  1. I would like to see some pics of the larger case mate if you have the time Thanks for sharing
  2. I thought if I posted another pic of the same watch.... I wont get told off by the mods !!! Thanks Don I appreciate it mate
  3. I aint seen any pics of these so I thought I would share some iPhone pics of mine.... Forget the faux pusher its a marmite thing!!! but can I draw your eyes at the slight variations to the dial over the 253 accepting the obvious model differences!! If anyone wants side by sides of this against the 253 or even the 212 just let me know.
  4. I had a 111K in my hand over Xmas, it was a friend's one who is a big Risti (always attends the GTGs across EU etc). In direct comparison they did not match but the 111J rep did vary in colour depending on the light, in bright daylight it was more white in artificial or subdued daylight it was a cafe au lait colour. I tried earlier to take pics of one of my gen dials against the 111J but with just taking a standard pic, but the photo made it look not much different even allowing for the crystal. I know nothing about white balance or anything camera geeky, I just point and shoot with flash off and macro on or if I am trying to get a pic to crop I use ordinary distance but thats it.. In my hand the colour is worlds apart I have not seen anything in respect of a difference to the M series but hopefully others might know here
  5. Funnily enough I had a similar situation yesterday I was taking pics of my franken 217 which has a gen CG and crown plus other bits ...anyway I took some pics loaded them onto the computer and cropped the pics as I wanted some of the CG and crown...but once I did this and saw the result I was surprised... In my hand the CG lever is completely flush to my eye and running my fingernail over it but in the pic it looks well off as you can see below... So although the CG lever may not look great I am sure its better than it looks...just look at those gens...I would be pretty certain in your hand that they are flush... Indeed if you look at the 2 shots I took of the pin you can see just how different the same watch part can look with different shots/cropping etc. It just highlights how pics can be an aid but you shouldnt rely on them either way...
  6. Thanks S and K I was going to say Nice to Don but with those shorts in the pic I changed my mind !! I think I recognise Don's knee from a nobbly kneee competition I saw one bank holiday monday in Southend in 1979 !!!
  7. I guess you were lucky mate but from the colour of the inscriptions on the dial this dial has to be one of the worst I own, I noticed it in a few pics that have been posted before I got the ones I have and colour is totally off. I had a couple of the gens and before I had even taken it out of the plastic it was a total stand out... And having the LH dials I can see why people would change theirs... I would not wear this watch as a 111 in a fit but its the best watch for the money when it comes to parting out for a few projects
  8. [quote name='mbjoer' timestamp='1298118142' post='939461 There are fantasy watches which are far more convincing than this one.
  9. Totally agree mate...no one has ever asked me about my chrono buttons or dials or date pushers etc so I have no concerns either with a faux pusher.... I have the new 286 and I am happy to wear it regardless
  10. I did mean to ask mate ..... but could you do these for banks and vaults too !! ;)
  11. Not at all mate, I am just a p*ss taking tw*t !!
  12. I recieved 2 of these new 111Js and I have to say how disappointed (and I aint being anal before you get excited D!! ) I was with the dials but the cases are fantastic for projects Especially compared to the build methods over the Hublot cases...
  13. Personally my first contact would be with the dealer that supplied it... Some of them can and will help with problems like that
  14. Great effort mate...I always liked Rolex's !!! ;)
  15. There is a fair bit of discussion on these models mate if you check out here and RG. The biggest flaw IMHO is the size of the subdials and chrome markers but there are other issues but these are generally QC issues like lume and CG lever etc again you will see these discussion under various threads regarding any of the DLs. I am not sure if the newer versions of the 251 have been effected in the same way as the 250 etc ie Lume, subdial cone pins etc As for the movement itself, The Master did a breakdown of these and as long as you get a decent service and replace a few parts you can expect the same longevity as most other rep movements I have one which was serviced and relumed CG mod etc which I am very happy with... With decent QC you wont be disappointed mate Good Luck
  16. Any of the trusted dealers can source these for you but they aint the best OTB mate
  17. Looks great mate You will have to give it your own model number
  18. I think it will be a long way off and if they do then it wont be a great version given the case material and finish. I think the first thing they need to do is get the 312 sorted but given the movement issue in relation to date window that will only happen once they start and if they start repping the inhouse movement then you need to wait for the factories to achieve a decent OP brown dial again they havent got this right yet and indeed tend to just stick with black even on brown dial models!! Then there is the DW with brown back round and cream font they cant get it right on B&W so thats another issue Then theres the lume with classic vintage they have only just started to get SL correct or pretty close so thats another issue I gues what I am saying is if you want a good rep start thinking about something else There are much easier models for the factories to rep and make money on rather than doing something like the 386
  19. 1) "You were only suppose to blow the bloody doors off !!" 2) "Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know's on third.........." (etc) 3) "Careful you idiot, I said across her nose not up it!" "Sorry sir, doing my best." "Who made that man a gunner?" "I did sir. He's my cousin." "Who his he?" "He's an [censored], sir." "I know that? What's his name?" "That is his name sir, [censored]. Major [censored]." "And his cousin?" "He's an [censored] too sir, Gunner's Mate First Class, Phillip [censored]." "How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow!?" "YO!" "I knew it, I'm surrounded by assholes. ... Keep firing, Assholes." 4) The key here, I think, is to not think of death as an end. But, but, think of it more as a very effective way of cutting down on your expenses. 5) "We are outnumbered 20 to 1 !!! " "twenty to one ?? Time for lunch!!" 6) "What's the password " "The password is what!".... (etc) 7) "Ladies and gentleman, this is your stewardess speaking. We regret any inconvenience the sudden cabin movement might have caused. This is due to periodic air pockets we encountered. There's no reason to be alarmed and we hope you enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?" "Do you speak French, Lt. Drebin?" "No, but I do kiss that way" 9) " A good cop - needlessly cut down by some cowardly hoodlums. " "That's no way for a man to die". "No... you're right, Ed. A parachute not opening... that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine... having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go! " 10) "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."
  20. Eat humble my friend he said "111 from H"
  21. Heres a couple of decent gen pics for comparison in respect of waffle, Chrono hand and dial inscriptions.
