  1. Man, that sucks... Best of luck for you and a speedy recovery! I hope all goes well for you.
  2. Perfect explanation! BTW: Germans use "Hmmm" very often (in German - probably assuming it's the same in English) and it's not supposed to sound rude at all.
  3. Looks genuine to me. I don't see anything that would make me think it's fake... And the movement swap theory is a good explantation for the serial not matching. I'm sure the movement is genuine too but of course you should take a look inside!
  4. I put my Franken PO for sale three times... I wore it today - and I'm glad I still have it!
  5. Yeah, come on Stu, get your butt in gear mate!
  6. My MBW 1680 insert faded nicely in about 15 minutes in "Sagrotan Schimmelfrei" but I had another insert that didn't show any effect for hours... and then went white in a couple of minutes...
  7. OK, start it up then... Personally I think the GMT is a bit more interesting but overall the two are very similar to me.
  8. Yes, it's a Clark. This is how I got it from BK. I changed the bezel insert though because the pearl wasn't good. It's still not perfect but good enough for me.
  9. Just some pics from today...
  10. Thanks for your feedback guys! It's true - nothing like a gen Rollie... The price is not a secret - I paid 3800 Euros for it with box and papers. That's a good price here atm. Still... expensive enough to put it in a bank safe which is a shame because I can't look at it all the time... I'll take some better pics this weekend...
  11. In Germany you don't even have that choice - the seller always pays the fees. Additionally there is no gift option...
  12. Thanks guys! @justlounging: No etched coronet - I think they introduced this a bit later... 2002? I'm sure the experts will chime in...
  13. Yes, an 'X' is better than nothing... still, sounds serious... I'll drop you a PM Hike!
  14. Yep, here's a quick pic from the side. It's not very high, the Clark crystal on my WM9 Sub sits a tiny bit higher.
  15. I like it a lot. It wears really big, mainly because of it's height but it's sursprinsingly light (Titanium) and comfortable. The design is very unique I think, Steinhart has come a long way from Sub-Lookalikes to this one...
  16. Thanks for your effort, T! I hadn't even noticed the Q&A tab in the Classifieds. I'm sure it will end up as a good solution. By the way I think 5 USD for an AD is quite fair. Compare it to eBay prices guys... maybe this fee should not apply for Platinum members but as a VIP I'd be happy to pay it.
  17. Hi there, well, I was after a gen GMT Master II for a looooong time. Decided to buy one, decided against it again. Sold other watches to fund one and bought something else... No I finally got an offer that was good enough for me. It's a 16710 from 2001 with black/red bezel insert and lug holes (which I really like) in very good condition. I had to sell three of my gens to fund it but I think it was worth it. It's hard to explain but Rolex has a fascination of it's own. The watch is great, I love it. I looks and feels perfect in every way and I really think this is the first watch I will never sell again (except I really need the money but that's another thing). After comparing it to my rep Rollies (BK WM9 Sub v2 and a modded GMT IIc) I have to say the reps are scarily close. I really wouldn't be able to tell these are reps from just looking at them on someones wrist. The gen feels smoother but the differences are really really small! Sorry, only iPhone pics for now... Cheers, Whatever123
