tube to screw in far enough... After tapping you can accomplish the other two carefully with appropriate sized drill bits...
  9. This is more or less a "sandwich". From bottom up you have a dial blank, coat of gloss black paint, the decal, a couple coats of top-coat, lume, then one last spray of "Dull-Cote" too give it a nice flat finish.
  10. I think I've finally found the right decal paper, got the artwork about as close as I'm able, and didn't mess the lume up too bad. This is ready to go into a watch so maybe my Cartel 5512 will cease to be a 5512 in the near future. It would already be installed if I have any "axe hands" that would fit an a21j. I can make this decal in whatever size is needed according to the case the dial would be going into. Since this is a clear decal with white "printing" it can go over whatever color background you can dream up so the possibilities are practically endless. This particular one is a bit over 26mm but I've made them up to 29mm and everything scales perfectly. I have lumed it with Glow, Inc V10 watch lume that has been slightly tinted and the finish is "flat". This is the "final release candidate" version of the decal so please let me know if you see any glaring issues and I'll fix them if I'm able to.
  11. It's probably destined for the thinner vat. The can of blue paint I bought today did not indicate it was 'flake and I was wanting to do just a nice blue Snowflake. I'll get some more next week and play around some more...
  12. Since I'm exploring new dial boundaries today this seemed appropriate...
  13. T, you want me to stick it in the mail to ya?
  14. And I suppose you would rather have a red one?
  15. Today I made an experiment, that woof dubbed the "Liberace Dial", to see just how wild things could go... Other than the questionable background I think this decal is ready! I will start a new post with a completed lumed FLAT BLACK dial and ask for input before I freeze the design and layout.
  16. Normal is "inbound Customs" and "outbound Customs". I've never encountered your message before...
  17. ALPS printer will print white onto a clear background...
  18. Pass that Jose over this way and lemme get out the blender...
  19. No, but I just cut down one of the dial blanks to 26mm just in case somebody I know might want something made out of it...
