Dang! I've got more of these than I realized!!!
I forgot Mr. Quartz!
T, we must have some sort of ESP thang goin' on here. I put mine back on SS this past Monday! Even though the clasp bugs the hell out of me it's not like anybody's gonna notice where I work or any of the places I hang out at! The NATO was comfortable but a PITA to take on and off...
M, I can sleep easy now that this dial has been protected by a case! It turned out fantastic, but I agree with woof about the bracelet. Do you think our two DJs might be cousins?
I would just as soon somebody whup me with a chunk of rebar than put overlays on, but that's one of the hazards of Rolex Repdom. Another reason I love building Tudors!!
TJGladeraider was kind enough to part with one of his GMT Masters and after a dial change and lug drilling I think it's a right smart looking watch! I told him I had gotten rid of all of my GMT watches and this would fill an obvious hole in my collection. The only problem being I either need to make room in the watch box (over the 20 limit) or buy an "secondary" box - I opted for the second option! I may try a Pepsi insert on it but I'm kinda liking the subdued nature of the black insert.
Enough jawin', here's some pics...
Stick with cobalt. The carbide are a bit brittle and sometime grab and break as most hobbyists don't have equipment that's rigid or fast enough. They should be turned at least 2500 RPM and closer to 5000 RPM would not be out of line.
Todays "watch" deal at 1saleaday.com is a 10 watch display case with a drawer for misc. stuff. Price is $49.99 + $4.99 S&H. I promised I would stick to the 20 watch limit in my current box but I find I must break my pledge so I ordered one...
